Beautiful location, with an awesome view. The restaurant serves incredible food and the hostel itself is a really nice old building which has been renovated to feel classy but heritage. Everything is really clean and the staff are all fun and nice to be around.

The three level bunk beds were treacherous to get up, especially in the night when you didn’t want to wake others. I was on the very top so every time someone moved it shook the whole bunk bed and I didn’t sleep much at all. The bed and pillow was rock hard and as you are up so high the smells of everyone in the room and the heat is a bit much. There were some staff members laughing at me for being alone in the restaurant and making jokes in Portuguese thinking I wouldn’t know.

Unfortunately my passport, phone and wallet were stolen on the first morning of my stay. It really cost me to go to the bathroom for a few minutes. It's not the hotel's fault, I really understand, I should have been more careful but I'm sorry my Lisbon adventure didn't turn out well. The lady with glasses whose name I forgot to ask at the reception really, really helped me a lot, supported me at all times and stood by me in this bad process. I am very, very grateful to her. I hope we meet again in the future, thank you.

The location, air conditioning, free welcome drink, breakfast, kind staff, and the comedy beds!

Our room did not have a curtain which made it very difficult to sleep with all the lights from outside. Also there was a loud festival going on outside, and it was very loud inside the rooms at night. But I don't blame the hotel I just had to wake up early myself :)

Probably the best and prettiest hostel I have stayed in while travelling around European cities for 3.5 months straight. The building itself is high ceiling, the interior decor is absolutely stunning and the staffs are all extremely kind and warm towards all guests. Each room floor has their own common area, which includes a common space for travellers to hang out, and a kitchen. There are two seperate toilets each floor for both males and females (4 in total), which has 6 cubicles in each toilet room. The A/C is constantly running, which means you don't have to worry asking reception to turn it on. The room I stayed in was a 12 bed dorm, and was extremely spacious, and I did not feel uncomfortable / stuffy.

I wished the temperature of the AC was adjustable, as the AC was constantly running it got to a point where it was quite cold, and even though the staff tried coming up to turn it up for me, she had no luck (i think the temperature was set to a certain degree). I wished there were more space to put our toiletries and clothes in the showering cubicles. There was only one stool for 3 showering cubicles.

Upon arriving at the hotel I discovered that there was an issue with my room. The manager went out of his way to accommodate by moving me to their property in the Bica district. He actually drove me to the Bica hotel and retrieved my bags the next day once the issue was resolved. I also found a generous credit at the hotel restaurant under my door when I returned that evening. Both hotels were comfortable and provided unique experiences in different parts of the city. The excellent treatment I received from all of their people made it an memorable stay. The suite at the Principe Real was especially comfortable with its two chairs and the private balcony. I will definitely be returning in the future.

My lack of foresight for not booking a longer stay.

I really liked the vibe of the place - it's GORGEOUS, first of all, and in an incredible location across from one of the best views in the City! The triple-decker bunk bed were great. I was on the bottom bunk so I can't speak to the comfort of the other bunks, but mine was extremely comfortable. There are individual plugs and lights in each bunk, which is an amazing hostel feature I now look for. Staff were great, and I felt very safe there. They even had soy milk for breakfast! Plus, they give you a free drink voucher! It's not a party hostel but you can meet people if you want. 10/10, would recommend to all!

Breakfast didn't have great vegan options, but I wasn't really expecting much.

Lovely location. Beautiful Heritage building. Dormitory rooms were quite spacious and beds were very comfortable. Staff very friendly and language (English) was readily available. Large windows opened right up onto main street which was very charming but could close at night for a quieter sleep.

I was travelling with friends who chose suites for private sleeping. I was in the dormitory rooms. I felt uncomfortable in the morning, when they got a menu for breakfast and I was not offered the same. This made me feel awkward and like I was not part of our group. I think a small draw curtain on the lower dormitory bunks would offer more privacy. This would also help with the light in the rooms when people come in at different times and others are sleeping. Just a simple cotton curtain on a clothesline would work. I tucked my towel and a small throw blanket I travel with into the bunk frame above around my bed. That worked pretty well.

This location is unbeatable! Situated opposite a scenic viewpoint, it's conveniently close to numerous major attractions. The staff were consistently supportive. The building is in great shape! The communal showers were well-maintained, featuring strong water pressure and comfortably warm temperatures. Each bed in the shared dormitory was equipped with its own light and a conveniently placed outlet for charging electronic devices.

The lockers in each room are clearly labeled with the corresponding bed number. However, upon arrival, one might find that their assigned locker is already in use. While I recognize this issue often stems from guest behavior rather than hotel management, it would be beneficial if measures could be taken to address it. Additionally, this was my first experience with a three-tier bunk bed, and being assigned the topmost bed was somewhat daunting, particularly when descending in the dark.

Only Location is good . But you can find better quality hostels with good location and staff. The only hostel with a good booking score that I was not satisfied with. I regret it.

I think all the staff from the reception to the kitchen are unhappy. None of them smile and they look unhappy. The location of the hostel is good but there is no spirit in the hostel, I couldn't get an energy. After staying for 2 days, I moved to a different place without wanting to stay more. The bathrooms are beyond terrible. You can't even move while taking a shower. The worst shower cabin I have ever seen in my life.

Location was perfect, right outside a tram and bus stop and opposite a fantastic viewpoint. Room was big, clean and the bed was fantastically comfy. Lots of reviews mention noise but I thought it was exceptionally quiet and I didn't need earplugs even being a light sleeper. The bar upstairs was closed that the time though so maybe that would have made a difference. We were given a welcome drink token which was a nice touch. Breakfast was good, I really can't fault it.
