Quality hotel with good and friendly staff, all the necessary services available and a beautiful view of the town and the lake. The rooms were spacious and clean. Slightly harder beds but overall satisfaction with the services. City transport and access included in the price of accommodation a great advantage.

We absolutely love this place. The administrator of the hotel did an upgrade of our room and we received very nice apartment with a great view. The stuff was very helpful and nice. Thanks them a lot :) The apartment was clean. The decor is a little bit outdated, but I had a charmingly nostalgic feel, because everything was in good condition. The hotel is located in 25 minutes by bus from the city center. And if you don't have a car be prepared to take a bus. The bus schedule and road is a little bit chaotic (sometimes they are late and the road is a serpentine) but the amazing view on Lugano is worth it.

We stayed one day in the hotel and were impressed by hospitality of personnel. We arrived late in the evening quite tired and administrator organized dinner for us. Many thanks!!! Parking place was in front of the entrance door. Unfortunately, that week was completely rainy, otherwise we would definitely have stayed here for some more days. We had a wonderful view of the mountain lake from the window, as well as a cozy balcony. The room was not big, but it was enough for a comfortable stay. A quiet place for those who want to sleep off a long journey, even with the windows open. Perfect breakfast and dinner. The hotel is located on a mountain, a little away from the city center. There is a direct pedestrian path to the city with a corresponding uphill climb on the way back, bus stop in front of the hotel or you can drive in 5 minutes by car.

Coming from the US, this a gem. It's an old fashioned Italian hotel . The view is totally breathtaking. The room was clean. The front desk welcoming. The breakfast was delicious in my opinion. Not plastic made like we have in the US for the rice range. Real Italian cheese, fresh and real bread, eggs, italian cheese, charcuterie. . The road to get to the hotel is steep so if you have suitcases, unload at the front door. The hotel in 10 min from Bre . A cute Italian village. Typical with a view. I loved this hotel. It's also very quiet.

The bathroom is not handicapped friendly but I didn't care. That's the way I authentic hotels

We booked a simple room, but they upgraded us to a junior suite with a lake view! The room is comfortable, the view from the balcony is stunning (see photo). The balcony is spacious with two lounge chairs and a small drinks table. The breakfast is excellent, the coffee freshly prepared to order. You get a Ticino ticket with your stay, with free public transit in the whole canton – we used the bus to get from the hotel to the city and back, and used the trains to go between cities during our stay.

We had booked an economy room but on arrival we were told we had been upgraded - wow, what a view! Our huge window looked out on to the mountains and lake and it was spectacular. There was a balcony where we could sit and take it all in while enjoying a beer from the mini bar. Breakfast was fabulous and the staff were all fantastic. The bus just outside every half hour was an easy way to get to the centre of Lugano.

Located on the hillside of the Monte Bré, the view was fantastic! Also the free Tino Ticket was great: every half hour there was a bus from Lugano, which was very convenient. Lastly, the pool vas very nice as well, kids had a lot of fun. Walking down the small paths to the lake thought the gardens of the villas was an exceptional beautiful experience. Breakfast was very good.

The hotel facilities have come to age a little bit, but in a positive way this had a lot of flair and charm from the 70ties. Since it was off season, the staffing was quite reduced, so sometimes the reception is not manned, and the room keys were accessible for everyone.

The view from the room was excellent. However, next time, we will ask for higher level floor so the street lamp pole does not block the view. The breakfast was very nice; especially to have it while looking out at the great view.

This is an old style hotel with room keys attached to the heavy key chain, But it actually adds a nice charm to the hotel and I did not mind it that much. The wi-fi signal was not stable, but again I think sometimes we need to get away from internet and just relax.

We were surprised by how big the room was! We didn’t realize it was basically a 2 bdrm/ 2 bathroom place. It was huge! We also loved the view!! The view is what made us choose Hotel Colibri. The pool area was also really nice! It was a little too cold for our girls to take a dip but I’m sure it would’ve warmed up by the afternoon. The bus stop is right out front and the bus comes often! It was an easy 15 min. ride into Lugano. So worth it to stay up here for the view and it’s also nice and quiet in this area vs Lugano.

The decor is super outdated.

Beautiful views from the rooms and restaurants. Pool area was nice and has a bar open at times. Bus stop right outside the property was awesome for getting into Lugano and only 1 bus is on that route (12) so very easy to navigate back n forth. Limited parking but it’s Europe and on a hillside so it’s understandable. Staff was very helpful with all questions and super friendly.
