This is an exceptionally beautiful place, probably the most beautiful that we’ve ever stayed in. The grounds are stunning, and there is a chapel that is just exquisite and very historic. The breakfast is also amazing with many choices.

The staff are attentive, but rather cold. They were right there to clear plates efficiently, a little too efficiently, but I think that they forgot that it is all about the experience for the traveler. They were unwilling to fill even small requests for guests, such as substituting a glass of house wine for Prosecco for the welcome drink, and made us feel like we were constantly infringing on the rules. For the price we were paying, I would suggest that a little friendliness and accommodation goes a long way. I would rather interact with staff that don’t speak perfect English, than staff that speak well but are cold.

The hotel is beautiful and well designed. My room was really spacious and I loved the view and balcony area. The staff was very professional and kind, in particular the bar tender (his name has slipped my mind) ... very professional and friendly gentleman.

Transportation to the city center... perhaps a shuttle of some kind. I came by train and not car so I felt a bit isolated from the city center at times and there is no great way to walk to the city center or I would have even preferred that. But I suppose that most of their guests drive there. No really a negative, but I think it would be a nice add.

We really loved staying at this hotel; one of the very best that we stayed in while we were in Portugal for 3 weeks. What made it special beyond the beautiful parts of the convent hotel, were the staff. They were all incredibly helpful and always willing to help with whatever questions that we had. We especially enjoyed talking with Daniel S. at the bar area. He was funny, engaging and always had a smile and went out of his way to greet us. We also enjoyed doing two of the free wine tastings while we were there. The outside pool area is very beautiful and relaxing to be at. We enjoyed eating at the Olive restaurant there as well as at the bar area. Breakfast was a huge buffet with fresh OJ daily. This hotel is about a 10 minute drive to the center of Evora. Easy to get there and park--although parking outside the city is more easy to find than inside the walls. There is also a grocery store minutes away from the hotel should you need anything. We were in the older section of the convent. Our room was large with a very large bathroom with shower and soaking tub. I just wish our room had had a balcony. If you are looking for a balcony room, they are the more modern rooms in the newer section. Highly recommend this hotel.

Would have liked to have had 2 luggage racks in the room rather than just one.

The property, in particular the main building which goes back to the 15th century, is truly stunning. Staying in a convent room, having meals in the old wine cellar, and simply walking through the halls and rooms of this historic building was a splendid experience.

The new wing of the property felt a little sparse and sanitized, but I suppose largely because one can’t help but to compare it to the convent itself.

Nice location very relaxing good overall history staff excellent

We thought the menu in the restaurants was a bit bland it seemed that it was designed for profitability rather than whole satisfaction the meals were not outstanding as would be expected of a location such as this in a facility that has so much to offer, talking to other guests this seemed to be a general option, and it was understood that the menu never changes week in week out ?

What’s not to LOVE? …wine tasting (excellent) and tour upon arrival- My husband and I felt so welcome to this beautiful and historic gem. Dinner was elegant and yummy and thoroughly enjoyed the bar and bartender afterwards. The spa was relaxing and our room was more than comfortable with a great view of the gorgeous grounds. (1,100 yr old olive tree) Breakfast was expansive and awesome including honey right off the comb. I could go on and on but will leave a few discoveries for your own stay. ❤️

Everything was just outstanding. The staff was extremely friendly, professional and always ready to assist. The food at breakfast and dinner was delicious with a variety of options. We'll definitely recommend this hotel to others. We booked originally for four days - we stayed six. Please make sure that the management is informed about their wonderful staff

We didn't find anything to complain about and this is sufficient to emphasize how happy we were during our extended stay

The service was divine when checking in and at the restaurant. They treat their guests like royalty there. The building was absolutely beautiful with a so much historic feeling to it. There is a chapel inside and when we walked in, I was in awe of its beauty. There is a spiritual feeling there.

I can't complain about anything because it was so wonderful there, but we did feel like we had to whisper when we spoke to each other. It felt like we were staying in a convent for Monks and Nuns. Actually, I think that is what the place was back in the 17th century. I guess the property holds that same aura.

The property was beautiful and rich in history. We were only there for one night, but wish we could have stayed longer. We got up very early and enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi all to ourselves for 2 hours! The breakfast was high quality with a very wide variety of options. We spent 2 weeks in Portugal, stayed in 6 different hotels - this hotel was our absolute favourite and we hope to come back!

We found that the Italian restaurant was overpriced.

This is a very nice hotel in a historical setting. The place is lovely and a good point to start exploring the region without being in Evora proper.

The rooms were noisy - there is no separation to the corridor and we got waken up by kids running in the common parts in the middle of the night. We could also hear our neighbours talking through the partition... Having to book a precise breakfast slot was a surprise The staff were OK but not particularly warm Finally you are asked to buy a bathing hat before going to the pool. This looked cheap from the hotel, who could include that in the cost of the night.
