The room was great. Stairs to the 3rd floor (2nd floor European). Comfortable bed, big bathroom, well equipped kitchenette, great view over the rooftops, and a really nice (paid) breakfast. The staff were lovely and helpful. It was central to everything.

The shower ran out of hot water twice, the water from the shower absolutely soaks the bathmat, and the two single armchairs were not comfortable for relaxing. If you have trouble with stairs, do not reserve this apartment. We know parking would be an issue going in, and we were directed to a free lot just outside the walls; 10 minute walk tops.

A beautiful hotel area and room, very pleasant and welcoming hosts!

The location of the property was absolutely perfect. It is almost dead center in the middle of the old town and I don’t think there could’ve been a better location. After booking the hotel, we received a phone call from Joni who just wanted to get an accurate timeframe of when we might be at the hotel. We then found him waiting out front for us to help with the luggage and entrance of the hotel and we arrive. He could not have been more accommodating with helping us during our stay as well. Joni gave us some amazing recommendations for dinner as well as he went above and beyond to email us directly some recommendations for the Geres national Park. He was extremely kind and also stored our luggage while we finish the day exploring before we left. He is a definite asset to this hotel, and one of the kindest hosts we have ever had. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel for staff as well as its location. The room was extremely clean and the bed was very comfortable. Shower had excellent water pressure and water was very hot. There’s a small kitchenette in our room with coffee and tea and everything you would need. It was overall a wonderful stay and highly recommended.

I don’t believe there was anything not to like at this property or the staff. It was exceptional in every way.

The staff was very friendly, welcoming, and responsive. They helped us with everything we needed, including restaurant recommendations. Our room was extremely comfortable and clean and had a lot of space. The common areas were also good. They also have a pool in a calm and reserved area. To top it off, the house is pure history (in a good way). Absolutely nothing to complain.

Breakfast was tasty, but on a personal note I’d have liked to have eggs and/or lactose/gluten free options.

This was by far the most beautiful property we stayed at. Simply breathtaking. You’ll feel like you’re staying with royalty. Modern amenities have been seamlessly integrated into the original architecture and design so the space is comfortable while having loads of cachet. Mafalda greeted us even before we got out of the car. She showed us where to park and was so helpful with recommendations and tips. I can’t say enough about our stay here. It is the bar.

Lovely mini flat with sepate living and bedroom areas and ensure shower room. The staff were so welcoming and delightful and great at recommending restaurants etc. Thank you Johnny! Place was kept spotlessly clean and sheets and towels were very good quality and bed very comfortable. The location is excellent for all the central places and visits in the old town. Parking outside the walls is free and easy to access.

Location provided short walks to many areas of interest. Room was spacious and although we didn't use it, the kitchen area had everything for cooking, utensils, plates, pots, etc. Quiet room. Comfortable bed. Instant hot water! Friendly, helpful and easy check-in. A tasty welcome glass of regional wine offered upon check-in.

Parking in the city is always a bit more difficult, but easily found a spot. Just be aware and set your expectations.

The host was very kind and showed us around the apt. The space is charming and has been re-purposed to be modern, convient, comfortable, while still maintaining its historical character. It's a unique place to stay.

There really weren't any drawbacks. Maybe parking situation can be a challenge if you are there when town is really crowded. We were fortunate, and parking was easy, but I can see this being an issue if you have a car. I think that would be the same for any apts around there. It's not unique to this property. It's the nature of the town. But, once parked, you can walk to any place around town very easily. Ask the host ahead of time for parking advice. She is very helpful!

This hotel was located in the old part of Evaro, with nice, walkable historic sites all around. Many good restaurants and shops were within walking distance. The narrow streets were interesting and the locals were all quite friendly. Our room was just great-with a large bedroom and a king-sized bed. The living area was big and well furnished, with high curved arched ceilings (which the bedroom also had). The bathroom was spacious and had plenty of shelving for our toiletries--the only occasion we experienced that in or two weeks in Portugal.

Parking was just not available, and we used a lot about a half mile distant--a bit of a pain since it was a good uphill climb from the lot to our hotel.

The place is absolutely beautiful, as was the service. I would absolutely stay again but if I was travelling alone or with a partner.

One thing I found disappointing, and would like to have been made aware of at the time of booking is that the pool is not always available. It needs to be booked in advance and is available in blocks of 1 hour time slots. This makes the days trickier to plan. As well, considering how hot Evora is in the summer, my girls (daughters - 14 year old twins) and I would have loved to drop into the pool at our leisure. While I understand the pool, is small, again this should have been advised as it would have been taken into account when looking for places to stay.
