Location is great and hotel is very cute, staff are very nice.

The standard room has a tiny open closet with minimal space for clothes. However the suite has a big closet and plenty space.

Close to Gran Via, beautiful hotel and rooms, comfortable beds, modern bathrooms. Reception staff excellent. Amazing breakfast a la carte.

Pool and rooftop is small and can be crowded. Hit and miss with the staff overall. Some nice, some a little less, mostly for the food service. Pricy overall but the location and luxury demand it. Crowded reception when check in due to lack of space. Not easy to drive to the hotel (and around) and no valet parking offered. Have a deal with nearby parking but acknowledge that discount doesn’t always work due to automated machine. Would expect better from a 5-star hotel.

I am writing this to express my gratitude for the exceptional service I received during my stay at your hotel from 21 to 23 April 2024. The staff at Thompson Hotel Madrid made our honeymoon visit a memorable one, and I would like to give a special shout-out to Roman for her outstanding service. Roman welcomed us with open arms and went the extra mile to make our visit special. Her kind and hospitable nature made us feel right at home. She was attentive to our needs and was always available to help us with any questions we had. I highly appreciate the effort Roman and the hotel staff put in to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The wonderful experience we had at your hotel will remain with us forever.

I had simple coffee and croissants / pain au chocolates for breakfast…delicious! However, breakfast options were plentiful at the Omar restaurant (attached to the hotel). I enjoyed the rooftop patio and pool. It was a great respite after a long day in the heat. Nice bar snacks and drinks! The concierge services for assisting in taxis and wake up calls and room / cleaning were excellent. Staff were friendly and polite. They helped my colleague as she forgot her glasses in her room. They found the item after her consent and promptly sent it in a taxi to our business meeting. Great service! My bottled water & coffee were replenished when I asked for additional quantities in my room. The bed & pillows were very comfortable and shower had great water pressure and temperature. Location was very central close to Plaza del Sol, Gran Via, Chueca and a 15 min walk from the Palace and 20min walk to Park de Retiro. Lots of shopping and amenities at your doorstep. Maybe a little too much shopping !

Not much! In the morning, there was only one person behind the coffee station. Another person would be helpful for the morning business rush. However, the staff were very accommodating and lovely!

The room was very nice, the staff very friendly and helpful and the breakfast every morning was amazing! I would go as far as saying the best breakfast I've had at most hotels.

The hotel location is very central, near to Gran Via and also to Puerta del Sol. Availability is good with public transportation (metro and bus), but not so well with car, as the hotel is practically in pedestrian zone. For this reason the surrounding is crowded and laud, but sound isolation is good and we did not find it disturbing in the room. The room design is beautiful, though not practical. We found the light concept perfect, especially the night lights. Since the hotel is new, the furniture is in good shape. We found the bed comfortable. The bathroom is also nice, but maybe a bit dark. We found the shower powerful. The staff were accommodating and very helpful all the time. The best breakfast we ever had in a hotel, it was a real highlight.

The rooftop pool area seems to be too small, there are not enough sunlounger. Even though we found the room design pretty, we did not find appropriate place to place the luggage and fund the open shelves not comfortable to store our personal belongings. Since the breakfast is not buffet-system, we had to plan more time than expected. The view from the rooms is unfortunately not perfect, until the Plaza del Carmen in front of the hotel is being renovated.

Very cosy hotel, great design, unique lobby, corridors and rooms’ decoration, comfortable rooms, excellent teams (individually). Special thanks to the front desk teams for their outstanding dedication, their passion and their sense of important details (the excellence award goes to Christina, but all were fantastic). Same for the doormen, extremely considerate, courteous and genuinely friendly). We felt really taken care of.

The Omar Restaurant: absolutely amazing food (cheers to the chef and his team), really great people individually, but extremely poor team and service coordination in the restaurant. Total chaos at breakfast and dinner time, the list of bugs is long. Great sailors but no captain on the deck. We gave a 9, but to us Thompson Hotel is worth a solid 10 if you fix this Omar’s management issue. Good luck, we wish you the best because this hotel is incredible !

Unfortunate renovations to the the square in front of the hotel made the aspect much less appealing.

Dinner reservation made by hotel concierge to very serious upmarket fish restaurant whereto maitre d' was more intent on impressing with her vision of food rather than ensuring true hospitality...other staff were fine but the evening was very uncomfortable. This was a bad call from the concierge who possibly could have made a more informal and fun choice (we were on holiday after all).

The room was very spacious and the hotel is in a good location for walking to attractions. The hotel staff was attentive and curtious. The morning breakfast was good and the pool was nice on a hot day.

The thermostat in Room 708 needs to be adjusted as the temperature doesn't reflect what you set it at. We couldn't get it cold enough. Also, you hear every noise from the rooftop in the morning from tables being shuffled to any work being done above. The room itself is great, but I would stay away from Room 708 if you have a choice.
