The hospitality of the host was excelent. We paid 10chf per person per day for the breakfast which was fair price comparing to other hotels and what we got to eat. We have also had an indian food as dinner one night which was really tasty. The outdoor restaurant had a very beautiful view to the lake and mountain. Parking was free of charge. The room was delivered totally cleaned with all clean sheets and beds. The location is really good. Easy access to many hiking areas, telecabines and lifts, lake and its swimming site and ferry for lake tour.

There was not a daily roome service, towel and toilet paper were provided as per request. There was not tv or hair drier, refrigrator and iron in the room. During the night you could hear the noise from upper floor if people were walking. Our room didn't have any nice view to lake or mountain however in reservation it was read that room will have view to lake or mountains.

It is a subtle family run business and great for a short vacation. The owner was very friendly and provided us with suggestions on the scenic places around. We had our dinner at the Hotel restaurant and it was amazing. I would definitely recommend it.

You may want to check with the owner in case if you are a bigger family as you may find the budget room to be small. You will have to drive about 7 km up the mountain, so may not be perfect if you are looking for a Hotel on the Highway route.

We really enjoy our one day stay at Schafli. Place itself is modest and equipment is a little bit older but it is really comfortable and cosy. It is located over the lake and few minutes walk from local cable car, with great view on surrounding mountains. What was so exceptional for us in this place was the servise and the cuisine. Owners are so nice and welcoming, everything was done to our best comfort and then comes cherry on the top, which was the great evening indian dish! We love indian food but we are also kind of strict when it comes to quality and originality of the food. Dinner was simply wonderfull! It was so delicious for us, adults, as well as for our children (from 9-11 years). We had been served by various dishes, vegetarian as well as meat dishes, everything cooked with much care! We thought we were at traditional family dinner gathering in Punjab for a moment, what an experience! We loved it there and we are looking forward to come back for prolonged stay this time!

Excellent Location, Friendly staff(owner& family), Delicious Indian food, Free Parking, Free WiFi, Great views from the hotel, comfy beds, Kids friendly, value for money. The family was so welcoming and helpful; they made us feel at home. The single bed was really large. The Indian dinner was really tasty and wonderful breakfast for really cheap price. The Room and toilet were really clean. The bus stop is just in front of the hotel. Super market and ATM in walkable distance. My kid was playing with the Owner``s kids all the time. Overall we had a wonderful experience and we will come back for sure.

The room was small (as already described) but great for the price. Need to take stairs to the room. Nothing much to complain about as its good value for money.

It is very lovely hotel wit family charm. The family running this hotel are very kind and helpful. The dinner was excellent, we liked that he shares with us what he does eat as well (Indian food (with Swiss touch = Not that spicy than normal)). We steeped very well and the room is comfortable. The breakfast ist good and enough choices. The bread is fresh from the bakery. When you stay in Amden than I can only recommend this hotel.

Ideal as a basic hotel, close to the ski lifts and directly across the road from the bus stop. Fabulous host/owner, funny guy. Excellent curry buffet dinner in the evening. It is a basic hotel and you get what you pay for, no added luxuries. Hot shower and adjustable room heating. Car park behind the hotel.

The hotel is perfect for a longer weekend with a great location close to hiking trails and the walensee. The room is simple but for us it was everything we needed and the price for it is very fair. The beds are very comfortable which was important to us, especially if you spend all day hiking. The indian food is very authentic and the hosts take care of their guests. The hotel offers free parking and there are many parking lots right next to the hotel so it was always easy to find one.

We loved the family room with enough beds for us and our 3 kids to sleep comfortably! The owner was very nice, and we had a great breakfast in the morning. We were there to explore Walensee, and it was nice to stay in a quiet location in the town above the lake.
