very attractive buildings. Beautiful, well-kept grounds. Friendly welcome by a helpful receptionist. Electric car charging points very handily positioned near to the entrance. Excellent food in the restaurant.

The only slight negative was the slow speed of service in the restaurant at times both at breakfast and evening meal.

Very peaceful stay at the hotel in a room with nice furniture and paintings. The garden area was fantastic and a good place to relax with a book, especially during the day when it was very quiet. I stayed during a very hot spell but the room kept very cool, which was nice. The TV in the room had access to movies and the wifi was good. Plenty parking. Great escape from the busy mania of London, I was sad to leave.

If you are a light sleeper I'd recommend requesting a room on a higher floor, I was on the ground floor and the sound of doors and people in the room above was a bit loud at times.

Beautiful gem of a hotel set in acres of very well kept gardens with fruit trees and hidden doorways and arches and maze-like. Served by Jen who was incredibly helpful on check in, bright wine glasses to our room and enthusiastic with every enquiry. She even brought us breakfast in bed. Felt like a very personal hotel as if we were only people staying. Lovely.

One of the speed bumps on the private tree line drive is a little high so can scrape the wheel arch even if approached at 5mph or less. Drains were also emptied in the morning which meant the lovely garden outside reception where you could enjoy coffee and sunshine was mixed with a foul smell.

Breakfast was lovely on Sunday morning as plenty of choices and all freshly cooked and enough staff to cover both dining rooms lovely views while eating breakfast the garden was amazing the whole place was tucked away in the countryside and you could just fully relax and enjoy the surroundings.

Breakfast on Bank holiday Monday was a Disappointment when my wife and I turned up there was not much there people were waiting for staff to put out the basics like milk bread and bowls, tables were not cleared both dinning rooms we’re pretty full and you had only two members of staff it wasn’t there fault as they were trying to do their best but really needed more staff in the dining rooms to help even my wife commented to the waitress that if she needed help that we would help clear some tables,I don’t blame the two waitresses on shift but management need to look at staff rotas and make sure that when you have a full dining room you have appropriate numbers of staff as per day before.

The location was exceptional - away from traffic and very peaceful. The breakfast itself was great and made the stay even better value for money.

Attention to detail by the staff at breakfast - one in particular who moved at snail's pace and didn't seem to be aware of the appearance of the room, ie: chairs not put back properly once tables had been vacated. A group of Asian guests who insisted on gathering outside the bedroom block and gabbling in loud voices, even at 6.00am in the morning. We complained and the staff sorted it out.

The food was lovely and the staff pleasant and helpful. The location was also very nice.

More staff, there were only two women serving dinner and they seemed to be rushed off their feet. There was only one girl serving breakfast also. I also waited at the bar for ages, then a guy appeared, he was also the only one person serving dinner, so I wasn't surprised why I waited to so long at the bar. The radiator in my room didn't seem to work the first night, the second night it was better but seemed to make a noise. The shower would have been better if I was able to remove the hose from the wall also. The wifi in my room (39) was also non-existant. It was better in the dining/bar area.

The building and grounds were stunning. The staff were amazing especially the receptionist when we checked in and asked for assistance and information in the evening they couldn't do enough. The local area was also lovely with nice walks and a small town with plenty of places to eat and drink

Just finer details really there a small bit of black mould above the shower as well as water marks on the other walls in the bathroom, however it was obvious the room had recently been painted and decorated but the bedroom itself was spotless. The bar area needs an update if not a lighter shade of paint would do

The Reception staff were very welcoming (thank you to Petra, Mia & Abbey). Location was not far from Corsham. The house was lovely, I especially liked the chandeliers in the Breakfast Room. The bed was really comfortable. I had a room in the house and it was very peaceful and quiet. I liked that an evening meal was offered (thank you to Darcy who was waiting) and it was delicious. I can definitely recommend the Chocolate Truffle pudding. Breakfast was great too. A lovely lady there in the morning to help but I missed her name. There were photos on the walls of previous owners and a history of the house too. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to walk around the grounds - there are 6 acres to explore.

Reception was in an odd place and seemed a bit cramped for the staff there - that's more for them than me

Rooms were comfortable and well appointed. Great that there seemed to be a wheelchair accessible room for guests with less mobility (not applicable to me at this time, but interesting to note). Liked the ambience and the out of the way setting in a building of history and the public rooms were very nice. Breakfast of Eggs with local ham in hollandaise sauce was great- and the member of staff on duty was very helpful.

It was a dank day when I arrived and I thought the reception door was locked, so I run around a bit in the rain. It was another guest in the bar who helped me. The reception staff then pointed me in a general direction, and I just felt the welcome could have been a bit warmer. Would have liked a few more tea bags in the rooms and more milks.
