The hotel is located inside Horta fortress, an amazing location. It is right in the city centre on the main street overlooking the harbour and Pico island with the volcano. It has a nice swimming pool with the same view. There are some parking spots in front of the hotel.

The hotel is expensive, especially for Azores standards and for that price you could expect something better. It is probably not worth to spend such an amount of money, you can find similarly nice properties in Horta at a much cheaper price.

The balcony and the few from the hotel room was amazing. You see the sea, the sailing boats and the mountain Pico on vis a vis island, where behind the mountain the sun raises every morning. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast has a big selection. Location perfect vis a vis Supermarket, Restaurant and direct at the harbour, where the whale watching and other tours can be booked and start.

The bathrooms were rather small, the rooms sometimes smelled a little dusty due to the old building but which was much better after opening the windows.

Breakfast was wonderful, with an abundance of choices offered. My knees were sore after some hikes and the staff was able to provide ice for me. We also were easily able communicate with the staff.

Can’t think of a thing that I didn’t like.

For us it was convenient to all the locations we wanted to get to (e.g. marina, restaurants, convenience store, etc.

Wi-fi service when sitting on the deck outside the room and in the bathrooms.

Everything about the hotel and location was perfect. It was exciting to be in a "former" fort with walls and cannons around. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Breakfast was brilliant. And the gentleman at the reception was superb on the evening of 6th of June and he was working also in the morning of the 7th. One of the best customer minded persons I have ever met!!!!!
