Safestay Madrid

Quite honestly one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. The staff at the front desk was really kind and helpful. They let you drop off your luggage for a very low fee while you're still not ready for the check-in which is very nice if you want to explore the city as soon as you arrive. The rooms were bigger than what I was expecting and the showers had a good amount of pressure. There are tables, a microwave and a vending machine in case you get hungry during the night. The location is perfect, 3 minutes away from the metro station and close to the supermarket and mcdonalds. I recommend it 100%.

The location was pretty good, right beside a supermarket, making it cheaper to buy necessary things, since in the hostel, everything is quite expensive. Really close to subway stations, making it extremely easy to go anywhere, and still very close to main places by foot. The rooftop bar is great!!!

The top bunk bed isn't super easy to access, especially if you are a short person, I fell trying to get off of it, for lack of places to secure your hands when coming down. Also, the beds don't have curtains, so once one person enters the room or anything, and you are a light sleeper, you will definitely be woken up. Luckily, it seems the majority of the people that stay there, aren't party people, so that helps. Also, I missed having activities that would help you interact with other people in the hostel.

some rules should be implemented about the time people enter in the room and what should be the guidelines.For instance in the room 2 of the peoples put full light and full noise at 2h45 am and make a lot of noise while in the room beside people were making party till 5am …impossible to sleep.

Everything is either recently renovated or very well maintained. Under 15 euros you can have sleep in the center of madrid. The materacces are very comfortable. Everything is clean and tidy. Very nice rooftop with amazing view. A lot of open common space can be used even after checking our or before checking in - space for remote work. Super nice night shift guy. Some of the beds are not bunk so you can have individual bed for yourself also - all of the have plug ins, night lamp and small shelf. The value for the price is just wow!

1. because it is so cheap you can have all kid of guests staying with you in the room - not very clean or smelling nice, snoring etc. 2. the thing that bothered me a bit was actual showers - the shower is small and it goes our directly to the corridor, so you cant really go our with the towel and brush your teeth for instance as anyone who will go to the room will see you.

The dorm room was superb, very comfortable bunks, lots of room, biggish lockers, good views over Sagasta. There were plenty of showers and toilets. It was nice to be on a women only floor. The lift was amazing, I felt like I was in an old movie everytime I used it. The hostel is on the edge of Centro, so most things were within walking distance, but if you struggled to walk, there is a good bus service and the Metro was less than five minutes away.

There was no kitchen. There was a kettle, but no cups, and a microwave but no plates in a room near reception.

The facilities at the hostel were great - we were able to leave our bags as we checkedin early. We only stayed for one night so didn't really use the facilities however they looked great. I liked there was a lift and also a water fountain on our level. The temperature of the hostel was also very comfortable. The bedding was also great. Close to some cafes etc but a bit of a walk to the busier more central parts of town.

There was a long queue at checkout time - I think we waited 20mins just to hand our keys back. The price for storing our bags on arrival and departure were very excessive! I understand if it was overnight. but 20 euros for 2 bags for all up 5 hours is extreme (2/3 hours pre and post stay). For some reason the cafe wasn't open to buy coffees on the day we left. The sign mentioned it would stay open till 11am but for some reason at 9:30 they said it was closing. The bathroom was also very smelly - door had to stay shut and even then the smell wafted into the bedroom space.

The location is nice close to centre. walk is decent. Hostel has a lift which is a pro. great receptionist guy during the night shift.

Day receptionist female does not know things around Madrid and does not smile. The cafeteria lady is super mean. She was very arrogant and not accommodating for customers at Hostel. Food she serves is super expensive and not worth it because of her attitude towards clients. Do not book Breakfast there better go out. No towels in beds included. There is something like basic facilities in hostel which were not there. A bit disappointing but overall the hostel is nice

THE BEST hostel I've ever stayed. It was only one night but it had the biggest rooms, the views were amazing! My room was a female room with 4 beds (two bunk beds) and it had SOOO much space, the whole floor was female only, they had MANY little shower and toilets rooms so never a line to use it. The sinks had good lighting and mirrors. The room also had hairdryer in it along with a dresser with mirrors so you could get all ready inside. It was by far the most beautiful hostel I've ever seen. They had fun things like bar-hunting with everyone so it also seemed very fun!

The beds could have a little something to make it more private.

The hostel is pretty clean and has a nice design aesthetic. Friendly staff. For the price point, they’ve covered what you would assume to be the basics, so that’s good. Also the location is really good and right next to the Metro.

Despite what you see in the photos, the rooftop terrace isn’t fully accessible to hostel guests. It’s actually a bar and it’s run separately from the hostel (different businesses). It’s not always open, and when it is, you’d better plan on buying one of the bar’s overpriced drinks, otherwise the bar staff won’t waste a minute before coming over to where you’re sitting and telling you to get out. (This was my experience on the evening of 5 March 2022.) The terrace bar customers will come down and use the toilets in the hostel, but don’t think that entitles you to relaxing on their terrace. I was very upset by this. While it wasn’t SafeStay’s fault, I hope they can remove whatever company is running the terrace bar.

The room was very clean and comfortable and also the shared bathroom. There were numerous tolilets and showers in floor, so you could always find an available one. In addition the location of the hostel was central: the metro is just alround the corner and with that you can easily get alround; the whole area felt also really safe. There also several bakeries nearby to have breakfast in the morning and there are supermarlets in the same street. The structure is newly furnished and the rooftop terrace is definitely a bonus. The staff is very kind and ready to answer any question.
