The hostel is in a great location making it easy to explore the area. The dorm beds are modern and comfortable and each bed has a spacious locker with an integrated charger. The dorm includes two showers and two toilets and the air conditioning works perfectly to keep the room cool. A filtered water dispenser is available which is both practical and eco-friendly.

However, despite the modern and comfortable beds, the dorms are quite cramped with little space to hang belongings. There is no guest kitchen, which can be inconvenient for budget travelers and the on-site food is very overpriced such as $10 for just four calamari rings. Last but not least the reception staff could be more friendly and welcoming.

Stayed at Bambuda while our 3 day visit to Panama from Costa Rica. We‘ve been to the Bocas 7 years ago and came back to meet up with family that was there on holidays. Bambuda is a good pick if you wang to be flexible in the town but stay a little bit away from the noice and hustle of the main streets. Rooms are small but comfortable and public terrace is also beautiful. Price is ok but in general Bocas are expensive if you want something nice. The dining tip Restaurant Octo was superb and the woman at reception who gave us the tip was a gem.

Breakfast had to be payed extra and its a pity that you just get one small cup of coffee for free. Would be a nice gesture to get to cups of coffee. At least thats what I would as a special.

We liked the views and the restaurant area. The room was quite comfortable. It was quite close to Bocas Town

They send out too many messages, emails, WhatsApps, welcomings, but when I tried to ask for help responding to their WhatsApp message no one responded! The receptionis with curly long hair was always nice, the other guy (normally morning shif) was not smiley at all and not very welcoming. Our room was in a corridor with bunk hostel beds and it was often loud. The restaurant service was quite slow and expensive.

A winning combination of engaging activities and a prime location makes Bambuda a standout accommodation. Its location ensured convenient access to endless activities, while maintaining a tranquil and restful atmosphere. The exceptional staff, however, truly elevated the experience. Their warmth and genuine care cultivated a welcoming environment, fostering a sense of belonging throughout my visit. Delightful on-site dining was another perk. The restaurant offeres delicious meals, while the bar boastes breathtaking sunset views. The dock provided additional entertainment with its playful swings and diving platform. My spacious ocean view room with a private bath completed the picture of comfort and relaxation. Surfing was undeniably the star of the show. Bambuda's partnership with Bocas Surf Sessions is a perfect pairing. Josue, our guide from Bocas Surf Sessions, proved to be an invaluable asset. His expertise allowed us to explore multiple surf breaks and select the one best suited to our skill levels. His precise instructions ensured we were perfectly positioned to catch wave after wave, resulting in the most enjoyable surfing session I've ever experienced. Overall, Bambuda exceeded expectations on every level. I highly recommend it for an exceptional and memorable vacation.

The location and decoration were very good. Room views are excepcional. The staff was very kind in general. The food was very good.

1. Poor information about breakfast price and discount promotion (only applicable if accepted by the guest during check-in for the whole stay!). 2. Unexplicable extra charge for late check out. Late check out either it's possible or not. It can't impossible first and then possible if you pay for it! Check out time was at 11:00 am. We asked 1:00 pm because our flight was at 4 pm. We were not allowed and the room was not cleaned until 2 pm. So, it was not a matter of hotel organization, but only of charging some extra dollars for no reason. 3. We were charged twice for a tour to Red Frog Beach (paid to reception and to driver). 32 USD in excess!

My room was very beautiful, I especially enjoyed the balcony with the sea view. I was staying alone in a double room, would not have needed the bunk beds, but I guess all double rooms have that. The room got cleaned every day. The staff was very helpful and I appreciated the hotel whatsapp group chat to get in contact with other guests regarding trips, sharing water taxis etc., so even though I did not stay in a dorm I could get in touch with other (solo) travellers. They offer some nice trips and you can get water taxis directly from the hotel. The food in the restaurant is good, cocktails as well. I would definitely book it again when in Bocas Town, I had a great stay and would definitely recommend!!

On two nights the water wasn't running for quite some time in the sink and shower, but the toilets still worked, so it wasn't that bad and they do have a water shortage on the island. It would have been nice if the towels had been replaced after a few days. I left them on the floor after 4 days so they would be replaced but that didn't work. So I guess best is to go and ask at reception for new towels if needed. The service in the restaurant was generally quite slow - still very friendly though, just count in enough time if you have trips planned in the morning/afternoon and are having breakfast/lunch before.

This was an amazing experience staying at Bambuda Bocas Town. Everything from check in to check out was beyond our expectations. The staff are amazing, Carolina, Edgar and Carlos made our vacation. There is a common kitchen where you can make meals, it was always spotless, they have a cleaner who is disinfecting it all the time after people are cooking. You can swim right off the dock and it’s beautiful. The location is close to markets and restaurants. There is a place called Tom’s restaurant that has 5$ plates which are awesome. We were 2 families kids were ranging from 12 to 26, we were able to save money by cooking breakfast every morning it was super easy to grab supplies the night before and put your name on it. We booked a day tour with Pablo for 25$ us and if you go down to the docks ask for him he is the best priced. The will provide a cooler with ice so you can pack food and drinks. The restaurant that they take you to is a little over priced. The tour takes you to a secluded beach where they unpack your cooler and come back and get you 2 hours later. Then you can go snorkelling and visit Starfish cove. The rooms are even better then in the pictures, beds were so comfy and the bathrooms are amazing. Every time we had an issue, for example my sister’s room had air conditioner problems and they immediately moved them rooms until it was fixed. Overall this was an exceptional experience, it is like a boutique hotel with a hostel feeling. Also just on a side note, please tip the workers if possible. They do not expect it and it literally makes their day when they receive tips.

The only thing I can think of is they need a deeper ladder to get in and out of the ocean. The other one is not their issue but just advice if you have a sensitive stomach then use bottle water, even though they have filtered water. It was advised to us to still use bottle water, we didn’t and 2 out of the 9 of us came down with a stomach bug.

The hostel has a lovely sundeck with a beautiful view of the ocean and the food they serve in their restaurant there is delicious. The staff were super friendly and helped us with organizing tours and activities wherever they could, even beyond the amazing selection of tours and activities the hostel offers (e.g.: $35 all-day boat tour to other islands, free stand up paddeling and movie night, horseback tour with a different provider whose number the hostel helped us get). The main street and many restaurants, shops, cafés etc. are also only a few minutes away.

On our last day, the whole island experienced a water shortage which meant that we could only have water for 30 minutes every two hours, which was a little inconvenient. This was however super quickly and clearly communicated and obviously in no way the hostels fault.

I don’t understand why this hotel doesn’t have 10 stars. It’s perfect. A summary of all the good things: 1. The deck. One day I literally spent the entire day at the deck, either reading a book in one of the beds, taking a swim, seeing sea-animals passing by, etc… 2. Breakfast is good and generous. I had the Caribbean breakfast every day. 3. Location is perfect. Just a few blocks far from “the noise”, yet close to several restaurants, grocery stores and to Bocas downtown. It’s walkable from/to the Almirante boats docks. 4. Staff was nice. 5. The room was perfect. 6. We took the advertised tour to Isla Zapatilla for $37, which I recommend. 7. Wifi was decent. Had a little glitch sometimes from the room, but acceptable. 8. We had a welcome drink/activity at night and used the paddle board for free on Thursday at 10am.

Nothing. Before arriving, I had the impression that I was going to pay too much for what I would get in return, but in reality, the experience at this hotel definitely met and perhaps even surpassed my expectations. Would definitely stay there again if I come to Bocas. I didn’t miss a pool because you can swim on the sea, it’s not dangerous.

The breakfast, appetizers, drinks, and dinner were so good. The staff were so friendly. It was so clean, and the architecture and view of the place were so unreal. It did not feel real. You have to come there, and I will definitely come back!!!

I wish there was just a room for women only for safety and security reasons, but other than that, I loved it.
