The location was convenient for the venues I needed to access. The room was clean. The facilities were very good, especially that the room had a small refrigerator in addition to a water cooker.

The walls were very thin and so, neighbors that did not have respect for lateness of evening - phone calls on speaker phone, banging against a shared wall, speaking very loud - made for very little sleep. The Hostal should have had quiet hours beginning at 11:00 PM and informed people of that at check-in What also would have been helpful to know before booking is that the rooms are one very long flight up which means one has to carry one's luggage up and down these stairs.

Location, location, location! If you are looking for a simple place to sleep that is near one of the most central avenues of Madrid, this is your place. Friendly staff, you can come in and out as you please, lots of places around to have a meal. It’s our first look when we go to Madrid.

The rooms vary, the last one we stayed in had the power outlets in weird spots like on the all at the top of the bed which is not ideal for charging your phone since it will be resting on your pillow. Think some planning, making some rewiring would be good.

Nice hostal perfectly located at the heart of Madrid within a short walk from main attractions. The receptionist were very kind all the time through our stay and even helped us with directions and borrowed us a train card. The room is small but for us was not really a problem as it was expected by the add and the price so still good value.

Not a big issue but the air conditioning was not working one night when we came back to the room so we had to text the hostel and someone came to help us within few minutes and got it fixed shortly. The staff was very helpful all the way as mentioned before.

The room was really spacious, especially for a hostal. It had everything you needed, and the kettle and tea & coffee selection were a great touch. The bedding and towels were really clean!

If I had to split hairs, I'd say the toilet is in a really tight space so you can't sit on it completely straight. The room could also do with a fresh coat of paint. Absolutely nothing that could negatively affect your stay though!!

Very good for a hostal. The location is great, the room was super clean, bed was comfortable and A/C worked super well. The staff was also very nice. Value for money was better than I expected!

Just 3 little things; the shower was very small and with a plastic curtain that keeps coming towards the water, my room had no natural light despite the sunny day outside and the internet in my room was unstable (it worked well on the reception)

Very helpful and accommodating staff, who were great to speak some English where my Spanish was woefully insufficient. The room was clean, as was the separate bathroom. The location is very good (for my preferences), with a metro stop 100m away and comfortable walking distance to many varieties of restaurants. Excellent water pressure in the shower. Great value for the cost. Good air conditioning in the room (basically a mini-split system).

Street noise can be bothersome to some. I brought noise cancelling headphones and they 100% eliminated it. There was also some temporary road construction happening. These are beyond control of the hostal. The room is rather small, but it is what I expected; I don't mind this at all, but this is not ideal for everyone.

Room was spacious, with balcony doors that could open up for fresh air. Location was surprisingly so close to the main strip, a few minutes walk from the metro. Staff were so friendly and helpful, even providing scissors and a bottle opener when requested. Nice cafes along the street and a few grocery shop options.

No soundproofing. We could hear people's phone alarms go off, plugging chargers into wall sockets, coughing and being sick. As well as construction and protests coming from outside.

Great staff, very clean and really easy to get to. I got the metro from Cibelles to Noviciado metro stop and the hostal is 2 minutes walk. So easy to walk to Puerto del Sol or Plaza Mayor. They also kindly ordered me a taxi for my early (6am) flight from Madrid airport, and it arrived with no problems at all - was so grateful! The single room had plenty of space for me and my luggage. It was a separate bathroom but very very clean and not shared with man people. The room has AC for when it gets stuffy. It can be a tiny bit loud with other guests but thats to be expected in old buildings.

Nothing - just recommend some earplugs if a light sleeper.

We only stayed for one night but it was clean, the staff was very friendly, and the location was great. It’s easily accessible from the 001 bus which is free. It is located on a smaller street off the Main Street and it was walking distance to everything we wanted to see as it’s basically in the city centre. We rang the intercom to enter with no issues, reception was friendly and efficient. We were able to store our luggage before check in for free. The AC and shower worked well.

Close to everything you need: near metro, restaurants and shops, the room was clean and tidy. We were able to leave our belongings for free while our room was prepared.

The staff did not speak English, it was difficult to communicate. The other residents were very loud all night and the reception didn't say anything to them, even though all the rooms are next to the reception.
