The Beach Hotel

Ginger Restaurant absolutely fantastic. TV channel choices good. Very nice effective in-room airconditioning. Great location.

All DSTV decoders need to be rebooted. Staff were requested but not done. TVs in all rooms should also be checked that all channels work. Cleaning staff very loud and noisy in the morning. Unequal and insuffient coffee and milk for 2 in room.

My favorite stay in Port Elizabeth. Always welcoming, always comfortable and well positioned on the beachfront. Great food…

I sensed that something has changed, some staff were unhelpful in fact possibly prescriptive, disorganized really and without discipline. This is my experience and it was an unpleasant surprise. It’s not the norm for me to criticize publicly, I’d rather speak directly with management but I haven’t been given the opportunity. Would I stay again ? Yes, for sure, hopefully they have ironed out whatever their staffing and management issue was then.

The hotel is located right next to the boardwalk mall. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable and we felt at home and well taken care of. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, they are an asset to this establishment. The breakfast was lovely too and room service food was delivered quickly and was delicious.

The only thing that I can complain about was the hotel reception and corridors had an old stuffy smell, however the room we were in smelt really good and fresh.

This was our second stay at The Beach Hotel. It has an excellent location, and we had a sea facing, spacious room. Good to see that the bathrooms have been renovated. Staff are friendly and helpful. The public areas are really nice, especially the verandah where we enjoyed relaxing with a drink or meal. It’s a colonial-style hotel, with a comfortable, cozy feel about it.

The room furniture is looking very tired, as are the carpets throughout the hotel. Badly in need of an update.

The hotel on the whole the hotel was very comfortable and the staff were absolutely friendly. My room was ready once I checked in.

The breakfast was not up to standard as they did not cater for various religions. We don't eat pork and beef but there was only pork and beef on both the days I stayed there. No lamb dishes were available. Very limited items for breakfast that we just had baked beans and eggs. Breakfast items were coming in whilst we were seated as it was not ready when we got there. That was very disappointing 😞

The breakfast was magnificent. Everything was delicious and there was a very wide variety of option. All of the staff always greeted me with a smile and was eager to assist in helping. The room was very clean and comfortable. The Hotel had a stunning view of the ocean and is right next to the Boardwalk Mall.

The only aspect that did not work properly was the channels on the TV. Some of it didn't work or the signal was bad. The room can also do with a electronic alarm clock with a bluetooth speaker.

The hotel was phenomenal and Loved how the hotel was situated in an area where we could access everything I needed. From the receptionist to the dining staff, chef, waiters, housing-keeping staff, etc made the week spent there feel like home. I appreciate every moment I spent there ❤️❤️

We had a great start at The Beach Hotel in Port Elizabeth. I hadn't been there for years due to living overseas and it was great to see it still going strong and looking good. I booked a double sea view room for myself and a twin room with a sea view for my elderly parents. Both rooms were clean, spacious and very comfortable and it was wonderful waking up the stunning early morning sunrise view over the sea! The beach front on the Saturday morning was alive with people walking, swimming and doing aerobics and I had a great beach front walk. I booked a table for 9 people for dinner at The Ginger restaurant on the Friday night and the food and service were great. The buffet breakfast in the morning was also good. The staff were friendly and helpful and we parked our car in the secure parking at the back of the hotel.

There wasn't a lift so my elderly Father struggled a bit with the stairs but it was only one floor and worth it for the room and views. Next time I might request a ground floor room for my parents.

Location –great location for work Room -more than adequately equipped. Clean. Comfortable. (Water could have been a higher temeperature) Ambiance -Lovely atmosphere in the lobby lounge + restaurant Lounge -Comfortable seating areas. Lots of places to sit. Great bar service. Patio Restaurant -Great menu. Delicious food. Good service.

I wouldn't change a thing.

The location of the hotel is just perfect with the beach across the road! Nice sitting area in front where you can have coffee /drinks or something light to eat while watching the waves. Rooms are very clean with aircon and white bedding.

We had Sunday lunch at the hotel, but it was really not up to standard!! Very disappointing!!! Almost no cold meat and salad or fish and they ran out of soup and replaced it after 30 min with soup that was not nice. The fruit salad was exactly the same they served at breakfast. Variety very small and not worth the money. Will definitely not recommend!
