we loved the location. avid windsurfers and other water sports fans must love the direct access to the spot & since being at the end of the promenade, the location becomes a nice quiet refuge in the evening. also, Hito restaurant in the hotel & the evening bar have some of the best vibes in the area.

we stayed in a room situated on the top floor, without A/C and it was too hot for most of our stay. When it's windy, it probably gets some fresh air and natural cooling, but it was not windy during our stay and it was overheating from the sun.

Top location if you go kiting, wing-, wind- or just surfing. Nice running and hiking paths around. Beautiful beach with sun beds in the bay around the corner. Restaurants just outside of the hotel. Stuff very friendly.

Rooms get warm as no airco, but you probably won’t stay inside too much. Breakfast ok, but every day glasses, cups and plates missing. I guess the manager could jump in the car and buy some spare dishes, which would make the guests and the stuff happier. Parking is a nightmare-hotel parking is often not available and next spot not easy to find.

Friendly staff ,Location ! , very clean, free parking in the street, great breakfast. Room was new or recently done. Good beds , balcony views beautiful to the beach. El Medano has a nice windsurfers vibe. Good place to stay for beach-time and watersports and to take rental car to discover the island ( swim in natural pools google piscinas naturales , book stargazing excursion, walk hiking trails using Komoot App , Parc de Anaga, city: La Leguna. Skip Las Americas. We stayed 7 nights. Flashpoint cafe 1 minute walk great place!

My sons wetsuit was stolen. It was drying on the rack next to the shower at the pool. Another person left her ( empty bag) at the pool and it also disappeared. Unfortunately people not belonging to the hotel have easy access Can’t blame the hotel - apparently everywhere things are stolen :( Also did not like the fact that you have to pay €2,50 a day for the safe. No space to put your things next to the sink. This said- I would still come back to stay at the hotel- just want to warn you to take care of your things. Also good to know:at Xmas time the pool is not heated. Water in the ocean was warmer. We swam in the ocean and piscines naturales.

If you’re looking for an accommodation in Tenerife this hotel offers everything you need. It’s located one of the best beaches in the island, only few minutes drive away from the south airport, in between small fish villages and offers free parking (therefore it takes away the stress of finding a spot). The breakfast has enough variety to satisfy different tastes. There is also a nice small restaurant where it’s the perfect spot to enjoy the sunset accompanied with some nice tunes and a few cocktails.

The breakfast buffet could stay longer hours available (it’s between 8 and 10 am). Also the pool could be cleaned up from leafs and other debris.

Just the most perfect hotel! We didn't want to leave. We had a beautiful room on the ground floor facing onto the lovely garden (immaculately kept). Comfortable, clean, with modern stylish furniture, and only steps from the lounge which opens onto the terrace, pool and breakfast restaurant. We looked forward to the breakfasts each day which had absolutely everything you wanted, and the most delicious croissants I've had in a long time. And the location is unbelievable.. on one side you look out onto the wild natural reserve and kitesurfing beach, and on the other it's the main beach, board walk and all the water sports shops and cafes, and you're in the town square in a few minutes. We couldn't fault the hotel even one tiny thing. The perfect place to stay to enjoy El Medano, watersports, or just sit on the loungers for a week and read. We moved to a 5-star hotel in a different part of the island after staying here, and we really regretted it! That's how good Play Sur(f) is!

The only bad thing about this hotel is having to leave :(

I like about the property that everyone was really friendly especially one man by reception, he helped with upgrading our room after situation with cockroaches. Food was really yummy, drinks also. We really enjoyed spending time by the swimming pool, we did not use it because water was way too cold.

I did not like about the property that in the first days we had cockroaches in our room…. And also room was super renovated but was not super clean when we arrived that was a little disappointed. Breakfast was just simple, every day the same and just boring, not so many options to pick it up.

Pretty good location for trips around the island - assuming you're renting a car. The car parking was not super spacious, but never had trouble finding a parking space. Also, if you're a surfing enthusiast this is apparently one if the best places on the island.

The breakfast was ok-ish, but a bit more diversity would've been nice. Although the building is pretty old - built in 1980 it appears, it is generally in good condition. Changing the balcony doors on the top will help a lot though, as they vibrate strongly during strong winds (not at all uncommon in those parts).

All staff was very nice and helpful. The sun lounge/garden was very nice with comfy sunbeds and always enough space for everyone. Breakfast was fine but after two weeks it got a little tiresome.

The pool was far too cold and was almost never used by anyone. The women´s wc in the garden was ridiculously small, there was no way to close the inner door! We missed whole grain bread and some more diversity at breakfast, it was fine for a few days but after two weeks we were getting tired of the same things. Finally the music by the pool was played far too loud all the time.

All of the staff were wonderful - kind, funny, polite, helpful. Was greeted by Sofia on check in, felt very welcomed. Able to leave bags securely ahead of my room being ready. Right on the beach, but the nice end not the hectic end :) A good handful of shops, restaurants and bars within a ten minute walk down the beach/boardwalk. At the hotel end, a perfect view of the Red Mountain. Endless water-sports options on your doorstep too. Great walking options straight out of the door. Room was a good size, small fridge, toiletries, fan, balcony with a view and a very good shower (pressure and temperature - both never an issue). Pool size was good, but I didn't venture in. Enough sunbeds and seating around the pool. Breakfast was solid - hot, cold, fruits, savoury and sweet options. Coffee machine available too, with water and juice also on tap. Common areas spacious, cool and clean. There were spaces to sit indoors too (away from the sunshine), and store items such as water-sports equipment or bikes. Less than 15 minute drive to the airport - bonus! Strong WiFi. Restaurant connected to the hotel was good and handy for lunch and dinner. Would stay again.

A bottle of water on arrival would have been nice. Deposit needed for TV remote, and pool towels chargeable for a small fee. There was some kind of water-sports meeting over two of the days, which meant less shaded seating around the pool and no calming pool music. Slamming doors - would recommend affixing gadgets to the top of each door so that they close meaningfully. Top of the budget, but nicer than hotels/accommodation nearby.

We did not expect much after reading some of the reviews, but I must say the hotel was very nice, modern and in excellent location with on-site parking. Our room was comfy with ocean and mountain view, quiet. Breakfast buffet was also OK. Pool seemed nice with chill vibes, but we didn't go there once.

We read some of the rooms have not yet been renovated - but not our case. Value for money is questionable, but we really couldn't complain about anything.
