I liked everything, the staff were so welcoming and inviting. The rooms were nice, fresh and quiet. The “mamas dinner” was worth going to the first night to get to know people. I would stay here again and this was my first hostel experience. Very central and easy to find and go out at night and explore. The rooms have their own hallway so there is space between the sleeping area and the common area.

There could have been more food during the night when coming back to the hostel after at night out. There was empanadas one night and it was perfect, thanks to Ivo who worked evenings/nights in the bar/reception and we as guests felt to continue the party due to the warm welcoming back from a night out!

Super friendly staff (mostly other travellers). This is not a "party hostel"--the raucousness occurs on pub crawls off-site, and doesn't come back to the dorms--but a social hub revolving around dinners, plus facilities that match the higher price point. Accordingly, guests were mostly beyond their shoestring budget years, with the average age during my stay (in January) in the late 20s to early 40s. I hear the hostel has such a good vibe that previous/non-guests often return to drink at the bar and partake in paid hostel events. Other pluses: immaculate bathrooms (whereas inferior hostels just have cleaners come through once per day, these were cleaned every few hours). Great common space, and wifi in the common spaces was strong enough for a couple of remote workers. Spacious wooden lockers under the beds.

My bed shook all night, even though there was no one below me--presumably from the guest shifting in the top bunk adjoining mine. I had assumed the wooden beds would be sturdy enough to prevent this, but maybe not... Wifi didn't reach my room (on the upper floors) all the time.

My husband and i had an incredible stay at this hotel! The beauty of the hotel is simply breathtaking, with elegant decor and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The location is excellent, making it easy to explore all the nearby attractions, shops, and restaurants. The highlight of my stay, however, was the amazing staff. They were incredibly kind, helpful, and always went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed. From check-in to check-out, their hospitality made my experience truly unforgettable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a wonderful stay! Thank you so much.

This is one of the coziest hostels I've ever stayed at! The staff was very welcoming, kind and nice. The rooms were nicely decorated, the beds were comfortable, and the breakfast was very, very tasy and fresh. When I'll come back to Lisbon, I will stay here again. :)

Only one thing- I noticed the symbols on the shower rooms cause a bit of a confusion among people staying there. There was a shower room on the third floor that was marked with a lips symbol, so I thought it's for women only. I was very surprised when a man entered there...and he was convinced it's a shared shower room although other rooms had a mustache on them. It would be worth re-evaluating these symbols and maybe changing the signs on the doors to ones that communicate more clearly.

The location of the hostel is quite central. The staff was very friendly and always available to help with any issues. Because of the common areas and breakfast room you have a good chance to meet other travellers and socialise.

I couldn’t sleep very well because people were entering and leaving the rooms at different times. Besides, the lockers under the beds are a bit old and it was not possible not to make any noise while opening and closing them. Overall, I think it is part of the stay and the staff cannot do much about people coming to the room at different times.

Room and bed: - Very spacious room and bed. Locker easily fit medium sized luggage case and 25L backpack. Private bed curtains for privacy. Very clean room and hostel amenities. Breakfast: - Great variety of options for breakfast. Activities and social atmosphere: - Great atmosphere amongst guests at hostel. Great activities including Mamma's dinner, a tastely and very homely 50 person dinner on a long banquet style table, primed for conversation and socialising amongst guests, daily walking tours around the neighbourhoods and cultural landmarks of Lisbon and a great pub crawl experience.

Bathrooms and showers: - No room private bathrooms. Floor-based central bathrooms and showers were very humid, regardless of time of access.

Honestly the best hostel I’ve ever stayed. I know we all wanted to find a stay that offers genuine connection, my god has Home hostel delivered. From the moment you set foot into this hostel, you can already sense the vibe is warm and unique, everything a home feels like. I think it reflects on how this place treats their employee cause everyone is genuinely warm and kind. Even Sintra tour (highly recommend) guide was a reception for Home for 10 years and then stayed to become a tour guide. The ability to keep your employees for years speak loud and clear about this place. And the home dinner with Mama is a must to experience. I’ve haven’t felt this big family dinner vibe for years. I’ve made so many lifelong friends here. 100000000/10

Home hostel was my first ever hostel experience, and it’s safe to say I don’t think anything could ever match it. The staff was super nice, the community was great, and everything was super comfortable. Every night, you had an opportunity to have Mama’s dinner, a three course Portuguese dinner cooked by hand, and a pub crawl with the hostel, both ways to make a ton of new friends. Even if you don’t choose to do the dinner or pub crawl, everyone is so welcoming and open to meeting you that you’ll never have any trouble finding your people. The hostel was also central to many different attractions, which made it extremely convenient. I can’t recommend home hostel enough.

Home Lisbon hostel is really good if you like the familiar feeling of being around friends and family, even when you travel alone. The atmosphere created by Mamma makes people come together and enjoy breakfast or dinner, watch a movie, go out. There is a lot of love in this house, and it invites you to share and contribute! The beds are good and a bit private with separate curtains and your own space, the showers are very clean and very nice with good pressure and lots of hot water. It is easy to do laundry and you can exchange cash for the washing machine at the bar. The hostel invites you to hang out, kill your thirst at the bar or fill your belly, and the staff is really friendly and helpful if you ask! During your stay you can communicate with the reception through WhatsApp, which is really easy and convenient, and you will receive a very caring text asking if everything is okay to keep the environment friendly and safe for everyone! I would like to think that I am coming back 🫶

No soap in the shower. Not because there has to be body wash, but most places have that so it was a surprise. Please notice that the elevator doesn’t start until one stair up. From there it is small, but works like a charm!

It’s fairly central and hence I was able to get to almost all the places I wanted to visit by foot. For Belém and other farther areas I was able to find transportation 5 min away from there. In general personnel and guests were nice and I felt a good atmosphere during my stay.

I stayed on the 2nd floor. There’s a room that connects to the women’s toilet where ppl smoke. Theres so bad ventilation and the smoke filters in like if they were smoking inside. Not a good feeling in the toilet specially if you don’t smoke and are fresh showered 🥹 I guess they need to fix it. Also my charger burned in one outlet and I had to spend 10 eur that I did not consider in budget for a new one. My charger was in very good conditions, there’s something wrong coz I reported it did not charge from my room either. They did not recover my charger, which I considered bad for my circumstances as a guest.
