Lovely hotel, very clean and attentive staff. The beach is lovely, for our first week there were plenty of beds with noone ‘reserving’ with towels, the second week fell into the school holidays and suddenly beds were all being reserved which was a shame as we had liked how quiet it was. Would definitely recommend going when it is not the school holidays. On the whole we had a really great 2 weeks, very relaxing and our room was lovely. The hotel is in the perfect location, on the beach but a 2 minute walk to lots of bars and restaurants which were all great and a lot cheaper than the hotel, saying that the food and drinks at the hotel were great just more expensive than you’d expect in Thailand. Breakfast has lots of good options also. Khao Lak seems to be popular with German tourists. I would recommend staying here if visiting Khao Lak.

The only small negative was that housekeeping did not show up until 4pm some days to clean the room, not a massive issue but was slightly inconvenient.

The location is super! You can easily walk to a very busy street with all kind of restaurants, massage, bars, supermarkets, pharmarcies and night market. We enjoyed talking a walk daily in the street just opposite the hotel and making use of all these places. The swimming pool is well-located, warm and welcoming, and just on the beach. The cocktail bar at the pool is amazing, as you can drink all types of well-made cocktails while seating in the pool. The breakfast was divers from warm & cold meal, and own-selected meal cooked in front of you. The staff in general are warm and friendly.

There were a misunderstanding during the check-in. However, it was solved by the head of the reservation team, who was friendly and customer-oriented.

The best location in Khao Lak, within close vicinity of restaurants and other service. Beautiful beach, and beach area of the hotel with comfortable beachbeds. Impeccably clean rooms and common areas. Comfortable beds, strong but quiet AC. Helpful and polite staff everywhere - reception, restaurant, beachbed area, cleaning. Very good breakfast buffet with enough variety for our 2-week stay. The pool is large enough (~30m on its long side) and 1.20m deep which is good for both swimming and hanging out. The beach is clean, sandy, no stones or seagrass - just perfect. The seawater is not island-style crystal-clear and was usually murky, but this is to be expected. (Take a trip to Similan islands for postcard-quality powdery-sand beaches with transparent water.) Guests were very few when we stay, origin was mixed, including China, Thai, Sweden, Russia, everyone was well behaved, there were families with children and older couples. The vibe is calm and relaxed, not the drinking-and-partying type. Our stay included a New Year’s Eve celebration. I strongly recommend it, it had a nice entertainment program with music alternating between West and Thai favourites, and the highlight of the program for me was the Fire Show, which was very impressive. The beach area of the hotel is well maintained and better than the hotels lining the beach to the north, where you can see some erosion of the sand and concrete structures to enforce the facilities. It is possible to take a walk along the beach to the south, we walked for several km, it is almost empty. If you decide to go far, mind the tides, because the small creek south from La Vela hotel can fill so much during high tide, that you would have to wade chest-level water or swim through it to cross, and there doesn’t seem to be another way to go around it anywhere near.

The only issue we had was water pressure - almost or completely lacking hot water and very weak pressure in the “peak” period around 6-7pm when everyone is usually closing their day and taking showers simultaneously. In the rest of the day it was OK. We were moved from a room in the South wing to one in the North wing which improved the situation.

Everything from the staff which are extremely friendly and always willing to help and provide the best experience possible to the location, the rooms which are spacious, modern and satisfy all the needs. The location of the hotel on the beach is perfect, as well as the restaurant for the breakfast with the nice view of the sea. The breakfast had a wide selection of options and I really enjoyed the nice touch of having cappucinos and eggs benedict made daily (this is above all the hotels with breakfast included I've seen before). Happy hour contains a great selections of cocktails which you can serve from the pool. Everything else has gone smoothly. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for pure relaxation.

I believe this is probably not necessarilly the hotel fault, but there was some sewage smell coming into the bathroom only in the morning for couple of hours.

The property was very well set out. Staff were very friendly. Service was second to none. Value for money was incredible. They have some really good packages with some of the booking organisations. The pool to die for, with swim up bar. Happy hours through the day. The food was so incredible, tasty, fresh. Room service was so good. The emenities were great. Will go back again.

One hour and half approximately from all the activities you can book to do was only issue. But if you wanted five star relaxation food and service you can look past this.

A good choice of breakfast and it's lovely to be able to sit and see the ocean. The rooms are large and very comfortable and I believe, all have a view of the ocean. Towels were great, shower was fine and the rooms are clean. Large size balcony. The staff were friendly. Check-in was simple. There's a great bar right outside the hotel. Overall, we would visit again.

The 'egg station' requires two members of staff to speed things up. The hotel would benefit from a beach bar like the hotel next door. The sun loungers need newer cushions; they are tired and not that comfortable.

It is a great size and thoughtfully laid out. It never felt over busy yet there were many guests. The green open space gave a sense of openness and simplicity. It felt peaceful and relaxing - which is what we wanted. The staff were incredibly friendly, polite and helpful. We loved the poolside happy hour cocktails (maybe a bit too much!) We also enjoyed using the Kayak and paddle boards.

The pool table and table tennis table was inside which got very warm. There was no fan or aircon to cool it down, so it was not very pleasant to play.

Location is great with lots of restaurants nearby. Room was very spacious, modern & clean. Good selection of TV channels. Shower was powerful with good quality towels and toiletries. Air conditioning worked very well, staff are very helpful. Pool was very big with lots of sun beds available and floating beanbags for use. Beach area is decorated lovely with lots of beds and umbrellas. Gym was well equipped as well as library. Pool table, badminton, table tennis and trampoline all available for use. Good choice at breakfast.

Price of drinks could maybe be cheaper but you are paying 5 star hotel prices. Shops on your doorstep which do drinks at half the price.

Great location on the beach. Excellent room with balcony. Very close to other restaurants and bars which were generally very good and much cheaper than the hotel. The breakfasts and one dinner we had offered lots of choice and good quality. The swimming pool was large with plenty of loungers although most guests monopolised loungers for their stay.

Very little. Most guests were mature and often overweight. This was not a children's holiday season so it might be quite different at other times. The bar was better and cheaper on the neighbouring resort

good location next to the beach, room space is good.

Breakfast were not good enough for taste, Management should be done better than as present. They should provide middle manager to arrange and manage lower level staffs to work properly, they work hard but seem like they don't work as good team because no manager to manage them. Water supply in bathroom , toilet were too low pressure.
