I really loved the place, from the amazing and really helpful staff to delicious breakfast and amazing location in the city center. Also I love the details, so names of the rooms based on Levadas around Madeira was very cute detail. Plus when we had the early morning hiking trip, they were so nice to prepare snack for us for the trip. If you are planning a stay in Funchal, I HIGHLY recommend to stay in Zarco! Our room was directly above the breakfast area, so we could hear staff preparing breakfast. Even when it woke us up, the staff was so nice and friendly that we were not that bothered by it after all.

The location is the best. I met people whose accomoddation was so far they had to walk a kilometer or more.. i was at home in 2 minutes.. so you can stay in the city without a time limit for yourself (as a solo traveler). The shower was perfect.. I need the same at home.. after a tiring and exciting daily dose of walks an adventure it was very welcome to have a good shower... and last but not least.. Andre and Jean were very open and welcoming. I had great chats with them each day.. thank you both...

The room has no window to the outside world, so no natural light and fresh air...but then with the vivid Madeiran nights maybe that's not a bad thing considering the noise from the streets or bars around. The room is very compact but for a solo traveler like me who was only there to sleep, shower and for a short rest it was all I actually needed for the short 5 nights of stay...

Location is just perfect, in the middle of old town, very close to airport bus stop, few minutes walk from the Santa Maria street. Coffee was surprisingly better than in other bigger hotels in Madeira :)

Breakfest variety could have been better, no warm options. The room is very tiny (which we expected based on the photos), but the bed was short, too! I (185 cm) could not fit without having my feet levitating in the air, which was disappointing. The bed itself was quite soft to my taste. Surrounding of the B&B is rather busy in the evening & during the night, so we could hear people shouting in the middle of the night, but this is the price for value accommodation with center location.

1.) The location is in the center, you can go everywhere on foot. 2.) New interior and such fresh vibes throughout the hotel. 3.)Helpful and friendly staff. There was no problem checking in, checking out. Immediately upon check-in, they told us that in case of need (hiking or going to the airport early), we can prepare breakfast to take away.

BIGGEST minus - noise! Noise from outside (cafes, bars down the street, and across the street). But also the noise from the hallway (in the room you can hear everyone who comes up the stairs/down the stairs.) Talking in the hallway, etc. If you are a fragile sleeper, consider staying. The rooms are small but of adequate size. Only the bathroom is relatively narrow. As people mention in feedbacks that you have to climb over the pot to take a shower. I also managed to hit my head against the upper edge of the shower 2 times. But that's a little thing. People with "wider hips" might want to consider staying here. It is possible to park the car only in city paid parking lots. Or approximately 10-15 minutes' walk from the hotel in the wallet-free zone.

AMAZING! From the welcome to the bye. All the staff is adorable! Jaime, Coby, and the ladies (sorry, I don't remember your names girls, 2 in reception, and the cleaner). Beautiful decoration, comfortable, extremely clean. Fantastic, very complete full breakfast. Fresh and tasty! Excellent bed! New & very comfortable. Beautiful views of the coast from the bedroom. Delicious shower in a very nice bathroom. PERFECT location! Impossible to improve! 100/100 Already recommended it to all my friends and my son. As well as planning to come back. Impossible to find a bad point.

The hotel is a great starting point as it is very close to many attractions. The hotel is newly renovated. Our room was a bit cramped but it has a charm of its own. Very comfortable beds and modern, multifunctional air conditioning. Breakfast is basic but the rolls, bread and croissants were baked in the kitchen daily. The service is very polite and helpful (Katia in particular does her best to solve the problem and does it very efficiently).

Some of the rooms do not have windows opening to the outside of the building. The window opens to a bright hall, but there is a panoramic roof above it, the space is closed and there is no fresh air. The rooms are poorly soundproofed and you can sometimes hear outside sounds.

It was clean and modern. Kettle supplied in room. Small fridge. The location is great, right in the old town near everything. The breakfast was good with a lot of choice. Staff were friendly. Bottled water was left for us.

Our room was noisy, from noise in the hotel, as it is very echoey. Our window opened into the breakfast area, so we were woken by staff preparing breakfast at 6.00 am. The bed was too hard and pillows hard and lumpy.

Amazing service, staff answered all questions we had and even made us breakfast at 2am before our flight home. Location is absolutely perfect, so close to the old town and attractions, as well as public transport links. Room was nice, clean and had good facilities. Breakfast is great too, including freshly baked bread and cake! Couldn't reccomend more. And great price too

The breakfast was ok but every morning was offering the same type without any new options. The location is perfect and everything was around on 15 min by foot except the Botanic Garden and Monte Palace and Tropical Gardens. For them you need to get a bus, a taxi or Monte cable car.

The space in the bathroom and toilet is a bit tight but for 2-3 nights it's ok. The first night the crew who was working there was a bit noisy till 11pm and next morning at 6am it was the same. Fortunately, the next days was much better and more quiet.

Very friendly personnel. We've done a late checkin and a late checkout with no problems as there is someone 24h/day at the front desk. We parked the car on the narrow streets near the building (free parking) but you have to keep in mind that if you park in front of a store you need to move the car by ~8:30 next day. The breakfast, was just what we needed to fill our batteries (ham, cheese, yogurts, fruits, cereals, etc). At the departure at 3 AM in the night, we had a little surprise waiting from the man at the front desk (pity I don't know his name): some sandwiches prepared for us

In the first night, there was a party (on the street I believe) and it was a bit noisy.
