Great location about a 10 min walk to the Rato subway station. We dropped off our rental car at the airport and took public transportation into the city. We also had a nice queen sized bed. The staff was extremely helpful and sold us a 24-hour metro card that we used extensively. The breakfast was one of the best that we had in Portugal.

When we arrived, we could not figure out what button to push to get service and open the guest house door. First impression was not very good: The entrance/foyer rug looked a bit worn and made the place feel a little run-down. It felt a bit odd to have to walk up then down to get to the reception area, but that's not a deal breaker. It is a historical building, after all!

The staff was sooo friendly! They really made me feel very welcomed as a solo traveler. The room was very very spacious and located in a neighborhood with plenty of restaurants and bars. Also close to bus stops as well.

Please note that this hotel does not have an elevator, If you have accessibility issues this Might be a problem. Also Be aware this property is on the top of a hill from…all angles. If you don’t take a bus to the nearest station, you’ll be walking uphill a lot.

Breakfast was very complete. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was very spacious, the location is really great, just a 10 minute walk to the main centre and lots of restaurants on the way. The view from our 3rd floor window was amazing. The staff was also very helpful and kind. Something to highlight is that they provide you with fresh water and a small bottle of wine upon your arrival. Room has a minibar, so that’s very useful!

- No elevator, very steep stairs. - Cleaning details but nothing serious. - Could add more vegan options for breakfast. - Toilet paper could have been of better quality. - The room was a bit small, if you have a lot of luggage you won’t have a lot of storage space. - And also, please put more hangers for clothes, only 3 in our room. Apart from these small details, we would definitely stay here again.

Excellent breakfast, many options for both sweet and salty breakfast. Tea and coffee available all day. Room with double bed, tv, chair, small table, armchair, fridge, big bathroom with hot water. Located in one of many hills in Lisboa, if you are coming by Metro and do not want to climb a hill carrying your baggage, do not listen to Google maps that will tell you to get out of the metro on the Avenida station. Choose station RATO instead, it is a few steps farther away but you will walk on a flat street. :) Very friendly and helpful staff - we got map of Lisbon and recommendations of places to go, also some useful tips on how to move around the city.

I spent hours on booking trying to find a good value for money place, and we absolutely loved everything about this little hotel! It is located just a few steps away from transports or within a short walking distance to main attractions. It was so quiet in our room that we first thought we were alone in the hotel, but then saw a lot of other guests at the breakfast. The room is not very big but has everything: comfortable bed, an armchair to relax, nice courtyard view, a small refrigerator and wardrobe to hang the clothes. There’s also a tv, an air conditioner and full set of toiletries. The staff is very welcoming. I was afraid that it might be cold in the room, but it was so warm that we had to open the windows to let some fresh air. Breakfast has a lot of options, very good. I would definitely stay in this hotel during my next visit to Lisbon. Beautiful place and an excellent value for money.

There’s nothing to add here

Very good location, we were able to walk to most of the attractions. The staff was attentive and personable, breakfast was perfect, with a good mix of sweet and savory food items. The building itself was very old and charming, located on a side street, away from heavy traffic noises. Just up the street there is a lovely little park where to relax at one of the kiosks.

The room felt a little smaller than anticipated, the bathroom was also small and basic, water pressure was not great and mixing hot and cold water was not ideal. Our windows faced the street and some noise from walkers by in the middle of the night was inevitable, especially on the first floor. Please be aware that, if you have heavy suitcases, there is no elevator and the steps are particularly narrow and steep.

I think this is one of the nicest places I have ever stayed. No, its not a swanky 5* star hotel all shiny and glittery. And I have stayed in those. Rather, its a sympathetically restored building converted into a small boutique hotel. Possibly the best thing about this place is the staff. I have never before encountered hotel staff who are so delightful. I really found their smiles, helpfulness and friendliness to be genuine. They make every effort to ensure you feel at ease, comfortable and looked after. Such a lovely group of people. My room was just what I hoped for. Yes, a 4th floor walk up but I thought it was perfect.

The staff was just amazing. Always welcoming us with a big smile. Provided a lot of information and recommendations about the city, nice surprise for my birthday as well :) Breakfast was very diverse and tasty. After breakfast they will leave some cakes for the guests the enjoy for the rest of the day :) Overall the views and the interiors are very nice and cosy, we highly recommend and would definitely consider coming back here again.

There seemed to be some maintenace in the room above us. This resulted in waking us up sometimes early in the morning to some noice. In general the wooden floor and ceiling are pretty noisy when walking around. However, the rest highly compensates for this inconvenience.

The staff, including Bruna, Priscila, Lorenzza, and Denise were all awesome. They delivered a take away breakfast for us when they learned we had to leave early. The breakfast had lots of choices, including vegetarian, and the room was quiet, which was a nice surprise being so close to the middle of everything. The hotel is a very clean and thoughtfully renovated 18th century building with all the modern conveniences but with all cool stuff, like the original wood floors and interior doors still intact.

This may matter to some, but not to us. The hotel is a twenty minute walk to the city center, but there are so many restaurants, tapa bars, and even parks along the way that the location was still okay for us. In fact, we found a great park with city views just ten minutes walk from the hotel.

I was taken by surprise with my stay at Casa do Jasmim as I came across this accommodation accidentally. Everything was perfect. Beautiful and tastefully decorated rooms. Exceptionally friendly and helpful members of staff. The location was superb and I don't have a single negative comment to make about it. I return here again this coming week and am so glad to have discovered the hotels of Shaidu.

Being an old building, we had the problem of slight sewage smell in our bathroom. A member of staff did attend to this matter but unfortunately it was a persistent problem. Coming from Thailand, we are used to this and it didn't bother me too much but to someone else, it may be intolerable.
