The location is perfect for visiting Lacock. Our room faced right out into the cute village. I was very happy to find that this was a dog friendly B&B, so that we could bring our little poodles. Our evening meal was delicious! The nicest shin of beef with bourguinon sauce and a delicious chocolate caramel cheesecake! Breakfast served in the restaurant in the morning was 10/10

Although it was mostly clean the mirror in the bathroom was dusty and hadn’t been cleaned. And there were some dusty cobwebs in the bedroom. Only an issue for me as I have a dust allergy and had to go and get some allergy tablets. The TV wouldn’t connect to wifi on our iPhones, so we had to watch Netflix on our phone instead of the tv :(

Our stay at The Red Lion Inn was such a wonderful experience. The rooms are fantastic, spacious and very comfortable. The decoration was gorgeous and the view over Lacock Village was absolutely stunning. We had all the amenities we could wish for, and it was a pleasure to stay in this beautiful room. The Inn is very lively and quaint, with loads of fun night activities. Breakfast was excellent, and we had dinner one of the nights of our stay and the food was delicious. Highly recommend staying here and will definitely stay here again, hopefully soon! :) If staying here, please set aside time to enjoy the room and have a night in!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Red Lion and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the warm and friendly staff who made us all feel right at home. The location of the hotel couldn’t be better – it’s nestled in the heart of Lacock, with easy access to all the attractions. One of the highlights of our stay was the delicious food offered at the hotel’s restaurant. All our meals were excellent, and I especially loved the freshly cooked breakfast made to order. It was the perfect way to start each day of exploration. The rooms were impeccably clean and welcoming, providing a cozy retreat after a day of sightseeing. Overall, my stay at the Red Lion exceeded all expectations, thanks to the amazing staff, fantastic location, and delicious food. I can’t wait to return!

Mattress was a little uncomfortable as we do not have a sprung mattress at home.

Very comforable and quiet room, very well appointed. Great range of beers and truly excellent evening meal. Very good staff and great service. I didn't know much about the locality and the films productions made there but lots of info around the pub. Really great parking and easy access. This is a real gem of a find and no doubt I will be going back shortly. My room was absoluty clean and everthing I could need was there. Staff could not have been more helpful and the Wadsworth 6X was just brilliant!!

Nothing it was all excellent

Loved the atmosphere in the pub, old and traditional. Warm room, shower fine, own entrance for the guest rooms that avoided the bar. TV with good choice of channels. Great choice for cooked breakfasts. Open mic Sunday evening when we were there so busy but cosy with an open fire.. The rooms are over the music so if you want quiet perhaps not for you. Central for discovering the N Trust village and Lacock Abbey, their cafe just by the pub. Adventure playground looked great for kids. The staff were all very efficient, friendly and chatty.

The bed was a bit soft for us. No muesli or yogurt.

Location excellent and free car park available. Welcoming and friendly member of staff who booked us in and showed us the room. Room very clean with all facilities of a larger chain hotel. Evening meal was excellent with good choice of food and very fairly priced. Hotel was quiet and we had a very comfortable night. Breakfast was included and available until 11am - the food being cooked to order and very good. The member of staff serving breakfast was efficient and very friendly. All the staff in the hotel were great however this young lady impressed us the most.

The staircase leading to the rooms was a little dirty. In our room the tiles in the shower needed regrouting and the water in the morning was not very hot. The paintwork in both the en suite and bedroom was a little tired and could have done with a little decorative makeover.

We were staying for our anniversary weekend. All of the staff were very welcoming and friendly and even took time out to answer questions about some of the buildings in the village and to recommend local areas to visit. We had a delicious cream tea when we first arrived - lovely warm scones and very fresh. We also had a lovely evening meal there. There was a lovely selection of food. To finish our visit we had a wonderful breakfast there too. All very nice and we would definitely stay again.

Nothing.

I was really surprised by how nice this small village pub was, although obviously a really old building the rooms were really clean, bright and airy, great modern facilities (iPod dock, flat screen tv) and a lovely bathroom piping hot water. Down stairs lovely typical village pub feel but the food was amazing (steak and ale pie with oven baked new potatoes drizzled with melted butter) staff were friendly will definitely be staying when in the area again

Really nitpicking to say the bathroom tap (room3) was kind of loose and loosing water from its base rather than the spout, but didn’t detract at all from the overall experience.

The room was nicely decorated with lovely view of church and tithe barn. We only had breakfast and that was excellent. Staff were very helpful. Definitely recommend for a short stay in Laycock - beautiful little village

The Red lion is on the main high street very close to National Trust entrance and therefore does have a lot of other business during the day and can be very busy - apart from your room no other place for residents to relax.

Greeted well and looked after when they showed us the rooms, had a lovely afternoon in the bar, Came down for dinner, food was excellent, not many in the restaurant so atmosphere not great. Lovely comfortable night, breakfast again excellent and staff were very pleasant. Nice cosy open fire.

Not that busy so no atmosphere at dinner. It was very cold out and when the door opened cold draughts seem to come from everywhere
