This beautiful property is away from hustle and bustle of Alona town (5-6km away). It is perched on a slope facing the sea. The landscaping reminds me of Italian / French farm stay with a stone slabs leading to the beach. Their complimentary breakfast is one of the best I have in a hotel stay - freshly pressed juice, cut fruits, good selection of breakfast menu. They start breakfast early too ! (6am) and offer on-the-go sandwiches (tasty!). Their restaurant food is quite good (beautifully presented) - tip : must try their desserts- all good ! Had a connecting room facing the pool. Beds are comfortable and clean. A few art pieces decorated the room and feels homely. Pool is great for dipping and looking at stars at nights (magical). They have a few free recreational facilities like kayak, darts board, table tennis - just speak with the staff. Most importantly, the beach is quiet and has an amazing powder like sand. Their 3rd floor library is beautiful and has a good selection of books. Good place to chill out with constant sea breeze.. Only downside is , there are sea grass in the sea - just wear aqua shoes and you will be fine. Water is like all of Bohol - crystal like clear.

I don't even know how to begin to praise this resort. We arrived at night and once the gate opened, everything was decorated with lights, and walking into the property felt like we were in a dream. They have a beautiful pool, vegetable garden, boutique shop, games area, art gallery, and more that we probably did not have time to explore in the 2 days we were there. But everything you set your eye on in this place is a work of art in itself. "Attention to detail" is an understatement. The staff was wonderful, the food was delicious, and everything felt luxurious. The cost is super reasonable for what you get. I wish we could have stayed longer! Thank you so much for this experience.

The beach in front is not the best but 10 minutes down the road it is better, there are bugs in the room and big lizards around (of course it is to be expected when you are in nature! just be prepared so you are not shocked), and I was a bit disappointed that the services suggested by the hotel were so marked up. E.g. scooter rental for 800 pesos, when the going rate is 500-600. Actually we got a good scooter on our own for 400 by the beach... They called a trike for 400 each way to go to the bridge, about 20 minutes. We paid 1500 for a 2.5-3 hr ride the day before on our own. Please don't take advantage just because guests can't make their own phone calls to get a proper deal, it is not worth it to leave a bitter taste when everything else is perfect.

Private beach Swimming pool The room is very cleaned Transfer to airport/ferry is included

Hotel charges high price for anything extra (we paid 2000 pesos for laundery/pressing and we did not ask for the pressing) Better to book yourself the tricycle as hotel will try to take advantage and charge higher prices.. (they have tried it with us) Restaurant prices are on the high end, food is good though. You can find plenty of local stalls by walking on the beaches

Very nice and accomodating staff (shout out to John Paul). Incredible Cuisine any time of the day. We can highly recommend the club sandwich and salpicao. Never drank such a good calamansi juice like theirs. The hotel has an old school traditional filipino touch and ambiance. But it is still modern, comfortable and beautiful. The pool and the white beach are also fantastic. It is very well connected to the airport (including free transportation service to and from the resort). It is located at a quiet place, no airplane noises and good located to start a Panglao tour or even Bohol Countryside tour. Thank you for the amazing and relaxing days and experience.

This was an absolutely stunning hotel. The facilities were absolutely gorgeous. There was an infinity pool & a private beach which was excellent for snorkelling off. The facilities were impeccably clean, and the food was excellent with a great variety of both western and Philippine cuisine. It was only a short tricycle ride to Alona Beach, but if felt so nice being away from the business of Alona. It was very easy to organise day trips from this hotel too. The staff were absolutely exceptional, they were so incredibly friendly and helpful. We came here for our honeymoon and our room was so beautifully set up as a surprise as well as a private dinner on the beach - thank you SO much Sander for all that you did for our special trip. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and I wish I could rate it more than 10/10!!

During our stay, everything was even better than expected. From the first jaw dropping view of the remarkable resort to the great restaurant to the checkout, nothing negative can be found. We were already kindly welcomed at the airport and driven to the resort. The staff was super friendly and complied with every request. The food was great. And the view from the balcony was a dream. The entire facility is beautifully and lovingly designed down to the last detail. We were able to rent a scooter directly on site to explore the entire island. Everything worked professionally and without the slightest problems. We are already looking forward to coming back sometime. 10 stars. Thank you for an exceptional stay!

elligant; fusion between new and old; very artistically well built for everyone to admire and enjoy; feels like your home; protected and well looked after; staff are very sensitive to the costumers needs and respects our values. Hats off to the owners for sharing their legacy to everyone; never a dull moment : there is always space for learning and enjoying.

food needs more improvement. it is nice but it will be perfect if they could find a really great chef and up grade their menu from time to time. simple menu is the best as long as the quality of the food is there even just a simple fried egg or crispy bacon goes a long way. a simple local food like champorado would compliment the vintage touch scenery of the property.

The Amarela resort was incredible. Even before we arrived, the hotel staff was super responsive and helpful with our last minute travel plans and accommodating our pickup. The Amarela property is breathtaking. You will not find a single inch of the property that is without a carefully hand picked detail. There’s a great deal of décore, beautiful flowers, and art that really makes the place very charming. The property layout with the path to a private beach is wonderful and with a very beautiful view from the dining area. The pool is immaculate. I particularly enjoyed the art gallery and upstairs part of the lobby. The facilities are great, everything was VERY clean and our room included everything including complementary water bottles and beach towels. The restaurant is also great, the food was delicious and the breakfast in particular was fantastic. The staff was always super friendly and helpful with anything we needed to arrange. Lastly, I did some great snorkelling in the ocean directly in front of the property. The private beach area is very nice.

Nothing to critique

* Enjoyed exclusive access to a private beach, pool, and table tennis table during the stay * Immersef in the unique ambiance of our well-designed bedrooms adorned with exquisite local wooden arts. * Indulgef in a delicious breakfast buffet that caters to all tastes, featuring a wide selection of local delicacies, fresh fruits, and other delectable options

* The hotel is located a bit further from the main beach * Although the overall cleanliness of the hotel was satisfactory, I noticed some areas in my bedroom (Mainly the bed) that could have been cleaner * The air conditioner in my room was a bit bothersome and didn't function as effectively as I had hoped * The TV provided in the room was dim and not up to the standard I was expecting. It would have been nice to have a better-quality television

The best artifact objects are preserved in this property. The paysage and decor are well preserved.

Following the global pandemic, it is visible that the hotel has struggled maintaining and preserving the hidden jewel. I didn’t appreciate the way room rate has changed since the time I made my booking. The hotel said the pricing is initiated by Booking.com while Booking.com said the hotel is solely responsible for their hotel rate. How do I know who is right🤷🏻‍♀️?
