Protea Hotel by Marriott Bloemfontein Willow Lake

The room was surprisingly nice. I wasnt expecting much as I knew that the rooms are very small, but the beds were really comfortable, everything was clean and the aircondition worked even during load shedding. The staff at reception and at the restaurant was extremely friendly and helpful.

Some parts of the hotel are run down. The outside facilities were not inviting. There were many mosquitos in the room so I had to spray it before we could stay in it.

After traveling by road for 9 hours from St Francis Bay we were told at the boom we were at the wrong hotel. The guard said it was the other Protea Marriott hotel and directed us in peak hour traffic to the other hotel - only to find that the first hotel was the correct one!! Please educate staff !!

Facilities and surroundings are cool aircon was effective and cleanliness of rooms and other areas.

The building comes across as cold and heavy with the wooden doors. Somewhat dark passages. Towels are clean but needs replacement. Some carpet vacuuming in the passage where i was staying was not done.

The reception staff was always extremely friendly and supportive. The food in the hotel's restaurant was a pleasant surprise. It was fresh, very well prepared and simply delicious. A complimentary bottle of water every day was also nice.

To my standard, some things in the room could have been cleaner or newer. A little freshen-up of the room would do I think.

Their food was excellent. They have a variety of items to choose from. The bar service was good. The staff was pleasant to deal with. The out side sitting area was great, with turkeys roaming aroung.

I can not think of anything.

Clean, comfortable room. Friendly staff - every single person wished you good morning with a smile including the cleaners. The food was good, especially the breakfast. Lots of parking and good Wi-Fi.

Service in the bar and restaurant was a bit slow. The runners on the tables were stained and needed a wash.

I only had dinner at the hotel, went out for breakfast. Dinner was scrumptious, beef stew and basmati rice with crisp fresh veggies, mouth watering... The shower was insanely big and clean and comfortable, well adjustable taps for temperature balance...

It was a bit crowded because of the rally that was in Bloemfontein. Other than that, it was absolutely amazing ❤️❤️

Staff were very friendly and professional. Rooms are big and functional. The bed was extremely comfortable.

Breakfast range was limited for Hindu guests. Aircon didn't work in the room, this should've been tested prior to guests checking in. The night staff did ensure that I get a new room with a functional aircon though. But an inconvenience nonetheless.

Rooms, restaurant, food and staff was great. Just the access card was a nuisance for me.

I had several problems with entering my room. Access cards not working properly. I had to go to reception almost every day for cards not working.

The service was amazing from start to finish, everyone was so welcoming, by far the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in whilst away on this trip. The staff were so thoughtful it was wonderful
