It’s beautiful

The staff/security are racists they told my daughter to move from the bar to accommodate white people. It’s disgusting if this is the attitude for One & Only then you will lose more customers. We can’t have this nonsense in 2022/2023. You need to address this asap. I suggest you get management to get hold my daughter or myself. We always stay at this hotel and disgusted as how my daughter was treated. White people are not superior and we pay the same amount.

We grew into the hotel, when we first arrived it felt like a “corporate” hotel, staff saying hello because they were told to rather than it being genuine. The hotel was fantastic, we had a room with a port view out of one window and table mountain out of another. The breakfast facilities are superb, the best we have encountered on our many travels.

The pool was cleaned spotlessly each morning and the attendant did a great job, there are a number of gulls that occupy the area and regular bathe in the pool or fly over. At one side of the pool there can be poop stains from the birds and some guests were also hit! We have visited other places that have taken a hawk around the poolside area and that has kept the gulls at bay, perhaps the hotel should consider something similar?

Service in the bar area - multiple occasions when we were waiting a long time, and response time was lax. Breakfast menu could have also been improved.

Waking through the entrance you are greeted by a magnificent view of table mountain. We had booked a marine harbour view room which was enormous. Our balcony was the biggest we have ever had, a delightful place to sit with a glass of wine and watch the boats. The bathroom area was beautiful with a double vanity, shower and bath. On arrival there was a bottle of wine in the room and a selection of snacks - dried fruit, biltong etc were also delivered. Breakfast was served in a beautiful dining room with views of table mountain. There was a large selection of fruit and cold cuts, a menu of cooked food and a self service are with South African specialities. Sparkling wine was offered and topped up if you wished. The pool area is over a bridge; there are some loungers but on a hot afternoon you may struggle if you don't get there early. The staff were genuinely pleasant and helpful, especially the concierge team who helped us to recover our suitcase which hadn't made the flight. I must mention Tash in particular, I think he knows everything there is to know about Cape Town and has a great sense of humour. This are of Cape Town is very safe, whenever we went out there were plenty of security staff around the streets and shops area. If we return we would certainly stay at The One and Only again.

There isn't a mirror near to a socket if you want to dry your hair.

The seagulls at the pool are a bit of a nuisance, though I'm not sure what can be done to mitigate their presence.

Very good location, just walking distance to the V&A waterfront. Great service, very good food. Also very accomodating for travelling with families travelling with children. The hotel really lives to the one and only brand very well. I would definitively come back again!

Concierge vas very helpful, and actually answered all my questions via whatsapp even before arriving, however unfortunately the cost of the tourist activities offered by the hotel was two or three times more than if booked separately on my own with other vendores. I understand the hotel would only select the best reputable suppliers to work with them, however it did feel like I was being ripped off, just because i was a client of one & only. I would suggest concierge team either revise the prices or else that they offer additional options with better prices for clients to then choose.

The design of the entire place, especially the lobby. The room size is small compared to the balcony (which is huge), and the bathroom looks great. The staff is amiable and attentive to details. The breakfast is delicious. My younger son loved playing in the kid's room.
