Fantastic location when visiting the Covadonga sanctuary as everything is nearby. Very nice large rooms and a beautiful large bathroom. The hotel itself is beautiful with private parking. Good breakfast buffet.

The restaurant looks nice but was dissapointing both from a service and food point of view. We were a couple and ordered similar food but were served randomly. For example one main was served so much earlier that it was finished and the plate had been taken away by the time the second arrived. We were only able to eat the dessert together. One of us had fish and the other lamb for main and both were poorly cooked and tasteless. Accompanying vegetables were also tasteless. In summary, the hotel accommodation is great but we would never return to the restaurant.

The location was great, beds were comfortable. Beautiful hotel and interior. The room we were in looked pretty new, with nice furniture. We were happy it included a refrigerator. Buses to the parks are walking distance and location couldn't be better to explore the church. Friendly hosts. There is a cafeteria on the 1st floor if you want simple sandwiches and drinks.

Parking was difficult, they do not have enough spaces for everyone and most people (despite reserving) needed to park quite far away and walk uphill because the lot was full. This could have easily been solved with a gate and a keycode. Wifi was weak at best. We were disappointed with the full-board restaurant fare, there were few options and often they were the same as the day prior.

The hotel is perfectly located next to the basilica and the shrine (if thats your thing). its only a short drive, either by car or by bus to Cangas de Onis which is a lively town with plenty of good rerstaurants. The hotel is old but is totally in character with the area - anything more modern would stand out (check out the new builds behind the hotel!) The restaurant food was good albeit limited and the staff suffered from a lack of numbers but on the main were good and friendly. Main down side was - the basilica bells! LOL! Especially the 5:45pm ones!!!

Parking is limited

Excellent setting and perfect for a visit to the chapel in the rocks and the church / museum. Easy trip up to the lakes from here too. There is a cafe on the first floor serving drinks and snacks and this is a good choice for a light breakfast and cheaper than booking it with the hotel room. Beds were more comfortable than the last time we stayed - two singles interlinked and extra pillows provided. Bathroom is well equipped and everything was very clean. restaurant food is excellent - the large prawns at a dozen for 20 euros is an indulgence not to be missed! Steak excellent too. Reasonable price for drinks, bar is open between meal service times. Restaurant is late opening as usual but worth the wait! Car park is not large but there is another just up the hill so you shouldn't have too much of a problem even when busier. Don't miss the road to the lakes - it's spectacular!

Cafe can be noisy at times when you are sat in there, but people come and go quite quickly after services at the church /chapel and it calms down again. Fresh orange juice and pastries are lovely for breakfast here.

We had inadvertently booked an attic room -- which I would not recommend -- but thanks to Cristina at the reception desk we were offered a far better room for a very modest supplement, despite arriving at the busiest time of year, just before Asturias Day (September 8). The hotel is atmospheric and redolent of a different era. Close to the shrine of La Santina for those of a religious persuasion, and perfectly placed for a trip to the Lakes for those who prefer a walk in the mountains.

Parking can be tricky.

Fantastic location, couldn't be in a more beautiful settings. Lovely area to walk around and check out the cathedral and the Lady's sanctuary. Hotel is very smart and spacious rooms and bathrooms.

It was very quiet in the night and the bar in the hotel did not open till the external one closed and then there was no food options only drinks.

The location of the hotel is stunning next to the Covadonga Basilica and sanctuary. Beautiful room and lovely hotel. Staff very friendly.

Parking is chaotic and should be better managed and explained during booking process. I witnessed several arguments with hotel staff about parking. There is limited parking at the hotel but further up the road there is more parking available. When you arrive at the hotel and can't get parked or unload your cases it is extremely frustrating to then be told there is further parking by the Bascillica, although this is not helpful for unloading luggage.

Great location in the mountains right at the entrance to the Covadonga lakes area where you can pick up the bus ( and buy tickets) or drive into the park - although you have to enter before 7.30am and the road is long, narrow and very twisty so the bus is more relaxing. Also next to the Basilica. Enormous room, bed and bathroom. Quiet.

Not that many parking spaces at the hotel. We were lucky to get a space in the car park. Rooms are a bit outdated but the size, view and comfort makes up for it. Good price in late May.

The location is pretty amazing, just opposite the basilica and as close as you can be to catch the bus up to the lakes in the morning. The room was huge. Staff were very friendly, especially the girl on reception who encouraged my attempts to practice Spanish even though she spoke perfect English. The menú del día was really good value, I was the only one of us drinking wine, but I was given a whole bottle rather than just a glass (although a glass would have been sufficient).

Breakfast was perfectly fine but quite expensive, the second morning we realised there is a cafe type place on the first floor which is a lot cheaper if you just want a croissant and a coffee. This could be better signposted.

Gorgeous hotel, lovely staff and all around superb experience. We had a big room with a view of the cathedral, mountains and cave. It doesn’t get better then that. Thank you for your hospitality.
