Place is very clean but most importantly the staff was super friendly and helpful from security, front desk to housekeeping.
When I told someone where I was staying they asked "why do I stay at a hotel for prostitutes?" Is there something I'm missing I wondered.

The rooms are quite clean and the staff is very nice. The aircon is super useful because Durban can be humid at night. The breakfast was absolutely amazing and the cashier offered to hold our very active toddler while we ate. That left a good note.
Parking is charged at R50 extra and I felt it was too expensive. The toilet door can only close when you are inside the loo. When you come out you can't close it. It's not broken, it's the design. The toilet roll is 1 ply. I wasnt happy about that.

The service was excellent.... even though the breakfast disappointed us on a first day. I like how they resolved our problem so fast, the management she was so helpful and i got helped, it seems like she noticed that my girlfriend was pregnant and she understood the challenge i had.
The noise there starts early in the morning like around 06:00 and it ends very late around 00:30 some guests dont respect the rules of the hotel. The was no swimming pool 🥺 if they think of building one it will attract more visitors, painting was not good at all on the balcony and outside the hotel, renovations has to be made.

We liked the location it a walking distance to the beach and nearby shops, the hotel is clean and smell nice, Mr mbaza the security was so welcoming and very friendly.. We even wish he was working day and night.. We all need such a bubbly person, he help us with lot of things including to fix our TV, air-condition, emergency lights during loadshedding and carrying our bags..the hotel food is so delicious. Always smiling. We'll definitely come back here
Just the drunk people on the next room making sounds and shouting till morning, we couldn't sleep. I hope you do something about this cos I also saw this complain in many of the reviews

The reception staff was EXCELLENT. Always happy , smiling and very helpful at a times .There were two ladies and one gentleman . They all looked the part . Smartly dressed and very professional. The cleaning staff were good . My room was spotless . when it comes to cleaning I take things serious . As a Director of Nursing of a large hospital this hotel was very clean . My room was very clean . Affordable . Close to beach .Less then 10 min walk . one straight road to beach . Security very visible and very helpful . Parking came in handy .
My room was next to the … I think it was a store too / linen room for cleaning staff . it was very noisy and it felt they were in my room that is how loud they spoke . The wi fi in my room was very poor . I used my own data most of the time .I was ask to pay for the parking which I refused to as Booking advertised secure parking .

Bayside 116 is in quite a convenient location, on just the right spot in what is a the busiest street in Durban. However once you enter, you are not there anymore. Very clean and well managed. The breakfast very affordable and tasty.
A quick one, since SA is in long term loadshedding, backup power might be essential for the hotel. I hope it is something that has been worked on. Or maybe add rechargeable light bulbs in the room so that it is not as dark in the room at night. A little bit of too much noise music wise in the common/bar/restaurant are.

I absolutely loved the people, they always have smiles and greet so sweetly. They always greet you with welcome drinks and I was absolutely parched. The food is honestly impeccable! A lot of high end restaurants don't make meals that delicious. Value for money! They accommodated us for a longer period due to unseen circumstances, they made it so easy and enjoy and for that I would definitely go back again soon! I received a very quick response from them.
I didn't like the fact that they didn't have chips when ordering room service. I didn't like the fact that housekeeping was meant to come to our room to clean and while we were waiting for her with the door wide open she saw that we were still in and decided to go clean another room instead of coming in letting us know she was ready, she was a very nice lady but we had no idea she was waiting for us to leave. The thing that would make me not want to stay there is the fact that they charging you parking for each day R50, so that's an added expense that hotels don't typically charge.

The stuff was super amazing always smiling and making jokes.
The treatment of restaurant stuff is bad. They don't want to take orders when we dine at the restaurant it's like we irritating them. And there's this one lady who has such attitude.she doesn't great just delivers food and goes. She has an afro light skinned. Not very welcoming to the ladies. And the restaurant menu doesn't Carter for children. Which is really bad. The menu is signed only for adults. And everytime we ordered something they don't have it. The tv was a mess. Every 5 min I had to call reception to come disconnect mduduzi from netflix on my tv. The guard didn't want to give us the remote. Which was really unpleasant. They only gave us the remote the last day of our stay. What a night mare. We didn't have our sugars and tea in the room had to request them everytime

The staff were friendly, we had welcome drinks which were so amazing The breakfast was really tasty
The fact that we tried calling reception continously the next morning for beverage pack's so well could have coffee and new cups and there were people downstairs but no one answers eventually we stopped trying. That was disappointing because if you walk down there are always people at reception. Seems like they ignored the calls. That we have to pay an extra R50 for parking, in any other hotel uu don't pay for parking, where else must the car be parked if not at the building no where else that is done. At the restaurant the hot chocolate made was so weak it was still white in colour and had no taste we had to go back and explain and ask for more hot chocolate to be added
