Hotel Alcadima

The hotel is immaculately clean throughout, public parts all well maintained. Our room was quite spacious, functional rather than luxurious, with a sunny balcony overlooking the swimming pool. A small fridge was very handy for drinks and snacks. But the real strength of the Alcadima is in its outdoor areas - the gorgeous pool and the surrounding shady nooks, quiet seating areas and walkways, all very relaxing. The restaurant is casual but elegant, offering a varied and very acceptable menu. Only a few hundred yards off Lanjaron's main street with all its bars and restaurants, the Alcadima is a great choice for anyone who has a reason to be in the area, and a destination in itself for a short break.

Parking is in a dusty public car park, only accessible to the hotel via a steep slope. Wifi a little touch and go.

It is a lovely quiet place where you can have the best meals for lunch and diner. They offer seperate to a la carte a daily changed 3 courses menu for 22 euro a day which has great taste. On location you have these beautiful spots to sit. If next to the pool is crowded you still can go sit somewhere else to have you own time. The waitresses are always polite, smiling and take good care for you! They tidy up your room every day. Spacious rooms with a nice size refrigerator. The place is located at the left of the village Lanjaron, by foot it will take 10 minutes to get to the supermarket and less for other café, icecream or other dining options.

Only thing I would change over time is the bed matras. For me it was quite a 'hot' matras while the temperature wasn't that high when I was staying. And the furniture looks a bit outdated, but must admit that it fits the room and ambiance in the place so it would be a nice to have.

Relaxed atmosphere . Loved all the greenery. Dining room and bar very well designed. Lovely how there were multiple seating areas . The menu was varied and good. Very good value. Access to the courtyard and dining area from rear of our room (108) was appreciated with my mobility issues.

No full length Minnie in bedroom! Accessible shower was poor. Tiling left a lot to be desired. A low shower tray would be better. With proper sized screen.

So authentic with fabulous service! Very clean, spacious rooms.

I found the beds quite hard and the room was very warm- I won’t say “hot”. I was there towards the end of September and although there was a ceiling fan, it was so warm that I had to open the window and was quite bitten by mosquitoes! Ask what was fabulous and they certainly can’t control the temperature or the mosquitoes. And all of Europe featured hard beds. It was a charming place with fabulous pool!

My only minor niggle would be the pricing structure for meals. if you just want breakfast it’s 18 euros per person. you can do a deal for breakfast and dinner which I seem to recall was 36 euros. obviously by opting for this you don’t get the opportunity to sample the local restaurants/tapas bars. 18 euros is something like 4 times what you would pay in a local cafe less than 200 metres away. Other than that it’s a lovely hotel and despite this I would definitely go again and fully recommend. I should also add the restaurant is rated 2nd on Tripadvisor so very good.

A fabulous hotel. The grounds are stunning and views are breathtaking. A very well appointed and comfortable room. The restaurant is outstanding and the two girls running the front of the house were very efficient and charming.

The first impression was very poor. The receptionist had swallowed a misery pill that morning. Not the greatest of welcomes. Being August and pretty hot, a bottle of complimentary Lañaron water in the room would have been a nice touch

I liked the interesting design of the hotel. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The swimming pool was very clean and salinated and the sun beds were very clean. Lots of nice patios with flowering shrubs and plants and beautiful views of the Sierra Nevada mountains. The hotel is conveniently close to the Main Street yet it was nice and quiet during the night and ideal for a restful sleep.

There was no coffee available in the bedroom (only tea and decaf) and the plug in the wash hand basin was missing. Bath towels weren’t available at the swimming pool.

Very good self service breakfast buffet. All the food and wine we had was excellent. The steak and the salmon were very well prepared along with vegetables. Loved the fig ice cream dessert...so good we had to order it twice in 2 days! Very attentive staff throughout the hotel.

We had to change the card to get into our room on the 2nd day as it was only working intermittently. We've had this problem in other hotels so it's not a fault of the hotel.

The location, gardens, food were all excellent

I had booked a terrace room with views over the garden and countyside beyond but was allocated a garden room on the ground floor which was a little dark but, having arrived a little early and waiting 2 hours for a room to be ready did not feel inclined to request a change of room. Happily, this did not spoil our overall experience staying in this beautiful gem .
