The room was nice and comfortable, quite spacious, the bathroom and shower were very nice and there was storage space which was great. The staff were lovely, so friendly. They even gave us some free coffee! The staff are always at the desk so you feel very secure and as they keep the key during the day, there is no chance of losing it! The surrounding area is very central, close to Baixa-Chiado station, and well connected. The room was cleaned every day. There was also a kettle so we could make tea/coffee in the room. We could also turn the heating on during the evenings when it was a little bit chilly outside.

Everything was great, the only small thing was the window in our room was a bit difficult to close and open. But the staff were available to help us with that, which we really appreciated.

Exceptional service and hospitality: The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. They provided us with lots of tips about travelling in Lisbon, making our entire journey 100 times better!! For example, they provide guests with free maps hand-drawn with tram routes to guide you around the city. The restaurants they recommended to us are also super delicious and good value for money! Room: We were upgraded to a deluxe double room and the room was extremely dark, and decently quiet at night (though it is off-season so our neighbouring rooms might not be occupied). We had 4 good nights of sleep!!

Accessibility: although the hotel is quite central, within 10-15min walk from tram/metro/bus stations, it is located uphill from these stations. The hilly walk can be quite challenging or tiring for some. Not good for people with mobility issues. Room: Furniture is on the old side. Even though we got an upgrade, the room was still quite small. Not a good option if you would prefer to spend more time in the room, since the space can get quite crowded with two people.

Elena and Miguel, the sweetest hosts ever! Thank you for your warm hospitality! They were very kind and caring and very helpful! Elena gave us a map and directions, while Miguel offered us coffee every morning and a great farewell gift (and a letter in our language!!!) waiting for us in our room! The location is perfect if you want to enjoy it in the center of the city! Our room was cleaned every day, even the towels were replaced with new ones without asking! Highly recommended! Obrigado!

A faster internet connection would be better, but we didn't spend much time there besides sleeping and relaxing.

We were in Lisbon for the first time and chose Anjo Azul for the fantastic location in the centre of the city. Every member of staff we met over our four-night stay was wonderful, attentive and very kind and generous with advice for the city. The room itself was comfortable, on the second floor with a deliciously hot shower. The hotel itself is on the street so we woke up once because a car alarm went off but that’s the price you pay for the great location.

The wifi in the room was a little weak and we got two single beds joined together to form a double but these are minor comments really. Thank you Anjo Azul!

We had a wonderful 5 nights in this lovely hotel and it's friendly and helpful staff. Our room was smallish but easily big enough for our needs and very well equipped with a fridge, kettle and coffee maker. The beds were very comfortable and the shower good. The towels were soft and fluffy and replaced daily. The cleaning staff kept everything spotless. We had double windows opening onto a small balcony and a view of our steep cobbled street towered over by the charming four storied houses. One afternoon we were so lucky to hear a lady with a beautiful voice singing traditional Fada on the street below our window. An amazing memory. The hotel is closed to great cafes shops restaurants and everything else Lisbon has to offer. It is a busy and noisy area at night but we slept very well and undisturbed. The Tram 28 stop is at the bottom of the street. As many have done before we want to especially thank the desk staff for going far beyond the call of duty to ensure we got the best out of our stay in the hotel and a rich experience of all Lisbon has to offer. Miguel, Gizella and another lady whose name unfortunately I do not remember are invaluable assets to this establishment. Thank you Miguel especially for looking after us. We won't ever forget your kindness. We hope to return to Lisbon one day and sincerely hope that we can stay again at Anjo Azul.

There was nothing for us not to like about this hotel.

The hotel was in a great location, not too far from the city centre. Of course, Lisbon is known to be very hilly and the accommodation is on top of a hill - so keep that in mind! The staff at Anjo Azul were what made the place special. They were always extremely friendly and helped us out with our every request. They made the trip memorable! Our room was right by the front desk, which was the only thing I would have changed if possible - the other guests seemed to be upstairs which I imagine would have felt a bit more private. However, the location and staff more than made up for it. We had a really great stay overall!

Everything was as its rating would lead us to believe .The staff were excellent especially Miguel and Elena .the room was excellent .Every thing worked as it was supposed to .we were very happy with nearly all of the outcomes of our stay ,we especially appreciated the fact that the staff carried our heavy bags up the stairs which negated the fact that there was no lift .

We often had trouble finding our way to and from the hotel either on foot or in a taxi . This is however probably not a problem for most people who have reliable global roaming on their phone but for those who don’t have it , it is a nuisance .

In one word: perfect, 10/10. In more detail: as a woman traveling alone, I needed a safe and quiet place to stay in Lisbon; here I found that and much more. Excellent location (in Bairro Alto, near Chiado, yet in a calm and peaceful quarter); the room was neat, cozy, and immaculately clean (the same about the bathroom); the linens and towels were fresh; having a fridge and a kettle was very handy. Attention, fellow smokers: yes, there _are_ designated smoking areas in the hotel, but make sure to clarify in advance whether your room has one or not - and please keep the process as safe as possible:))) And, what's most important, the staff was so friendly, kind, and helpful that I really felt at home, and the welcome note from Miguel was so heartwarming. I was very lucky to have the opportunity to stay here and would be happy to visit "Anjo Azul" again. Best wishes and warmest regards to the whole team, and special thanks to Miguel, Gisela and Paula! Muito obrigada!

I would love to stay longer)) but unfortunately I couldn't)

It is a quirky guest house but charming! Miguel, Elena, and Gisella were wonderful, friendly, seasoned and very helpful front desk staff. A big shoutout to Luba and the other lady for keeping the place clean and nice! The location is perfect in Bairro Alto. Elena recommended a couple of wonderful local restaurants in the neighbourhood and highlighted places of interest to visit and the best way to get there. I'd stay at Anjol Anzul again!

This property does not have an elevator. It has a narrow stairs that goes up to the 4th floor. If you're not keen on climbing stairs, it's best to request a room on the main floor. The location is on a hilly slope (like most Lisbon houses).

As two gay men, it was perfect. Used Uber for transportation. Very hilly, narrow streets. Great exercise! Wonderful small bar, restaurants all over the area. Room was great. Very clean. Staff far exceeded expectations. Room was beautiful, balcony out to the street. Our room was right over the front door. Staff made espresso for you before you go out in the morning! Folded all our strewn clothes when they tidied the room. Gave great suggestions for places to eat and drink. Everyone they suggested was exactly what we hoped for. Sorry some scenery photos from Porto got mixed in and I couldn’t delete

No breakfast but not a problem; restaurants all over.
