A charming boutique hotel, located in a renovated historical building, perfectly positioned to explore Ljubljana! Excellent staff who go the extra mile made my stay a wonderful experience. The hotel was a quiet and relaxing oasis after each busy day of exploring Slovenia. I loved my beautiful modern room with surprising comforts, including a complimentary mini-bar stocked with local drinks. I appreciated the focus on sustainability and reducing environmental impact - you won't find single use plastic here. The hotel breakfast cooked with locally sourced ingredients left me filled to the brim. The restaurant and gastro-pub, with an enviable collection of local wines and beers, are both worth trying even if you don't stay in the hotel.

Wish I could have stayed longer!

Loved the hotel and the staff! It’s located in the pedestrian zone, so they offered me free valet parking, which was very convenient as I was coming from Italy with a car. They even arranged a golf cart to take to the hotel doorsteps. The food was amazing, and they have a pub on the ground floor, offering dozens of different local beers. Thumbs up 👍🏻

Charming little hotel with character in the middle of Old town. Location is as central, as it gets, with a view on the castle and river. We loved the attentive support and suggestions from the reception and concierge. We are looking forward to our next visit.

We loved everything!

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, breakfast absolutely delicious, and all the hotel is very beautifully renovated and decorated. We would love to stay there again !

There were road works nearby at the time of our stay, but it's seemed to be almost finished.

The owners spared nothing in their renovation of this 500+ year old historic building and their efforts shine through in every detail. we just wanted to sit and admire each detail. The staff were incredible warm and helpful and made sure our stay was perfect. Julia met us at the parking lot and walked us to the hotel providing details as we walked while a college brought in our luggage. The staff made reservations for us even when they weren’t needed and made sure we took an umbrella with us. At night they fix your bed, leave a candy, and close the curtains. Each staff member was exceptional. The location couldn’t have been more central, within meters there are bars, restaurants, shops, and wonderful city sights. The breakfast was far better than most 5 star hotels. We also booked the chef’s dinner for our second night which I will write a separate review for but if you are a foodie that experience is a must.

Not a single thing!

Staff enthusiastic and passionate about the food, wine and hotel. Breakfasts huge. Food is fantastic especially the private tasting experience. Sustainable and eco friendly from the metal toiletry containers to the loose leaf teas, coffee grinder, wooden room cards to the locally sourced food. Huge room with deep bath, large shower. All the rooms are different with high quality fittings and attention to detail. Private transportation from the airport. Staff met us to take our bags from transport to the hotel as it is in a pedestrian area. It was one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had.

Absolutely nothing.

Everything was just perfect....the rooms are beautiful designed....and a well balanced combination of luxury and tradition. Food & Service was outstanding. Although this is a 5 Star hotel the staff was pretty young but well educated, never stiff always supportive and very friendly in a down to earth manner....just perfect. And not to forget the place, which is in a walking distance to old town, castle and tivoli park. Hand over your car over to the valet parking service and take it backwhen you leave.....for the meantime you would not need it. As I travel a lot and saw some very remarkable places in the world.....this one has to be added to the extraordinary hotel list for sure...

Nothing.....

Location is superb, right on the river in walking distance of everything. It was lovely to sit on our balcony with our morning coffee and the sound of the fountain. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable with some quirky features of the old building. Wonderful shower and bathroom. Can't fault anything. 5 star service from the staff, very friendly and helpful. Booked a meal for us and gave good advice on the city.

On the first day we were sat down and without being asked if we actually wanted it, given the "special welcome breakfast" which was far too much food and also as a vegetarian I couldn't eat much of. It would have been a lot better if they had explained to us on sitting down what we were going to get and provided different options. It was a massive waste of food.

We’ve been to over 30 countries, Countless 5 start hotels/ Resorts. This was literally the Best One EVER !! I cant stress enough how amazing our whole experience was. Everything was beyond our expectations :) The location is walking distance from all the main attractions. The building itself has a very beautiful story “ will leave it for you to discover on your own :) “ Gorgeous building & Interior, amazing food and the best staff EVER ! They treated us like Royals. They thought of every single detail.They left me speechless. I’m beyond happy and truly looking forward to come back to Ljubljana & Zlata Ladjica.

The hotel staff are very courteous and go out of their way to be of service. The hotel is perfectly located, and the view from the room balcony was amazing. The room in its entirety is very well and originally crafted, and provides a very unique experience. Everything in the city is close by, yet the location is quiet and relaxing.

The room doesn't have individual lighting controls, and only offers a fixed set of 3 lighting modes, which made it hard for us to utilize it with children. Once they go to sleep there was no easy way to keep part of the room dark and other well lit.
