Everything. The place was super clean, very well equipped, very comfortable, nice heated swimming pool, sun terrace, fully stocked honesty bar. The host really cared about everything from restaurant suggestions and bookings to walking itineraries and other sightseeing tips. Free coffee and thee. great personally prepared breakfast. Great choice of local restaurants. Staff were super friendly and nothing was a problem.

Adults only. Small , only room for max of 10 at any one time. Great hosts, very friendly and hospitable. They made sure to meet us on arrival despite the late hour and still made sure to give us a tour and a welcome drink. Large room with balcony/ amazing views and with en-suite bathroom with a fabulous shower. Great WiFi, never let us down, so good for catching up with important e mails or streaming a programme Fabulous breakfast made fresh every day by the great E and E!!! Superb pool and large sun terrace. Amazing massage chair! Peace and quiet.

Nothing although the road down to the Hotel is very steep. Once driven it becomes easier 👍😁. If you’re staying in the mountains it’s to be expected!!!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Malaga Hills Double Comfort Boutique & Wellness Hotel, and I must say it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I stepped into the hotel, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere. Ruud (one of the owners) greeted us, showed around and shared a glass of after midnight drink at the cozy bar, even we arrived very late in the night. This newly refurbished gem is a true haven for travelers seeking comfort, cleanliness, and a peaceful retreat. The first thing that caught my attention was the cozy ambiance. The hotel's recent refurbishment has given it a modern yet charming touch, creating an inviting space that immediately made me feel at home. The attention to detail is evident in every corner, with tasteful decor and comfortable furnishings that enhance the overall experience. Speaking of cleanliness, Malaga Hills Double Comfort shines brightly. The rooms and common areas are impeccably maintained, exuding a fresh and hygienic aura. It was evident that the staff takes great pride in keeping the hotel spotless, making my stay even more enjoyable and worry-free. The hotel staff truly goes above and beyond to cater to guests' needs and ensure a memorable stay. Their genuine warmth and willingness to assist made me feel valued and appreciated as a guest. They were attentive to even the smallest details, promptly addressing any requests I had throughout my stay. One of the highlights of my experience was the sumptuous breakfast offered at Malaga Hills Double Comfort. The variety and quality of the breakfast spread were exceptional, providing a delightful start to each day. From freshly baked pastries to a range of savory options, there was something to suit every palate. The attention given to dietary restrictions and preferences was impressive.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Malaga Hills Hotel for a week and had a truly wonderful experience. The hotel is located in a beautiful, peaceful location and the views from both the bedrooms and pool terrace were sublime. We stayed in room number 3 which was spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The bed was large and comfy and there were even various pillow types on offer to cater for personal preferences. The decor throughout the hotel was artsy and elevated, and the boutique feel of the place engendered a more unique and interesting experience than other larger hotels might. We also really appreciated that guests could control the music playlist by the pool, though the high frequency/zen music that was generally playing throughout the day created a wonderfully relaxing, spa like experience and we were quite happy to leave it on. The gym, sauna and pool facilities were great and Vreneli also kindly invited us to join her for yoga in the town square on one of the mornings, as well as advising us on wonderful nearby hiking locations. Ruud and Vreneli were exemplary hosts who were incredibly helpful in offering us tips for dining and local attractions, we became very fond of them both and on leaving the hotel it felt like we were saying goodbye to our own family! We would not hesitate to recommend Malaga Hills Hotel for a unique, scenic and relaxing stay.

The hotel is located in a mountainous area right next to the charming white village of Competa. Blissful peace and picturesque views can be enjoyed from the hoyel terrace. In the hotel you can use the indoor swimming pool, spa and fitness center. By the pool there is a self-service bar on the "dash" for fair settlements at the end of your stay. We tried local white wine from the Moscatel variety. The hosts are happy to assist with reservations at local restaurants.

We regret that we only stayed 2 nights at the hotel. We left the place on the day when, after a 2-year pandemic break, there was a celebration of local wine.

We went there for 11 days over our honeymoon, and we had a great stay at the Malaga hills! :) The owners Vreneli and Ruud, and the team are very friendly. They have often asked about our satisfaction, and we felt very comfortable. They gave us tips about the restaurants and trips you can do. The Breakfast was delicious, and everyone made a lot of effort to make it varied. :) The room was very clean and modern, and there was plenty of space. You can do a little bit of sport or swim in the heated pool. You can speak to Vreneli or Ruud when you want it a little bit warmer :) Cómpeta, the town next door, can be reached in about 25 minutes. You have to overcome a small hill, and then it's easy to walk. It is very nice there, and there is a wide range of restaurants, and you can have there a wonderful time. It is an excellent place to calm down and relax. Thank you for a nice honeymoon!

Malaga Hills is truly a special gem in Andalusia! We stayed there 5 nights and it was a perfect time. Our room was spacious with a delightful balcony and spectacular view (see my panorama shot). It's a very quiet and peaceful place yet within easy walking distance of an abundance of evening restaurants. Ruud and Vreneli are wonderful and sensitive hosts; nothing was too much trouble. We really felt at home with the "honesty bar" and ability to watch British football on the TV in the evenings (joined on one occasion by Ruud and Vreneli chatting to us until late!). The morning breakfast is amazing and varied and service is friendly. Competa offers a great base for hikes in the countryside and a charming place (see sunset photo). We have stayed at various locations in Andalusia over the past 5 years and this one scores the highest.

It's honestly hard to find fault. Some reviewers have expressed concern about the steep road down to the property but as far as driving is concerned we never once in a week encountered an oncoming vehicle. Likewise walking into town does involve a little workout to get up the hill but we found this perfectly acceptable given the privacy and quiet location of Malaga Hills.

I had a truly wonderful three days with Vreneli and Ruud at the Malaga HIlls! I was in the region for some winter hiking and Competa is located near some excellent trails. Malaga Hills was teh perfect choice. The rooms are divine, with lovely views and with very comfy beds. I slept incredibly well. The breakfast was amazing, and Estella and Estrella who made breakfast were lovely. I loved the extra touches - like the honesty bar, and even better frozen pizza and magnums for the evening I didn't want to go into town and eat out - instead I lay on the couch in the library and relaxed with a wine (and had a pizza). (There were lots of good local restaurant options too don't worry). There was excellent free nespresso coffee and fruit. The terrace was a lovely sun trap. But most impressive were the wonderful hosts - both super interesting people who were genuinely interested in their guests and happy to have a glass of wine and a chat. I am definitely coming back.

I didn't like that I had to leave!!!! I was very sad to drive away.

This is a lovely boutique B&B. Owners are very friendly and helpful, including booking restaurants. Our room (3) was spacious, tastefully decorated with a very comfortable large bed, coffee machine and private terrace. Unfortunately we were not blessed with good weather so couldn’t sit out on the lovely big terrace which has fabulous views (on a clear day!) but we made use of the cosy library to relax with Netflix and a bottle of local wine from the honesty bar. It is about 25 min pleasant walk to centre of Competa and although the first part of the walk is steep we enjoyed the exercise and if you don’t want to walk it is a short drive or taxi into town where there is a good choice of restaurants. Despite the disappointing weather we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this B&B to anyone visiting the area.

The hospitality of the owners, the superb view on the terrace, comfortable room with heating (which was a good thing in March), the relaxing and beautiful music during breakfast and on the terrace. Very good wifi.

Some more variation in the breakfast would be fine when guests stay a whole week for instance cereal buns instead of a toast and croissant, more variation in the fruit bowl like tangerines instead of an apple or banana.
