Great hotel with the best views over the Calella bay (if you get a room with a balcony, otherwise the lounge or the excellent outside terrace have basically the same views). Staff are invariably, and non-ingratiatingly, friendly and helpful. Calella (de Palafrugell...that's important to distinguish it from the other Calella down the coast) is a beautiful Costa Brava town with great beaches and some excellent places to eat. It's a very 'non-package' destination, and although it's been gentrified a fair bit it retains a small fishing village vibe.

We had a room with a balcony, with the breathtaking view of the bay. However the romantic feel at night was somewhat marred by the harsh fluorescent lights on the front of the hotel...which can't be turned off or down. That's the only thing I would recommend that the hotel consider changing...

the hotel not only has Spanish charm, the staff make you feel so at home. its a very special hotel and I would highly recommend, if your booking go for the breakfast option. The breakfast is well worth it. We are on our way home after 2 very special weeks and can’t wait to go back. The only thing to be aware of is restaurant in the area are also fantastic, you will need to pre book restaurants. Plus a lot of very pricey restaurants, also worth it, but it’s good to know to look up where you want to go and spend your money. very special location the sea swims are the best in the world. book it you will love it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The staff were very friendly and welcoming, they go above and beyond to assist you. The room was big enough for the two of us and the bathroom was huge! Be sure to get an ocean front view, it's worth the price. Breakfast was lovely and had many choices. The view from the dining area is therapy itself. The are many amazing restaurants on the boardwalk and the beach directly in front of the hotel has an awesome bar/restaurant you can order drinks from on the beach. Be sure to ask the front desk for a beach umbrella and towels as they have them! If you are traveling from Barcelona I recommend using BlaBlacar they are a ride share service that will take you directly to Palafrugell for $7 a person in an 1.5 hours. The busses are expensive and it took almost 5 hours to arrive to the bus station in town. Do yourself a favor and just book it! Palafrugell is a magical place. I hope to be back one day!

I wish the rooms had small refrigerators for water ect....

My stay at Hotel Mediterrani was exceptional, far exceeding expectations for a 3-star hotel. Although I typically opt for 4-star accommodations or higher, this hotel stood out with its unmatched customer service, which you might not even find in more upscale hotels. The location was exceptional, offering convenience and beauty. Our room, equipped with a spotless balcony, was perfectly clean, enhancing our comfort. The breakfast provided was also quite good

Fantastic location! The hotel is directly at the sea side, just a few meters down to the beach, which for me is the nicest village beach I know.

The furniture in the room. There were small bedside tables and a small regular table, but none of them had a drawer or something else underneath where you could put smaller things like books, sunglasses or whatever into - so all the small utilities which one has with him for a 5 nights stay needed to be placed directly onto the tables themselves, thus leaving no more place for other things at all. This is really very uncomfortable and I would had expected a somewhat more practical furniture.

I love this hotel and for sure we will be back, it’s close to the beach and the staff is very nice. This time we got a smaller room on the 2nd floor ( for the same price as last time 3rd floor ) but that’s subject to availability and the staff was kind enough to explain the situation.

Well, some beach towels would be great to be provided and maybe invest in some nicer amenities and use ecological products for cleaning, the smell of chlorine and ambiental spray in the room is a bit annoying and irritating.

I love the location of this hotel and the staff is very friendly and kind. We would love to come back.

We liked everything, but there was a "white noise" sound at night in the room - couldn't figure it out from where, maybe the climatization - also the shower cap made a strong sound when the water pressure was up - anyway, nothing very important.

The location of the hotel is perfect as it is right next to the beach. There is a lovely sunny terrace. The little town is beautiful. The staff are friendly. We didn’t have breakfast but heard it was very good. The shower and bathroom layout really good.

We woke up early each morning as we could hear staff arriving/starting work. There was a charge for beach towels!

Absolutely brilliant location right above the best beach in Calella de Palafrugell. Convenient parking behind the hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Generous and varied breakfast. Since the rooms don't have fridges, they're happy to keep your beers cold in the bar fridge.
