It’s a large establishment with all facilities included despite Tomar being a relatively small town. The location is great and can be used as a base for Tomar-Coimbra-Evora all together. The room was very comfortable and well-equipped. We had booked one with a balcony facing the river hence we also had a great view. The Concierge desk also helped us to find and excellent guide for sightseeing.

The only thing that jarred a bit was that the hotel charged us for providing just cutlery and plates (both empty). We had ordered our own food from outside because we did not find enough vegetarian options in the hotel menu. We didn’t have plates and cutlery. We asked for plates to be sent to the room and then realised we forgot cutlery so we requested that separately. We got both pretty quickly but at the time were not told about the charge. AT checkout we were charged 5 Euros each for these two things. The charge was not a lot and its not about the money, but it did not feel good to be charged for these small things, and that too, without warning. A small thing, but I think the hotel should take care of it. Other than that, it was a great stay.

Hotel grounds are nice (lovely indoor/outdoor pool), great breakfast and dinner in the restaurant, beautiful hotel lobby with bar and piano player, excellent location just a short walk from town. Note that if you use the indoor pool you need a bathing cap which you can purchase for 2 EUR at the front desk.

All was great but couple minor things: outdoor pool was freezing in July so would be nice if it could be heated. We did enjoy the indoor pool though. Would suggest adding a power strip as there was only one outlet by the table and enable hanging the hand shower up to function like a regular shower (would otherwise hand vertically spraying water out the back and all over the bathroom). Would be nice to provide eco friendly larger containers of shampoo and soap instead of tiny individual bottles.

The room was very large, with an area for a chair, a coffee table, and a large countertop in addition to the desk/refrigerator/tv cabinet. The room had a foyer with two huge closets and a place to open a suitcase, and was separated from the bedroom by a door. The bathroom was also large, with an especially large countertop—a real rarity. The hotel provided plenty of shampoo and bath gel, as well as one bath towel, one hand towel, and one bidet cloth per person. We had a small balcony with 2 chairs and a table, but we did not use them. The hotel lobby was massive and impressive, and there were 2 elevators to go to guest rooms.

The separate shower was clearly an afterthought. It was small, so one had to be careful not to turn the water on too strong or it would shoot out the door before one could get it. It was impossible to move around without hitting a glass wall. The maintenance of the shower was not good, with mold and soap scum showing in several areas along the caulking. Ick! The separate tub was large, but we don’t take baths.

Stunning location, and the reception area smells wonderful as you walk in. The staff are extremely helpful and no ask is too much (certainly our experience over the years). The bedrooms are a generous size, and luxurious (my 9-year old mentioned wishing to move in!). On this occasion, we had to leave early so they happily provided us with breakfast bags and my goodness, they were extensive! Water, juice, three types of filled breads, cake and apples. Absolutely enormous. (As an aside, the breakfast is worth staying for generally, so much choice and delicious). Highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel facilities were great everywhere. The furniture, indoor heated pool and outdoor pool, the bar area, lobby, the snooker table, etc. Location was great. F&B team was top, their service was super. The night room service menu is great, congrats! Room size was great, and the balconies are very pleasant.

Can't give top points to a hotel with no comp water (unless provided by the minibar, at a fee) and no coffee machine in the room. Morning FO team could be more proactive at early check ins.

It’s a spacious hotel from foyer to hallways to the rooms. Great balcony overlooking the old town, pool and the pretty river. Very comfortable room and generous breakfast. Great staff.

The one thing I didn’t like was the poor WiFi, both signal strength and speed were too low to be useful. They did offer to relocate us to a room closer to the router but we elected not to pack and move and used cellular data. All rooms should have good WiFi these days.

Great stay. We really enjoyed the confort of the room, the breakfast and the pools.

A bit aged hotel. Some facilities in need of renovations/refreshing (e.g. bathrooms and common dressing rooms). Hydromassage was not working and we were not informed of it at the time of the booking. The restaurant is too expensive and the portions are small. We also noticed that the dinner menu was the same every day.

Very comfortable room with balcony. Spacious dining room with a variety of tables for dining alone, or with groups of friends who were also staying there.

No drinking water for guests. I seem to remember on past visits there were jugs of iced water and lemon available in the reception area for guests to drink when coming in from the heat. In this day and age, when many of us use insulated bottles to carry chilled water around, it would be sensible to have a chilled water dispenser in the lobby for guests to use. I had to buy bottled water and chill it in my minibar fridge to fill up my bottle every day.
