Hotel Resort Cueva del Fraile

Hotel was beyond our expectations for sure. It's surrounded by greenery from all sides, the building is square with inner shaded yard where you could dine or just have a glass of wine. Interior is extremely beautiful with lots of unique pieces of old restored furniture. Breakfast is delicious with good coffee, traditional tortilla, cold cuts and croassants. I would recommend to have a breakfast in the hotel as well as to dine. They cook wonderful traditional meet and you could enjoy it in beautiful restaurant. Our three teenagers were happy to play billiards and air hockey in the play room. And it's free of charge. Very tranquil atmosphere, lots of hidden places to chill out or just to read. Rooms are spacious, clean and good lighted, bed is comfortable. It's only 13 min driving to the nearest public parking of Cuenca. The road from hotel to the city is very picturesque. We will be back for sure!

We liked everything. The only thing we sorry is that swimming pool wasn't working. It will be opened in the middle of July.

VERY cool building - former college dormitory - lots of character. Excellent staff and location to walk within old town Cuenca. Very scenic spot. Would definitely stay there again. Quiet and safe area.

The restaurant has extremely high ratings, normally I would venture out but decided to have dinner there based on reviews. The food was just ok. The fish dish had a sweet strawberry sauce on top that seemed out of place for dinner. The local dessert was delicious!

Good sized comfortable room. WiFi good. Easy parking on site. Location excellent in tranquil surroundings and yet very close to Cuenca, which has a beautiful Old Town. Good base for walking or cycling.

Dinner in the restaurant was very disappointing. We also found it irritating that we paid Euros 74 per night for a room being sold at Euros 55 per night during our stay.

The location was very good, just a few miles from Cuenca and amongst the spectacular countryside. Easy parking. Superb breakfast. Very pleasant site, keeping the style of of the original monastery, with many different areas to sit and enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine.

It would have been nice if the cafeteria had sold some snacks.

Beautiful located Hotel just outside of Cuenca, children friendly and in a natural environment. The patio was really nice but unfortunately the pool was not open.

In the outdoor children playground the slide was broken and to the cleanliness in the room and communal areas should be paid more attention.

The size of the rooms, the location. The friendly staff Isabel and Pilmar were friendly, helpful and professional. Thanks to their professional service we decided to stay an extra night. We had our room upgraded when a room became available as they couldn't met our request via Booking.com. The dining room was great, the guys waiting on us very friendly and helpful. The set menu was a little limited for vegetarian options though there was enough to feel satisfied after the meal. The lovely buffet style breakfast. The location though away from the town is beautiful and tranquil.

Lovely hotel. Short drive to centre of Cuenca. We ate in the restaurant at the hotel and the food was really delicious, freshly cooked and the menu had a lot of variety

Two steps down from the bedroom area to the main area and bathroom need some lighting or somethng. If I were designing the room I'd put the sofas up the steps and the bed by the bathroom

Loved this hotel We had a dog with us, the dog was so well looked after she could eat breakfast with us and even sit by the pool. Great location only ten minutes into Cuenca Which is incredible The facilities and even the restaurant was great Breakfast was brilliant too We loved it you are doing a great job Will return again for sure

Beautiful location and nice hotel set in an old Monastery.

Not nice smell coming from the toilet sometimes. Also there was a wedding one of the nights we stayed there, and the music was quite loud until late. Not complaining about the wedding itself, they were just having fun. But I would have liked a note from the hotel let us know in advance.

Location is great, the hotel is a good value, the bed is comfortable. The storage room was a plus. The lighting is good, and the bathroom is big. The staff was polite, and efficient.

Shower: plastic bottles in 2021? Come on. Please use containers to avoid plastic trash. Also, no place to put toiletries in shower or even in bathroom. No hooks anywhere. Power outlets: again, it’s 2021. Two power outlets in one room is not ok.
