We had an incredible stay with Denise and Phoebe the cat. Everyday began with a breakfast at Denise's breakfast table where we shared stories and sighed about poltics or learned new things about the area's archaeological digs. Denise is a lovely, well-informed, easygoing and hospitable person. She took a lot of trouble to suggest things that we'd enjoy and things we should look out for. Even her other guests were warm and gracious and friendly. The rooms are simply delightful, very comfortable and well-equipped. The area is in a high-security neighborhood. Outside the room is a couple of tables and chair as well as the patio area you see in the picture if you just want to chill and read a book. I think the best part is that Denise relies on water tanks and solar energy, so there is no fear of load shedding or water cuts to dampen your stay. I think I could happily stay a month or more at such a comfortable place. And Denise let us use her garage to park our rental car so we weren't worried about it either.

Everything was perfect.

Great B&B in Melville. The room was very nice, everyrhing was clean and well thought out. The bathroom was very small but every corner had been used. Denise is a very friendly and outgoing host. She was always there for us and we had amazing talks whole breakfast in the morning

The bathroom was very small and the sink has been a little bit tricky because if its tiny size. But this is really a "high level" complaint. We loved our stay and would recommend it to others.

Denise was a wonderful host, extremely friendly and helpful. The room was large, well appointed and extremely clean. I stayed two nights and the room cleaning the second day was extremely good. The parking was in a secure garage with battery backup on the garage door. Breakfast was excellent. I will definitely stay here again.

The only possible improvement would be if the wi-fi had been on battery backup during load shedding. However, Denise said that her UPS batteries had just died and needed replacing so I imagine this was just a temporary condition.

Our stay at Denise’s B&B is one of the best vacation stays I’ve had in my life. Great location, lovely atmosphere, fantastic breakfast, comfertable rooms, wonderful balcony views etc. The list goes on and on. Denise is an exceptional host and she really makes all her guests feel welcomed. We decided to book another two nights here since we had such a good time. Would highly recommend

We had a lovely stay at Denise B&B. Her place is really nice, quiet and clean, well located. Cold and hot breakfast for all tastes and appetite. She made herself available to organise a shuttle at our airport arrival, that made things really easy for us. She gave us good advices to see Johannesburg and South Africa.

The only minor thing I did not like is that the sliding bathroom door leaves a gap when closing, so you can hear everything,,,

Nicely situated in a quiet living area. Cafés, restaurants and a nature reserve in walking distance. Rooms were very well equipped. The breakfast was marvellous and Denise was a super pleasant host with many helpful recommendations on things to see in Johannesburg.

Denise is an incredible host and provides the most wonderful breakfast every morning. The location is perfect—close to great restaurants and attractions—but the best thing is the hiking available just outside the door.

B&B on 8th Avenue was the perfect place to start our journey. We were looking for a personal place to stay and found this here. Denise is so kind and she knows the area so well, she always has an idea where to go and what to do. The breakfast is delicious and it s nice to have a chat with Denise and meeting the other travellers staying at the B&B.

The place is absolutely beautiful (in the nature and you wake up with the singing of birds), the room was very comfortable and the neighborhood safe. The breakfast was AMAZING: bread, jam, omelette, mushrooms, tomato, coffee, juice. Denise is a very nice person and very flexible: she offered a vegetarian option for our breakfast and due to an early flight, we also had early breakfast. We would definitely repeat if we go back to Johannesburg.
