The view from the room was mindblowing! The room was very cozy and the host Juan was very friendly and gave us really good suggestions for restaurant and trek. There was a refrigerator at the property where we could store groceries which was very convenient as we could shop from a nearby supermarket and store perishable things in it.

Not something that we had a problem with as we were travelling light with just a backpack but if you are travelling by public transport be ready to walk a lot. Its a 15 minutes walk from the Begur centre and 25 mins walk back on top. Not a problem when you have your own vehicle.

Our recent stay at Hostal Sa Barraca, close to the picturesque town of Begur, Spain,(15 min drive) was nothing short of a heartwarming experience. This charming family-run hotel offers more than just a place to rest your head – it immerses you in the warmth and hospitality of a true Spanish family, making you feel like an honored guest. From the moment I arrived, the staff's friendliness and helpfulness were evident. They greeted me with genuine smiles and went out of their way to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. It truly felt like being welcomed into a loving family home. The hotel's location provided breathtaking views that painted the perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway. With convenient free parking available, I was able to easily explore the surrounding area, including the stunning beaches that were just a short 10-15 minute drive away. While bus services were an option, I heeded the advice to travel by car, which gave me the flexibility to discover the hidden gems of the region at my own pace. The hotel manager, a knowledgeable native of the area, was a treasure trove of information about Begur and its surroundings. Their insightful tips and recommendations allowed me to make the most of my time exploring the region's beauty and culture. The rooms were meticulously clean, and it was a delightful surprise to find that every room featured its own terrace, adding a touch of private outdoor space to each stay. For those who like to keep a bit of flexibility in their dining options, the shared fridge for guests and the practical kitchen facilities were a thoughtful touch. Although I didn't try the breakfast myself, I heard raving reviews from fellow guests who had nothing but good things to say about it.

Of course, no stay is without a few minor hiccups. The internet coverage wasn't the most reliable or speedy, which might be a consideration for those needing to stay connected for work. Additionally, the proximity of the rooms to one another meant that, depending on. Also, consider the property has no pool.

Pilar and Juan were so lovely and kind. Always big beaming smiles, offering help and assistance. The views were outstanding and it was tranquil and quiet. You can get around by car but I loved being able to walk 20min up hill to Begur, or 20min downhill to the beautiful beaches. I was on a working holiday and was able to work on the wifi in the morning, and go hiking or swimming in the afternoon. One of my favourite stays in a long time and I hope to return one day.

Loved the private deck and views. Liked having access to fridge, kettle, microwave, plates and cutlery. Very friendly and attentive owners. Appreciated the beach chairs, umbrella and towels. Best to have a car for this location - there was enough parking for everyone on site.

The owners are very kind and friendly, greeting us every day and making sure our stay was comfortable. The rooms each have a balcony (nice to eat dinner or sit out there). The location is close to downtown and not too far from beaches (having a car is necessary). Overall a nice, quiet, lovely place to stay. The breakfast they offer is very nice and I think worth it to pay for at least once (can also get coffee only, for a couple euro).

There is no fan or AC in the room and letting the door open to help air things out led to mosquitoes, and the walls are thin so if your neighbors are not quiet that can be a problem. Pillows are a bit hard but that is personal preference. Also this is more our fault for not confirming but previous reviews mentioned they were able to use the kitchen to do some occasional cooking but this is no longer the case (potentially because of covid). You can use the fridge, borrow plate and cutlery, and request to microwave but no kitchen use.

The location was amazing , rooms have little private patios overlooking the sea . Nice owners - Juan and Pillar who were present and full of information . We stayed extra night as the area is too beautiful for just one night and added breakfast as the large sunny terrace was too pretty to miss. Highly recommend for few days stay - fyi - car is needed for beach and town access .

The room was average size, very clean and comfortable, french windows leading to a good size private balcony with table and chairs overlooking spectacular views down to the sea over tree tops... a kitchen for your use if wanting to eat your own food in private on your balcony...incredibly helpful and very nice owners. We recommend !

The location of the hostal was perfect. View from the room terrace and the main lobby was amazing! The room was cleaned everyday and was extremely clean. The hostal owners are very friendly and gave us good recommendations on places to visit and eat. Highly recommend everyone to stay here!

We couldn't really open the terrace door at night due to mosquitoes and flies, so the room does get stuffy at night even in Spring time . Would be good if there was a mosquito net covering the terrace door. But otherwise, this place is perfect!

View from the room was exceptional with the whole bay seen from the private balcony. Breakfast is taken from another balcony with an equally good view..

The Parador right on the coast is an eyesore. Looks like an airport terminal building but there is nothing that Juan can do about that.

Everything was perfect, from the very warm welcome by the hosts/owners, to the clean, large and comfortable bedroom, the amazing view and a simple but very good breakfast every morning. The location is also very good although it helps to have a car / bike to get into town, go to the beach etc. The owners are charming and exceptionally helpful, and a mine of local information.
