When I was thinking about whether to book this hotel, I did my research and saw there were so many 5-star reviews. I thought it was a bit fishy, like it was too good to be true, but still booked it anyway. After staying there for 3 nights, now I know the many glowing reviews were left by the actual customers! The owners, Helena and Sergio, are such lovely people! I always had excellent chats with them and they kept checking up to make sure that I had everything that I needed. Beatriz is an angel and was so patient spending hours introducing me to Terecira in detail and helping me book the taxis and tours that I requested so last minute. The hotel is filled with many artworks and every detail is so thoughtful. Right down to how the rooms don't have numbers but are named after local writers with a quote on the room wall. Many breakfast items are sourced locally and they have different fresh cakes every day. The hotel in a very convenient location and a few minutes away walk from the main street with restaurants and shops. The room is also very quiet and I'm a light sleeper. I highly recommend staying with them!

This was one of the best places I've ever stayed in. It was easy to find, near the center of Angra and it is perfect base for exploring Terceira. At the check-in, girl at the reception gave amazing recommendations on what to visit, activities, restaurants. Room was clean, nice, more as a hotel amenities in general. Breakfast was rich, most of it local or homemade: jams, butter, local cheese and salami, different selection of pastry, cakes, orange juice, coffee, cereals. Owners were kind, always checking on you and giving advices. Price was reasonable, great value for money. Overall amazing experience and I would recommend everybody to stay here.

The owners (Elena and Sergio) and the staff (Beatriz and Sofie) are the most attentive we have ever encountered! Extremely gracious even from before we arrived, they arranged transportation from the airport for us and Sofie stayed late to check us in after a very late flight. Next morning, Beatriz gave us a five-star presentation about Terceira and things to do, how to get around, etc., and made reservations for us as needed. The breakfast on the terrace is filling and includes homemade goods! Exceptionally clean rooms and bathrooms, very secure. Convenient parking! We cannot recommend Memoria Boutique Hostel enough! They even made us little breakfast to-go boxes for an early checkout. They really made us feel like family.

Excellent breakfast if you are after healthy eating and coffee - homemade granola, fruit, chia seeds or sunflower seeds, breads, cakes, homemade spreads, cheese and meat tray. Very helpful staff - Sophia, Elena and Swen all made us feel very welcome and shared many insights about the area. King bed was great, room was very comfortable. Shower quickly heated up and great pressure. Easy walk to many sights.

We had a fantastic stay accompanied by great hospitality from the hosts! They provided us with great local suggestions and information and were very open and welcoming to our additional requests! The beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was great filled with local and homemade products. We totally recommend staying there if you're coming to Angra, as it is very well located to enjoy all the city attractions within walking distance!

I had been postponing this review as I felt nothing I write could reflect the magnificent stay we had at Memoria Boutique Hostel. The main reason I booked a stay here was for the outstanding reviews. I had never stayed in a place that had a rating of close to 10, so was looking forward to finding out why it ranked so high! This became evident even before our arrival to Terceira. Helena and Sergio’s care for guests is unlike I had any I had ever seen before. They have a beautiful combination of professionalism, giving you all details and tips needed to make your stay pleasant, and also make you feel so welcome and at home. They gave us a ride to the airport, discussed restaurant options with us, explained the geography of the island and we spent quite some time talking about its culture. The hostel itself was created with plenty of attention to detail. Each private room is named after an Azorean writer and there’s plenty of tiny bits that show how much care went into the design. Breakfast is excellent — everything is incredibly fresh and of great quality. Jams, honey, cheeses, granola, breads and vegetables are some of the options and many are home-made. I can’t recommend this place more — it has definitely become a sort of home for us in Terceira!

Hosts were amazing! They have so much local knowledge about history, food and sites to see. They cannot do enough to help in organising tours, taxis, and itineraries. The room was very clean and bed made up everyday, with cooling AC that could be directly controlled from the room. Water pressure was high standard, beds comfortable, and plenty of plug sockets in the room. The breakfast was delicious- consisting of local cheese, meats, honey and breads as well as a selection of juices and hot drinks. Water was drinkable from taps in the establishment. The honesty fridge worked extremely well; we did not have to concern ourselves with paying as we went along, we could just settle up at the end of our stay. Overall, this hostel exceeded our expectations in every way and I cannot recommend staying here highly enough!

The hostel is about 5/10 minute walk from the town centre on a slight incline. It is no challenge unless a person is less able for walking (wheelchair/crutches). The reception within the establishment is up some stairs with no elevator so again not ideal for those unable for climbing.

Everything was perfect! I don’t think you can meet nicer hosts anywhere else. They were the most welcoming, helpful and charming persons I’ve met. The room was super clean and comfortable, and even it’s a hostel, it’s super quiet at night. I slept very well! Thank you again for everything!

That was a big pleasure for to stay in Memoria for 2 nights! We never met before such attentive staff to their customers at each aspect like guidance about island sights, transfer booking, food, etc. The room was crystal clean and well equipped. Definitely these days will be kept in our memory for the whole life!

The owners, Helena and Sergio, were the best of the whole experience. Their staff, Carla and Beatriz, are very well prepared in customer service! Excellent communication during the reservation process. They took care of each of their guests personally, giving them the best recommendations for restaurants and places to visit. On the day of my check out, because it was very early, they made breakfast to go for me! I really appreciate it! They made my visit to Angra memorable! Definitely, I would love to come back to their boutique hostel!

Nothing! Everything was perfect. PS: Maybe, a little box near the main door to drop the keys off for early check-outs would help! I had to run upstairs twice! :))
