We had a double room on the ground floor, it also had a small patio, the room was large with a relaxing area with a sofa and TV, Nespresso machine, a king size bed with sliding glass doors that led into the large bathroom , fitted with a double bath with a shower/taps into the bath, it also had a power shower with multi head body sprays and rainfall overhead shower. The decor was tastefully done and each room is different. Our location was on the ground floor with views of the mountains and pool. The staff behind the reception are very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, the bar/restaurant staff were the same , happy smiley people.

If I was going to have a gripe, it would be I wished it had a bar/chillout area away from the restaurant with sofas and music playing . There isn't anywhere else to go in El Chorro so you have a captured market. But that is a personal view.

Beautiful hotel, lots of greenery and outdoor spots to sit and relax. Breathtaking views of the spectacular surroundings from pretty much anywhere you are in the hotel. Our upstairs room was clean, big and comfortable with lovely views in the back and a nice patio-like area with a table and a couple of chairs in the front. Loved the jolly, rustic decor. The staff was always kind and helpful, and our tour guide to El Caminito del Rey was nice and friendly. We would totally go back to La Garganta, ideally for a longer stay. The entire hotel and its surroundings are beyond spectacular!

The only downside was the foul odor escaping from the toilet, although the entire bathroom and room were super clean. Keeping the toilet seat down helped. Hopefully they have already fixed this.

The hotel is perfectly located near the train station. The duplex room was spacious both the sitting room downstairs and the bedroom upstairs. Heating worked a treat. The spiral staircase did not allow me to carry the suitcase upstairs so I left my luggage downstairs and just carried toiletries and night suit upstairs. The reception staff were very helpful and I left my luggage at checkout to collect later. There was a small fridge and tea making facilities in the room. I used the tap water and it was fine.

The only minor issues are the spiral staircase which is not easy to carry luggage upstairs. The reception is not 24 hours and opens only at 8 am.

The location was perfect for the Caminito del Rey walk, just minutes away, with the train to Malaga 100metres down the road. Location of the hote; for views over the mountains and lakes ideal from nearly all points around the hotel. Numerous balcony/terraces seating places to have evening meal with lights and music. The facilities including an excellent pool with jaccuzi. The hotel had a very distictive decor which also showed in the rooms.

We had a room on two levels lounge dowstairs and bathroom and bedroom upstairs accessed by circular spiral staircase., a little awkward but we managed, If you are of a very senior age or unsteady these stairs could be a problem. (some other rooms have standard stairs) A little dissapointed in the food selection, but what was delivered was of a good quality and well presented with attentative staff.

Located right next to the El Chorro train station and next to the bus stop that takes people up to the start of Caminito del Rey. And you finish the hike basically at the hotel too. Couldn't be better located for those taking the train to the hike. I was surprised to see that my room had two stories; a seating anea downstairs and the bed and bathroom upstairs, with a narrow spiral staiway connecting the two. Both areas were smallish but overall it gave me more area than in other more expensive rooms. It was decorated with climbing gear and ropes; I liked that it added character.

The room's bathroom had a toilet and bidet. I was surprised that I had to ask for toilet paper. Not sure if that is normal at the hotel.

Nice hotel, ideally situated for the Caminto Del Rey walk. The shuttle bus is opposite the hotel and the walks end in El Chorro, so no need for the shuttle back. Nothing much else within walking distance of the hotel, but we expected that. The hotel was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful for the most part. The room was on two levels with the bedroom being up a spiral staircase, this didn't cause any problems for us but with anyone with mobility issues or children I can imagine this would be very dangerous. We didn't use the on-site restaurant so can't comment on that.

The hotel was very noisy! We stayed two nights and had really poor sleep both nights as the hotel was so loud. The bed was also very uncomfortable, the pillows in particular were rock hard!

Amazing location and views. There's truly no other option located as well as this hotel in El Chorro if you want to take Caminito del Rey. The bus stops just in front of the hotel and gets you to the beginning. And how nice it is to come back and jump into the pool with the view to the dam. In addition you get super stylish rooms and quality food. Overpriced? No. It's not cheap, but totally worth it. Save at some other places during your trip. But if you're coming here, stay at this hotel. It's an experience!

Just a bit more clarity with breakfast boxes if you're leaving early. I was taking the first 07:40 bus to Caminito del Rey. And it took me the whole dinner and talk with maybe 4 people to understand if and what can I get for breakfast, because the restaurant was not going to open that early. Finally I got some really nice food, but staff could just prepare for such cases. Am I the only one leaving early?

Great location for the Caminito del Rey and other walking routes . Beside the train station so great access to Malaga . Staff were very friendly and helpful. You can book your caminito tickets and bus tickets direct from the hotel. The room was very clean , very comfortable bed . Good tea/ coffee making facilities and a good size fridge . Outside the pool and surrounding area we're very clean . A great area to relax after walking. The food in the restaurant was delicious as was the selection of local wines and very reasonably priced . The waiting staff were all really friendly.

A personal thing but am not a fan of a separate toilet / wash basin and shower. Can understand for space why they have done it . Would not stop me returning.

I wasn't sure what to expect at this remote location, but the hotel was a pleasant surprise; it far exceeded my expectations. We asked for a Superior Twin Room and that's exactly what we got. First of all, the room was huge with two comfy double size beds, plenty of countertop space to set things on, and a bathroom the size of Texas complete with an oversize tub. Also, there is a swimming pool and a restaurant at one end of the property with impressive views over the canyon and reservoir, and free onsite parking. This property is filled with people beginning and ending the wildly popular Caminito Del Rey hike. Book the hotel AND the hike well in advance. Although we went directly online, the hotel can assist you in getting tickets for the hike.

I didn't like that fact that we stayed only one night. If I had known how comfortable and scenic it was, I would have booked a second night.

This was our second night in the hotel, we had to move to a smaller room as we did not manage to book one room for both nights. We could check in as soon as we checked out - so we just basically moved our staff from one room to another. The bathroom was bigger and better that the shower in the previous rooom. Room 104 located two steps away from the pool - super cute after the hiking. The next morning we had only 20 minutes before our train - and they managed to preapare a good breakfast for us! very nice personnel always ready to help!

Our room was a bit too close to the passage, so we could hear people passing by with their bags and talking in the late evening and early morning.
