We were looking for a stay around the middle of an island, so it is not far to reach the corners of the island, so Vale Mar has delivered this. It is positioned in a calm and nice town, which we enjoyed. The bed was comfortable and both of us had a set of 3 pillows with different stiffness to choose from, which is great. It had a mini-kitchen, so it was good for basic cooking.

There were a few things: there was an odd smell in the room to begin with, and while we aired the room well, the freshly brought towels had the same smell. Secondly, it is in front of a football stadium, so they may be practising loudly until 9 or 10 pm, but this is not heard very well if the windows are closed. It would be nice (not a must) to have a chopping board, a better knife, and some kitchen essential items like salt, oil, etc. in the room.

Exceptionally clean, large space, balcony, friendly and lovely staff, good communication with renters (we asked for twin beds but got double, upon letting them know about it, they rapidly fixed it). It was quiet in and around the building, ample windows to let the breeze in, good water pressure and ample hot water. Super close to the center. It wasn't difficult to find parking in the street above in late May (paid, but we were out and about most days so it turned out quite cheap for us). The lighting could be a little softer but it can be adjusted by lighting up lamps and creating ambient lighting from the next room. The beds have spring mattresses which can be a bit uncomfortable for very sensitive people. They didn't bother me, and my friend fixed it by laying on top of some spare blankets (which there were plenty of!). It can be improved with a foam top mattress, but it is not a big deal. All in all a wonderful experience and I would gladly stay here again! 😊

Simple accomodation in a small non touristy town. It is very close to the center and the beach. We were lucky to find the parking on the street nearby. It was free after 7PM. The building has an elevator and two large shared terraces. We booked a Junior suite for one night. It had a comfy bed, small kitchenette with basic utensils, table for two and TV. Room and private bathroom were clean. We also had a balcony with the town view. We had a nice evening walk to the center and the promenade. There are also good grocery stores in the center. The area was very quiet.

No dishtowel in the kitchenette.

We had the opportunity to stay at this hotel located in the beautiful mountains and were pleasantly surprised. The hotel does not have a reception, but self-check-in is very well organized. One of the advantages of this hotel is its location. You will be able to enjoy breathtaking views of the mountains from your personal balcony, as well as enjoy the natural beauty around. The hotel kitchen is equipped with the necessary utensils so that you can prepare your own meals if you wish. A large room and a good bathroom add comfort to your stay. It was especially pleasant to spend time on the balcony, enjoying the fresh air and the view of the mountains. Overall, this hotel has its pros and cons, but if you're looking for a place with a great location in the mountains and are willing to sacrifice some amenities, this could be a good option for your holiday.

There are a few downsides worth noting. The hotel is located near the main road and it can be very noisy at night, which can disturb your peace. It should also be taken into account that the hotel is not equipped with air conditioning, and in the hot season it can be inconvenient.

Arrived and used the codes to enter the building. The building was very clean and tidy. The room was fab, the views were fab through the two windows. Looking over the town and out to sea. One of the windows had a small veranda to sit on. We were very close to numerous eateries, bars, shops and supermarkets. Also some great walks by the sea and if you wanted toward the next two towns to the west using vehicle tunnels with walk ways at the side. The apartment was fab, bed was very comfy, and we used the cooking facilities. Also had a fridge, great for our four days, the front of Riviera Brava was great. Sitting watching the waves. Weather was around 20-21 each day. Walked to Ponta do Sol one day and returned the higher route, great views from the hills.

We liked everything.

This hotel was exceptional value for money. I was expecting much more basic accommodation for the money. The self-checkin was straightforward. The apartment was spacious and well equipped. Some snacks and tea/coffee were provided. There was an outdoors seating area. It was on the edge of the small town centre so sea front, restaurants and the excellent local museum were within easy walking. There was obviously a cycling group staying and they were able to leave their bikes in relative security in the foyer.

The view was rather drab and there was quite a lot of traffic noise - I think it reverberates around the narrow valley. But really, at this price, you couldn't complain.

The location was perfect, close to the center:) There is a cooker, microwave, kettle, and plates, pan, pot.. everything you need. They send you codes for the door to open, there are no keys.

Only the mattresses, there are two of them instead of one, which makes it uncomfortable in the middle. But otherwise we slept really well in there, we would choose this accommodation also next time.

Ideal setup to chill, work, or explore from here. Loved having a desk with a view! Housekeeping service was a pleasant surprise too!

There was a weird smell in the closet, not bad or even unpleasant, just distinct. Wish there was a fan or AC just to circulate the air; the temperature was comfortable though.

You provide your own breakfast, facilities good. While all Madeira rooms have high standards of housekeeping, this is very good value and commensurate. Handy for bus "Station", parking might be a problem, but I don't go on holiday to go driving myself. 5 minute walk to either supermarket, beach 6m.. My 3rd visit, intend to call again: Ribeira Brava is quieter than Funchal, and well located for recreational walking routes.

The building's security is questionable, so you act accordingly. Like I said, would stay again.

Lovely little flat in a great small peaceful town. The flat is ideal for solo travellers, couples and could easy get a family of four in here. Pizza restaurant below , minutes walk to beach front ......few miles from the spectacular Levada de Tabua. Municipal Football pitch outside front door (great to see they have Grannie training sessions:-). Supermarket near beach front but if you walk up the valley there is a large Continente. Highly recommend restaurant on the Church Square corner (look for the black and white pictures of the nuns on the wall) food is fantastic there and at very reasonable prices. Eco adventure travellers this is a great base.
