The hotel is located perfectly in the centre of the Old Town, beside the cathedral. The staff Mary and Elena were exceptional! The room was well equipped with a minibar, comfy bed and beautiful view of the square Fonseca. Modern bathroom with a great walk-in shower.

Be mindful that the entrance to reception for taxi drop off has a set of stairs from the street to reception. This is due to the main entrance where the lift is located, is on the square being on a pedestrianised street. No coffee facilities in the room, but nice taverna on the ground floor.

Friendly staff and excellent food in the Taberna. After a very long flight from the US they were able to get us in our room a bit earlier than expected. The hotel is exceptionally clean and comfortable. Best croquetas we’ve eaten in Spain, (and my husband is Spanish so this says a lot!). Breakfast was a nice assortment of food including vegan and gluten-free options. Definitely recommend.

An amazing place to stay! We had a room overlooking the 'rose' garden with a huge bath tub in the living room. Front desk people were super friendly and went out of their way to help. Cafe people downstairs were great as well. We liked it so much we kept extending our stay.

The staff were wonderful. Very helpful and friendly. Location brilliant. So close to the Cathedral, historical icons and restaurants. Very vibrant area. We arrived in the middle of a festival so was a little noisy as would be expected. Hotel itself is charming and we have rebooked for when we return to Santiago for a night.

Rooms are a little expensive but you pay for the location and that's the choice we made

There are so many good things i would like to say about the hotel. I really loved Hotel Montes. 1. the property is so close to all the tourists attractions. Everything is walking distance away from the hotel. Their bed is the most comfortable bed in ever had ! 2.The staff is very accommodating and helpful with our needs most especially Mary F. Who arranged everything for us! 3.The room is exceptionally clean! Everytime we go back to our hotel from our tours the smell is so good! 4. the interior design is very quaint. Our room have a small balcony wherein we can watch the procession during Semana Santa! 5.Oh by the way, their breakfast is also good!

Location: It is literary a heart of Santiago. Ancient style building close to Cathedral and all shopping area. Windows with balcony goes to Plaza, beautiful view from 3rd floor to an old city. Hot water, clean towels, warm rooms, heater in bathroom, elevator, lovely English breakfast for 10 euro. Very romantic place for vacation. Hotel situates 6 min walk away from Airport Bus stop. Bus 6A follows RUA DE ENSINANZA, costs 1 EURO only till airport. Takes 40min ride, leaves every 30 - 45min. Big yellow round 🟡 stiker on bus stop will guide you. Very kind and helpful staff, got all the support and attention.

No free electric power plugs, have to pull out the light or fridge to insert phone charger. Good idea to grab personal extension cable. All great. Loving it.

My two sons and I stayed here after weeks on the Camino de Santiago. The location is great and a 15 second walk to the Cathedral. The Hotel itself is as advertised and we had a balcony overlooking a nice courtyard to dry our laundry. The shower was strong, hot and pretty good for European standards. This Hotel felt quite nice after all the Albergue’s we had visited. I needed a taxi at 5 am on our exit day and the Hotel set it up for me. I’d stay here again.

I wasn’t sure if we had a bathtub. We did not, but the shower was good enough to make me feel like a human again.

Gorgeous boutique hotel with lovely private rooms. I stayed in a junior suite and had a bathtub right in my room! The hotel is located within a stones throw from the cathedral and in a great location for shopping and food. Recommend SAN Jaime restaurant right across ! The reception was friendly and helpful and provided a map with recommendations of what to see in the city. The bed was comfortable and the views from my balcony gorgeous.

The water pressure in the shower and bathtub was abysmal. Bathtub took over an hour to fill up due to the poor pressure and water never really got very hot. The shower was only a lukewarm trickle too.
