Breakfast was one of the best I've ever had in a hotel. Superb, healthy and plentiful. The hotel was of obvious high quality but relaxed in style. The views from the front of the hotel are truly stunning.

I liked everything about the hotel although some of the staff could've been a little bit friendlier and more attentive. The hotel is a long way from the city centre - although admittedly along a very pleasant rail line - and only accessible (without transport) up a *very* steep hill. The room was very nice but the view was of a rooftop. Considering the stunning view from the front of the hotel, this was a bit disappointing.

love the location, staff, and everything else about this hotel! Beautiful views and out of the city. The breakfast was a huge hit with our group of 26 family members. something for everyone! A few of our family members took advantage of the gym and said it was the best hotel gym they’d been to. My two young grandchildren were with us and the staff was incredibly helpful getting us some milk each night. The staff really does go above and beyond to make sure you have a pleasant stay. One member of staff even fixed my 89 year old father’s walker after finding out a wheel had come off. We will be back!

There isn’t anything we didn’t like.

The view from the lobby is stunning! It is a really beautiful hotel. We enjoyed the spa, which we booked in advance - the staff were very friendly and helpful. There hotel restaurant is great, but there is also another lovely place in walking distance (again with a beautiful view). The tram line is also 10 mins walk away, and you get get into Oslo in 30 minutes. We had a very comfortable stay.

It was quite busy at breakfast - we went early when it opened and it seems like everyone had the same idea! It wasn't so much an issue as there was plenty of food, but it was just a bit slow to navigate and there were only 2 coffee machines for everyone to use so that ended up being a bit of a wait. The food was good though, and the Sunday breakfast was a much more relaxed affair!

The view from our room was amazing and we spent a great deal of time gazing at the changing weather across the fjord. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. We found the trams very easy to use and so access to Oslo was easy. We enjoyed wandering around the ski area and museum right next to the hotel. The receptionist was very polite and apologetic when trying to sort out our room. The staff in the breakfast room were very efficient at restocking and tidying.

When we arrived and went to our room it wasn't set up for a family of 4. We returned to reception and the helpful lady swapped us to another room. We retrieved our luggage and moved it to the second room only to find the same problem again! I returned to reception and asked for housekeeping to come as we didn't want to move again. We were told it would be sorted so we went out. 4 hours later when we returned it still wasn't sorted so yet another trip to reception. I would expect better service from this kind of hotel.

The location and the appearance of the hotel are truly remarkable. It exudes an air of sophistication and elegance. The hotel's unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction is evident in every aspect, as they go above and beyond to provide effective solutions to any issue that may arise.

We were unlucky getting thw first room on the ground floor. A lot of foot traffic inside and outside of the hotel combined with limited soundproofing, didnt make us feel relaxed. Especially late guest arriving and early guest leaving with rolling suitcases. Ask for room on second floor away from the central building and you will be fine!

Wonderful location. Clean, everything still in good condition after a refurbishment. Interesting to have the original wooden hotel in conjunction with the new. Generous breakfast buffet. Pleasant staff.

This is my second stay, both times in standard rooms. When you book a standard room, there is no view from these rooms other than of the hotel it seems, they give the information that the rooms range considerably in size. My first stay was in the larger standard, very comfortable, my second stay I was given the smallest size which is very compact, there seems to be no way of determining which one you get! One pillow per bed, no extra ones in the cupboard. No bath mat. No tissues. There is a large sitting area in the old part of the hotel which is under-utilised, having refurbished the new build they need to re do the furniture in the public rooms of the old hotel so that guests can enjoy an alternative quiet space.

Breakfast, the view, and the comfortable surroundings were terrific. We appreciated the upstairs lounge very much, and had dinner at the hotel restaurant on our first night there. Appreciated the ease of ordering a taxi to the airport, the availability of coffee and beverages, and the graceful, quiet environment. Absolutely a delight!

It would have been nice to be able to take some kind of transportation from the metro stop, as we had one family member with a twisted ankle. The menu didn't have quite enough variation for us to do dinner twice, but the dinner we had was absolutely wonderful.

Location, breakfast, value for money. Definitely need to stay at least 2-3 night to truly appreciate all facilities and surroundings

We were greeted by very friendly evening staff on arrival, however morning receptionist was extremely unfriendly. You would normally expect at least something like “How was your stay?”, but this person couldn’t squeeze even a word, just took my room cards with a blank face and nod his head when I asked if everything was fine. Hope he just had a bad day, and it wasn’t my ugly face causing his sullenness

Love the facilities, the food and the room, would say that for the price the room was very nice and comfy.

My only complaint would be the queues, both for dinner, where an old lady went before us (even though we were on the line before her) and took the table by the window we wanted. And in the breakfast that the staff was late or something and people just skipped the queue and started to sit near the food. I would fix the second problem with a sign or something that said to wait for the waiter to help you. But it's a minor issue that it's just circumstances.

Super beautiful buildings, the old parts reminded my daughter of Elsa's castle from Disney's Frozen, the new parts (where we also had our room) were the perfect match from Scandinavian cozy and modern. Super good breakfast and lunch and kind staff. My daughter loved the waffles lunch special!

Kids are only allowed to the pool from 7-10 in the morning. Can understand that is a plus for adults seeking quiet, but a second "family slot" during the long dark evening would have been nice. Not being early-birds we could not use the pool. From description I thought we could use the metro to get to the hotel, but with luggage in winter this is not really possible. It's not far to the metro but steep. Taxi to the city is appx 650 NOK Dinner choice is a bit limited. But all food at all times was super quality.
