Hostal Valencia Madrid

I liked the staff, all were friendly, very understanding and supportive. The bed was comfortable for sleeping, and I really enjoyed the view. From my window I could see the Gran Via avenue with its beautiful buildings. Overall the room was kept clean whenever I would leave my keys for cleaning. The quality of the shampoo was good (usually I take my own with me, but this time I forgot), compared to so many places, where shampoo is very low quality. After the checkout I left my suitcase in the waiting room with no issues. The hostel is situated in the very center of Madrid, and many big parks and places are in max 30 minutes of a walking distance.

The rooms were on the 5th floor, often there was a queue in front of the elevator, so I either would go down my foot, or wait a bit longer for the elevator. The hostel was not designed for a person on a wheelchair. The room's window was opening to the Gran Via avenue, which was often busy and full of tourists till the late night. Sometimes it gets noisy, but I would fall asleep anyway.

Really great location. Right in the heart of the city and walking distance from a lot of tourist sites. It was also right in front of the metro. The beds were so comfy and the facilities were clean.

The bathroom was absolutely tiny! Enough room to stand and barely anything beyond that. The door did not lock automatically so we had to lock the door every time we left the room which was a hassle. There was no elevator to the second floor so it was annoying to bring our luggage upstairs.

The location was superb - right in the heart of the city. The room was basic, we expected that, but was comfortable, clean and very affordable. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Only one power socket is poor these days - we had to unplug the lamp that used it, and rotate charging phones, camera etc. Room decor was a little tired and could do with a refresh. There were often queues for the lift, and it is a long climb if you use the stairs.

Location, Location, Location... The hotel is located at the heart of Madrid, close to sll the major attractions. We walked to most of them. The room was very clean, and the bed was comfy. The views day and night from the room were very good. Great place to set up base to explore Madrid 😀

The elevator was a bit dodgy and had a mind of its own. We walked down the stairs twice as it kept passing our floor with no one on it 🙃 😅

The view from the balcony was stunning, overlooking the Callao Plaza, with direct access to Metro station and buses, just a few minutes (~5) of walking from Plaza del Sol and other attractions. The staff was kind, with the reception open 24h. The room was pretty small and old, but considering the value of the location and the time spent in the room (just to sleep there), it's definitely worth the money. The building façade also looks very nice from the outside.

Old room (furniture and facilities), slow busy elevator (but neither is a big problem).

Hostal valencia is a very nice place to stay during the trip. I rented a private bedroom with bathroom. The bedroom and bathroom were clean, the bed was comfortable, and the location was amazing. The hostal is in Gran Vía, so it is one of the best places to stay in Madrid.

The elevator was slow and I missed breakfast, but those things didn't bothered me.

The location is truly great! Everything you might need is near, city centre is close by and metro station is just out the door. I'd say it's a pretty good deal considering location and price. The man who checked us in at the reception, was super nice and polite even though we didn't even communicate in the same language:)

The room needs some work, seems to be a bit old. In the photos it seems that the view would be to the street, but in reality, the window was to the inner yard, so basically, to the wall. Also, it might be a bit loud at night, sound isolation in the building is not too great. Also, there was only one very long pillow in the room, which isn't too comfortable when you're sharing the bed..

Perfect location !! and great value for money .. The hotel is right on Grand Via !! and I you can walk Almost to every sight …Metro Callao is right opposite .. there is also a Carre Four right next to the hotel and it’s great to pick up stuff for the kids !! overall it was a fantista stay ..The staff was kind and very helpful !!!

Location was fantastic, in the heart of the city. It was easy to explore the whole city on foot or by bus. It was great to have 24 hour reception and we could easily come and go.

Air conditioning didn’t work. There was some noise at night but this was expected as we were in the very centre of Madrid.

The accommodation is in a very good location in the heart of Madrid, where life takes place. Excellent public transport and within walking distance there are many "mandatory" attractions. The size of the room is right, clean, with a wonderful view. The staff is helpful and polite. There are also many restaurants in the area.

One small note: towels have no place, this could be easily solved. But there should never be a bigger problem :-)
