This may be the top end of hotel accommodation in surf Mecca Baleal and is a very enjoyable place to stay. Stripped down shabby chic feel, friendly staff and never too busy (though the ground floor restaurants can get busy since not just for hotel guests, and food is decent). Not too big so feels personal and always relaxed. Highlights are the rooftop sun lounging and pool/jacuzzi area (was never too busy, great views), the breakfast (amazing) and surf lessons from João Maria! Great hotel for families, but doesn't feel dominated by families, good mix of people.

Location is fine but at the top of the hill to main central area where beaches and peninsula restaurants and bars are (only 10-15 min walk, but hot hot walk). Generally the hotel feels like it could be awesome but has a series of little things that sometimes let it down - nothing major, but for the price you might have expected a bit more e.g. failed batteries in room door and security box door, e.g. the rooftop terrace has a bar but it is never open and so we went up and down to the ground floor to get drinks (we didn't mind, but as I say, for the room price...).

We had an amazing stay and the fact that everything you need is in the hotel itself, including yoga, rooftop terrace with pool/jacuzzi and most importantly the surfing school in the basement where you get dressed and equipped on the spot and driven to the beach with instructor and back to hotel and quick access to your room for a hot shower! The food was delicious and fresh and they accommodated my daughter's dietary needs. We rarely go back to the same places, but we would come back to the easygoingness of Surfer's Lodge

Nothing we disliked. It would be nice to maybe have bathrobes after surfing and maybe more bathroom amenities like body lotion, shampoo and conditioner.

I didn't know what to expect from the photos. Either they could have been too good to be true or just ok but the facilities here are beautiful and sooo cool. I didn't even know they had a pool that was an added bonus. The room was great and met every need.

Really nothing but it would be really cool if they provided beach towels.

Breakfast has a great selection and you can also always order any type of coffee / drink Id just recommend to change a little the way chef works during breakfast since both times we had breakfast didn’t have any pancakes left or very little bacon & hot dishes But that’s not a deal breaker, the offer is quite wide anyway

The vibe, cleanliness and staff . Easy walk to the beach and superb private surf lessons with good quality equipment. Breakfast delicious

The rooms are very close to each other so inevitable that there is some corridor and door noise. I would recommend booking a suite if you can.

Very small bathroom with little privacy, no coffee/tea facilities in the room. Surfing lessons were very good, but overpriced compared to other providers.

Everything was great, food at resto was fabulous and staff very attentive. The room was clean and comfortable

There was a horrible smell when we turned on the a/c. Maybe filter needs to be changed? (Room 2)

small room, very small toilet and just one use for all body/hair gel, in general expensive for what you get rooftop terrace/pool was having a private event which limits other guest use of the facilities

we stayed in a twin room and was absolutely cozy, charming and stylish.. we loved the details of the decor. the breakfast was delicious with freshly made juices and prepared at the moment for COVID safety matter. you could have rent skates and bikes for free. book your yoga and surfing classes or just hang on the rooftop pool.. the beach is 5 min walking distance and the view will leave you mesmerised. what can I say.. we wished we stayed longer…

would add a shampoo along with the body wash
