+ Nice location, within walking distance of the centre of town. + Friendly and helpful reception staff. + Very pragmatic and helpful housekeeping staff who came up with the perfect solution to my light problem... We had a street-side room on the ground floor. Curtains let through a lot of light, something that could - in the longer-term - easily be remedied by placing simple (rolling?) blinds on the windows. When I mentioned this, after a (short) first night, a very kind lady in housekeeping worked with the lady at reception and ensured our room was totally dark from the 2nd night of our stay onwards. Both ladies deserve a medal for the cheerful and pragmatic way they completely solved this issue. Muito obrigado!

- Too much light coming into the room during the night. See above comments in the +ve section. - Breakfast staff might just manage a welcoming smile or other greeting, for every 2nd or 3rd guest... - Breakfast area can be a bit cramped when the hotel is full(er). Fine on quiet days.

Very comfortable, lovely views and friendly helpful staff. A luxury night on camino. Did not use the indoor pool and outdoor one closed til summer. Great buffet breakfast and delicious gourmet dinner in the hotel restaurant when too tired to walk back to the plaza restaurants.

Would have liked a kettle to make tea in the room. Shower nozzle needs fixing to stay upright but OK if you pull on the hose to hold it in place. Can choose to use hand held shower head instead.

The staff were so kind, helpful and welcoming. They had a large group in for a Christmas function and still went out of their way to accommodate us and our needs. I have stayed twice at this hotel and it will continue to be my first choice, when visiting Coimbra.

I dont dislike anything about this hotel...only points of feedback is that the car park isnt very big, and it was very busy due a function, but there is alternative parking nearby in this event. I also wish there were tea/coffee facilities in the rooms.

A stunningly beautiful hotel with excellent views over their property to the hills behind. We were in need of a day off on our Camino, and loved it so much we stayed a second night! Appreciated the extra time to take in Conimbriga. Staff were exceptionally welcoming and friendly, and the massage was a real treat a week into our journey! Excellent restaurant and the welcome drink was most appreciated!

Unfortunately the pool was under construction, which meant some daytime noise, but this shouldn't last long and would otherwise highly rate this space as a relaxing environment.

The location with an giant green garden and swimming pool. The village around is calm and typical.

The style smells the 60’s. Some elements in the bathroom were rotten and the door was not working properly. The service at the restaurant was super mega extra long….. I believe they were hunting the chicken before cooking it.

It's a wonderful place with excellent stuff. It's not our first time at this hotel and we return there with great pleasure. The rooms are well furnished with nice bath amenities, dishes at the restaurant are delicious, and people working there are extremely helpful. Gil, thank you so much! The hotel is a little bit remoted from Coimbra but just a little bit and it gives it a special charm of secluded place. There're some works now to enlarge place and increase services but it didn't disturb us. Hope to come back there again.

Current works on the building new extension that don't benefit side views from the rooms terraces, but it doesn't worsen our time there. We've simply enjoyed romantic sunset there and late evening wine on terraces of family room.

Great hotel with a large garden. Very friendly staff. Good breakfast. The restaurant serves tasty food and good wines. Rooms are a bit dated but spacy and clean. Coimbra is only 25 min by car. Nearby is an impressive Roman Site and museum.

Beautiful hotel with the added bonus of a brand new spa. We paid for half board which was superb. Every single member of staff went out of their way to talk to us, super friendly team. We will definitely revisit this hotel when we return to the area. Excellent value, highly recommend this hotel.

Breakfast could have a bit more savoury on offer.

Quiet spot with easy access to Coimbra and the Roman remains of Conimbriga. Sadly the spa facilities were not yet ready but will be a great asset when they are.

More attention could be given to maintenance of facilities in general. the door of our toilet, for instance could not be closed. service was patchy. Some restaurant/bar staff were very inexperienced and sullen. Others excellent.

Beautiful countryside view from our room, spacious bedrooms, great outdoor pool area, very good breakfast, helpful staff. On the last day we had an issue with our car and in less than 30min the hotel receptionist and staff managed to get us help so we could repair the car and proceed with our travel. Many many thanks for such great hospitality! We will definitely come back.
