Amazing Responsive staff, nice quality bed. The bed are placed in a way that others wont disturb you. I like the ambiance of the hostel. If you are someone who is looking for an hostel to stay and be generally safe, and having some opportunity to enjoy, while.not paying enormous prices, i would definitely recommend. Also staff helped me to find places to visit and explained me a lot of stuff i didnt know.

This is more like what to not expect list instead of what i didnt like. It is not a 5 star hotel. You might get some noises to your rooms so if you cant sleep with noises it might be a bad experience. The rooms are a bit small(if you want to spend most of the time in the rooms, otherwise enough for basic needs and not feeling others in your shoulders) Still veeery good tho.

I only stayed one night as I was on the way to Barcelona however this was a little gem of a hostel and I almost felt sorry to not be staying longer. Great layout of room, code for door so you don't have to carry a card or keys, super comfy beds, clean showers and sinks etc. Neighbourhood appears really cute + was close to shops, supermarkets etc. Fairly easy to get to on the train from the airport.

The service at the restaurant next door to your hostel (which appears to be affiliated with the hostel). I went there for dinner and felt the food and service was super terrible. Green potatoes used to make chips (health hazard), vegetable burger that looked exactly like meat, rude patrons in the restaurant and staff who just ignore you repeatedly when you are trying to get service. I wouldn't recommend going there.

Bastardo is always lovely. I went for a six person instead of a four person room this time, which was a bit more chaotic but totally fine after a few days. Well designed rooms, great atmosphere and good facilities like a small communal kitchen with plenty of space to store a few groceries. I had some problems with the laundry machine and staff was very patient with me and even let me use the dryer despite not having enough coins. Cute events going on always and it’s in a great part of Madrid with a metro around the corner. Great showers! Good people. Felt welcome and safe.

Air conditioning needs a big fix up, especially in the basement. I sat in the kitchen for a few hours to work and started getting intense headaches and nausea. In the rooms it’s fine, but still pretty dry air coming out of pretty noisy vents. Seems also like a couple of tiny details, like some door handles, soap dispensers etc need some maintenance as well. On the ground floor it’s not entirely clear to me still where the hostel ends and the Limbo bar begins, this could be indicated better.

The room is neat and clean, and the decoration style is also very beautiful. It's great that the staff cleans the room every day. And It's close to the city centre, so it's convenient to do whatever you want. This is my first time to come to Spain. 😊As a person who is not very good at Spanish and English, everyone I met here is very friendly. The reception staff is very positive and warm, and the attitude of the cleaning staff is also very good. Even the roommates I met are very friendly! I am very lucky and very grateful! I will always remember this experience.

The setup here is really nice. I've stayed here twice, and will continue to stay at this hostel. It's easy to meet people here, the lobby is great, as is the bar, food is excellent (lunch and dinner; breakfast is ok), rooms cleaned daily, and it's directly next to the Metro, and the Madrid History Museum, which is free, and honestly, my favorite museum in Madrid (and I visited the Golden Triangle).

The location is further out than some might like, but the Metro is so close, I didn't see this as a real problem.

The Location is great, walking distance from metro and buses, as well as trendy restaurants and cafes! The Rooms were organized in this interesting wraparound way where every bunkbed faces a wall so you have a little more privacy. There is a shower room , a toilet room, and two sinks in the room itself. I originally didn't get the breakfast, but decided to partake the day of, and I think it was reasonably priced, with enough options, and they constantly refilled which was nice. There is laundry in the basement, it only uses coins but I was able to get change from the staff and they give you the laundry pod to use as well (included in the cost of the wash). There was only one washer and one dryer so you may have to wait if there is someone else using it. There is a restaurant in the lobby, which is convenient if you're tired or just have no time. The building in general was clean, had several elevators, and I didn't really feel issues about too much noise.

There were no hairdryers in the rooms. You could however get one from the lobby staff , leaving a deposit which you get back upon returning it. The bunkbeds are kind of scary. I've used bunkbeds before and this one stood out as a bit more troublesome, not sure if it's the height or the placement, anyways I would suggest avoiding the top bunk if that would bother you. They didn't have a railing to 'keep you in' which combined with the stairs to get in always gave me the sense that i could fall off, not while sleeping, but while getting in, or trying to get my belongings together.

The room decor was nice, the bed was comfortable and the room had double windows so it was quiet. Front desk staff were nice. The neighborhood was amazing, close to everything, very comfortable getting in and out of, lots to do around.

The elevator required a qr code to operate, so did the room door. It's weird and uncomfortable as you can't enter your room or floor if you run out of a battery on your phone (almost happened to me). The front desk staff were nice, but the food staff did not understand simple requests. The shower had no adequate lighting or a window. It felt like showering in a posh prison cell :/

One of the best hostels in EU countries I ever experienced. Comfortable layout of beds. Dorm room but has privacy. Good location (less than 5' from closest metro station, Tribunal.). I like the digitalized system using guest's mobile phone. Very helpful staffs (Christina, muchas gracias!).

Room for improvement: For those who like to party/clubbing, the hostel create events. I hope the clubbers are not hanging around at hostel, because from my room I could listen to noisy laughing from the lobby/resto until after midnite.

I loved how central this hostel was, it was just fantastic. Close to a vibrant night scene with plenty to do and see, including all the cultural must see sites close by and within walking distance. The room was just perfect too, a comfy and very clean bed which made such a difference, two amazing showers and private toilet in the room. It was just great. A nice touch having a new shower mat every day too which shows how much this hostel considers the little extras. The bed light and double USB chargers on each bed was so convenient and goes a long way in making everything so easy to enjoy your stay here. There were also two lovely big windows to view the hustle and bustle on the busy street below. Can't say enough about the amazing kitchen and eating area, it was so funky and clean with ample storage in the huge fridge.... They clearly know how to provide a great guest experience here. Honestly, this is a little gem you don't want to miss staying at if you visit Madrid; you won't regret it. I felt safe and secure with QR code access to lift and room, and a 24hr reception. I sampled the amazing food at the adjoining restaurant too called limbo!! I wanted to stay longer but sadly couldn't, I will defo be back though and Bastardo will be my go to place. Thank you to Christine too, the lovely receptionist who helped me with info to the airport. She was so kind and helpful, writing the whole journey details I needed, great customer service thank you. There is a great vibe here, and a wonderful crew working this busy hostel... It runs like clockwork, the management should be proud to have you all on board. Big shout out to the lovely housekeeping too who without we would not have the clean rooms and facilities we have as travellers.

Just one small thing the room needed, is more hooks or shelving. A very minor inconvenience, but would make life easier as there was know here to hang towel/coat etc... But yo be honest, that's just personal preference and did nothing to ruin my stay in any way.

Modern, clean and the 6 person shared room was designed to not feel all the people. I like that the rooms had private bathroom and shower.

It is missing some practical features. The shower had no place to put clothes or toiletries. I had to put my stuff on the floor. It would be good for the beds to have some sort of small compartment to put essentials to have on hand. The suitcase lockers are too small. Could not fit my suitcase.
