Rio do Prado

We really enjoyed our stay at the Rio do Prado. It is a pretty unique place with a very good eco-design concept at its relaxing country location. Very close to the fabulous beaches and lagoon of Foz do Arelho (driving distance about 20 minutes). The bedrooms are quirky but not in any way unwelcoming. We slept beautifully in our Superior Suite room. The outdoor pool is very relaxing, and the indoor areas (very good libraries) are very good. Breakfast was very good; dinner at the hotel is good with some fine vegetarian options. Wine selection is good and the hotel and restaurant staff are all very friendly and helpful.

Wonderful establishment, with stunning rooms and overall ambiance. Great breakfast. Majority of the staff is extremely nice (especially the reception team). Restaurant is good with a solid menu. All in all one of the best stays we have experienced. Next time we are in Portugal we will definitely try to include this in our itinerary again.

My one negative thing to say is that while the restaurant prices are quite standard for the level of quality, I feel like the snacks and cocktails menu goes a bit over the top (initial sin being that objectively not all cocktail’s can have the same price and the prices are not really proportionate to the restaurant menu.

Very special property, interesting architecture, the fire place was great, the concept was cool.

We didn’t get any explanations: about the place about how breakfast works about what facilities are available. We felt completely ignored upon arrival, the hotel even hung up the phone on us when we called to ask a few things. On our last day with a different staff member things looked very different but we were already leaving sadly

Our stay in Rio do Prado was an unexpected very needed surprise. After a week camping in a music festival, Rio do Prado was like an oasis of comfort, quiet and impeccable service. The common areas are beautiful and inviting and perfect to lose yourself in a good book. The food is delicious and inventive and we had no reason to leave the property for the entire duration of our stay, and we don’t regret it. We booked another stay before checking out!

This property offers an ideal retreat for those seeking to disconnect from their daily concerns and indulge in a relaxing moment in the middle of the nature without sacrificing all the usual comfort. The hotel also has a splendid library, one of the finest restaurants in the region, and a dedicated staff with a relentless commitment to attending to the needs of their clients.

Very Spacious room. Room very comfortable and modern and clean. Excellent Breakfast. No problem of parking. Quiet and merged into the nature: all rooms at ground floor.

Not easy to get from the parking to the room. In the middle of nowhere...about 3km from Obidos...

The breakfast was great! Had plenty of variety and everything was tasty. The room was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable and big. The staff was very kind and accessible. The facilities were amazing. The location was very peaceful.

The signal was terrible. The wifi's signal wasn't great either. Very hard to be able to communicate with the "outside world".

The integration of the rooms with the landscape makes this place a special one! The staff and all the amenities were excellent. More then recommend I will be going back.

If there is something to point out, maybe only the overpriced and underserved meals at the restaurant. With the Hotel being a bit far away from other dinning options there could be some improvement here. - the food is great, you just don't have lower budget choices.

Spacious, comfy room, helpful staff, nice grounds. Plenty of choice at breakfast. I would have have loved to enjoy the bath but there's a drought so it wouldhave been irresponsible.

Needed a 'compost' bin for fõod waste in the room. Dinner was disappointing; the cheese and soup were bland - I've had tastier fare from a €7 menu do dia - although the duck was nice . Only one comfy chair in our room - I never understand why this happens in a room designed for two people.

We were on a trip from Porto to Lisbon and decided to make a stop at Rio de Prado. This is a special and quiet place. Definitely not a hotel and not an Airbnb. We have never been to such a place that makes use of the materials that nature gives us. Everything there is natural from natural materials. The staff was also nice and kind.
