The Weatcliff was a truly memorable experience. We arrived Christmas Eve and were upgraded to the presidential suite with views of the Johannesburg Zoo. We could see elephants in the distance. Our room was spectacular and it had a huge patio. The beds were so comfortable that now I’m researching 4 seasons beds! We ate at the restaurant Christmas Eve with family that we were visiting. It was beautifully lit with entertainment, great food and even Christmas crackers. Breakfast was an unforgettable experience with one chef whose entire job was to peel fruit. The service was impeccable from picking us up at the airport to depositing us back two days later. Everyone was warm, annd so, so welcoming. I would defintely stay at the Westcliff again. It is really beautiful.

It is a bit far from Sandton if you want o go shopping. Also, it can be a bit inconvenient seeing it is built on a hill. It is not easy to get from a high room to the bottom. You have to take little carts.

The breakfast was fine, but waiting time for omelettes and crepes was unacceptable and service in the breakfast room was in general quite slow.

Service was a little slow in general, but always very friendly. For instance, we had asked for an extra bed at then time of booking, which was not in the room when we arrived in the late afternoon of January 4th. I asked for it to be brought there while we were out for dinner, but it still as not there when we got back several hours later and it took them almost an hour to bring us the bed after I had asked for it a second time.

The Westcliffe's staff are a treasure- they are so welcoming, warm/kind/interested- and nothing is too much trouble. The whole property is immaculate, our room was beautiful with a stunning pose of flowers on arrival- plus various delicious snacks and nibbles. The room itself was large, with a large bathroom, with bath and seperate shower and WC. We had a verandah outside, which was perfect for sitting in the morning. The room was very quiet, AC worked well-- and a range of chargers and connectors for electronics/ streaming etc. Pools beautiful and the Best Gym-- huge range of modern gear, towel fridges, fruit and coffee. Nice floor mats and yoga mats. This was really appreciated by me.

Not much! I would like to see another vegetarian option or two on the menu for lunch and dinner.

Dinner and breakfast are exceptional. Staff is very friendly and go out their way to make you happy. The gardens are beautiful and the size of the suite is enjoyable. Handling of issues with management and staff is professional and obliging.

Both Swimming Pools were closed for maintenance, no indoor pool available. The Spa lacks cleanliness and atmosphere. Smaller issues on cleanliness could be sorted effectively. The balcony was a bit dark and the view and outdoor furniture thereon did not invite to sit outside.

Excellent customer service!! Every single member of staff greeted us with a friendly smile and went above and beyond our expectations. When we returned to the Four Seasons at the end of our trip, the hotel welcomed us back with a tray of beautiful, delicious cupcakes ("Welcome Back!" written in sprinkles) in our room. NB The power went out nearly every night due to load shedding, but the generator kicked in within seconds each time.

Everything was wonderful!

10/10 everything. We celebrated our honeymoon here and they couldn’t have treated us any better - got an upgrade to a beautiful room (highly recommend staying in 404-405!) with a stunning view! The honeymoon special turn down service, a completely surprise, was great with rose petals throughout the apartment. The restaurant for a sun down drink was amazing and the food in the evening too, especially the service in the restaurant. Don’t hesitate to treat yourself to a stay here!

The spa had a cold jacuzzi and the spa prices were extortionate compared to the rest of SA (but the therapist was great!)

The staff went above and beyond to make this birthday staycation so memorable for my son. From check in to surprises like treats in the room and specific kids products and amenities, a wonderful breakfast surprise, happy birthday songs from staff, gifts...it was unique and he (and we the parents) loved it too. The room itself was exactly what I had hoped for, spacious, modern yet charming and awesome views.

There was nothing we didn't enjoy.

The staff are excellent - from the receptionists (including KB) to the wait staff (Sphesihle and Tumi) and the magnificent pastry chef (Laura). Every staff member seems to love their work and really understand what quality service means. The room was an absolute treat - and the bathroom is pure luxury. The bed is perfectly comfortable too. The dining experience is fantastic. Did I mention the gorgeous views of Joburg city and all the trees??

I didn't like leaving...

You get fantastic views with the city view room. The bed is so comfy with tons of pillows to keep you snug. The breakfast has an endless choice of pretty much anything from cereal to oysters to hot breakfast. The staff are so friendly and always answer any questions without fault. They all make great conversation. The valet service was something new to us and kinda weird feeling but that was something to experience.

The restaurant was a bit of a disappointment with incredibly slow service. 4 hours for a 4 course meal with parts of the dinner completely missed. The small details in the room are unfortunately forgotten, like the toilet that doesn't flush properly or the paint chips and cracks in the bathroom ceiling or the bathroom door that doesn't close properly or stay closed after some fiddling.
