The hotel is in a perfect location, especially when travelling by train. The small park between the central railway station and the hotel distances the building from the business and noise of the streets. The interior design of the lobby and restaurant is moody and accentuates the period features of the building pleasantly. The room itself was nice and tidy, although quite outdated. We did not mind, as we enjoyed the old world charm of it.

The room was great and the location was perfect. We were just a short walk from the Kalmar Central Station (across the street) and that allowed us access to the Flixbus we arrived on from Stockholm. When we departed we took the train to continue our journey. Taking Flixbus only cost us about $30 US each between Stockholm and Kalmar, very inexpensive. The breakfast menu and spread were excellent. The Hotel staff gave us excellent advice to visit an Italian restaurant a short walk away called Ernesto's. Great value and authentic Neapolitan flavor.

The hotel's location was great, room was a good size and it was facing the back of the building, so no noise from the restaurants in the plaza (and there were graduation parties there!!!). Breakfast was excellent and the staff very helpful. The dinner we had at the hotel's restaurant was one of the best we had during our trip - definitely worth a try!

The location of the room - we were right where the breakfast buffet was set up every morning, and the activity started around 7... not necessarily the time you'd like to wake up on holidays...

Beautiful old hotel nicely modernised. Single rooms at the back face a quiet green park. Superlative buffet and tea or coffee available in the afternoon. Very kind and helpful staff.Central location. 5 minutes from bus and train station.

The independent restaurant on ground floor is very good but constat daylong muzak is very tiresome.de

The building and the location in Kalmar can't be better, looking to a beautiful square close by to the train station, the building is full of charm and heritage. Restaurant is one the best in town if you like meat.

I think it was overall overpriced and the breakfast was only average, little choice on coffees (only filtered) and not much selection in the rest.

I will always stay here when visiting Kalmar. It is a beautiful building in a perfect location, with lovely staff and a delicious breakfast. The coffee is also very good and strong! Very warm inside in winter, but you can control the radiator and open the window if you prefer a cooler room.

It is an old building with poor sound insulation, so if you are unlucky with your neighbours it can be noisy. But they do offer ear plugs in the room! The cleaning in the bathroom was not the best this time, with some hair in the bath and bath mat. But in general it is a very tidy place!

The stairs at the entrance hindered me a little as I had a very large and heavy suitcase. The door is also very heavy and I had a hard time opening it and getting in with my suitcase.

It was an old building 2min from the train station, with a very nice restaurang and amazing people. It had large windows to the the torget in front which was a nice view. The breakfast was rich.

My toalett was the only negative, since it was very little with a small fat that made it a challenge to wash my face.

Room was reasonably sized with a (albeit small) bathtub. TV worked but was a little dated. Lots of storage space for bags, clothes etc. The room was very quiet even though the hotel is located right in the most restaurant/night club dense part of the city. The breakfast itself upheld Swedish standards and breakfast area was clean but a little cramped. Very happy with the stay overall.

A little tricky to get the room key. Didn't work as advertised and had to ask the restaurant staff.

It is a historic hotel with old traditions. We liked the style and the symbiosis between old and new. The hotel is right in the city center, the closest parking is a few steps away. The breakfast was excellent. The check-in was very fast.

The room became very small when they put the additional bed which we needed but they warned us about this at the time of the reservation.
