The staff was all excellent - constantly going out of their way to help us. The view from our room (of Wat Arun and the goings-on on the river) was nothing short of extraordinary. We paid extra for that, but it was totally worth it. We will remember that for the rest or our lives. I loved living along Maha Rat Road, which became a truly beautiful, atmospheric place after dark. I did not expect candle-lit outdoor restaurants, but there they were. The views of Wat Pho, along Maha Rat Road are breath-taking, especially at night. It's a constant feast for the eyes as you do basic things like walk to the 7-11 or the 3 block commute to get your 4th massage at the Wat Pho Massage School. The rooftop restaurant is terrific, but there are plenty of other excellent little Thai places in the neighborhood, including the justifiably famous, Michelin starred Rongos. Don't miss the pad thai lady at the corner of Maha Rat Road. 50 baht for excellent sidewalk pad thai. Huge thanks to the young, enthusiastic Wat Arun staff for looking after us so graciously. This was a truly unforgettable experience. I wish I could be there right now.

This place is not like every hotel. First of all, it's a walk-up - which was fine for us but might not be for everybody. It's on a great little alley, but alleys aren't for everyone. The area is a little scruffy, but totally safe, atmospheric and 100% worth it. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Location - 5/5. 10 mins walk from Sanam Chai Exit 1. There is a seven eleven within 2 mins walk. 3 mins walk to Wat Phra. The property is on the opposite riverside of Wat Arun and has famous postcard view. Breakfast - 5/5. Upon checkin, the receptionist will provide the list of breakfast so that you can tick which breakfast you would like (range from Egg Benedict to Pad Ka Pao). You can choose as many as you want. Egg Benedict is even more tasty than what I had in Europe so far. Room facility - 5/5. Bed is so comfy. I had a very sound sleep. The room I got has an exclusive landmark view of War Arun and a balcony with table and chairs. You can have breakfast delivered to your room and enjoy the breakfast while viewing Wat Arun. Good WIFI and functioning A/C (easy adjusting temperature) Services - 5/5. Very smooth checkin. The welcome drink is so tasty as well. No deposit required. Staff are very friendly and speak English well. The property does not have a lift but the staff will help you deliver luggage to the room via luggage delivery box.

Would be better if there was a way for people visiting the restaurant to get to the rooftop without having to walk past all the hotel rooms.

They told us we didn't have a view, but we had a FABULOUS view of Wat Arun (right across the river). Hotel was very clean, the food was amazing, the rooftop restuarant is also amazing. "Nu" was the manager and he was so helpful and polite in checking us in and making sure we also had a taxi to the airport (with all tolls included, on time). The hotel is in an amazing location to walk to Grand Palace, Flower market, take 5 Baht ferry to Wat Arun; shops and eateries were very close by. It is also close to several boats and ferries making it even more appealing.

We had an amazing stay at ARUN riverside. The staff, especially Nu was absolutely amazing. The hotel is a beautiful boutique hotel right on the water facing the temple with stunning views at night. The LOCATION cannot be beat! You are minutes from most of the temples in Bangkok and a 15min subway ride to Chinatown which has the best food in Bangkok. Traffic is bad in Bangkok so it’s great to stay in a central location with easy access to Chinatown via subway but without the crazy traffic in Chinatown at night. We cannot rate the hotel highly enough. We had earlier morning excursions and Nu was amazing at having our breakfast hot and ready for us each morning. The Thai food for breakfast was SO good. We especially enjoyed having cocktails from the bar brought to our room so we could enjoy the sunset in private The morning we checked out, Nu (manager) organized our taxi at a very good price and even had the taxi driver take a picture of us to confirm that we arrived safely. We had an amazing time and will absolutely be back to support this wonderful hotel.

Small little hotel right by Wat Pho and across the river from Wat Arun. We had a non view room but were pleasantly surprised to find a partial view of river and Wat Arun from the balcony. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff were amazing and took an interest in our stay and were pro active in arranging things we needed. Shops, restaurants, tuk-tuks, ATM, all within a few mins walk. We felt safe in the hotels area at all times and hope to stay here again.

Rooftop restaurant had great food but has a minimum spend and time limit on good tables. I understand why but neighbouring restaurants didn't have this so were more relaxed. A bit of an Instagram spot so can be busy. There is building work nearby but this didn't affect us at all.

Loved staying at the Arun Riverside. We were in a great location with a gorgeous view of Arun Wat from our room and balcony. We were so happy with our room view of Arun Wat which is gorgeous during the day and night. Be sure to get up a little early one morning to enjoy the sunrise. We were able to walk from the hotel or take a boat from the nearby pier to most local attractions which made it easy to explore Bangkok. We walked to restaurants for lunch and dinner. The staff was friendly and always willing to help. Breakfast was simple but a nice start for the day. There was some music noise from the upstairs rooftop bar but the noise ended by 10 so it wasn’t an issue. Staying at Arun Riverside made our trip to Bangkok easy and enjoyable. There is some construction and unfinished projects in the immediate area but they didn’t detract from our experience. We were mostly out and about exploring. Great value for our amazing view and great location near major sites.

Location was excellent - so central and within walking distance to Wat Pho (Reclining Buddha) and The Grand Palace. Also only a few mins from a ferry station where you can get the Orange line (we got it down to the IconSiam mall which has a direct ferry stop) for only 16 baht! Staff were so lovely and so helpful with any queries and helped us arrange a taxi to the airport for an early morning flight. The view from the room was exactly as pictured and was amazing, well worth it! They also have a great rooftop terrace where you can have drinks and food with the same view.

The only things that come to mind are the bed (very firm, just not to my liking!) and lack of lift (although they do have a luggage lift) so if you’re not very mobile this is not the place for you as quite a few stairs to navigate.

Our room was amazing and the view of the Wat Arun was out of this world. Room was clean, they always provided water bottles, and the breakfast included was great. Felt like our stuff was safe in the room while we were out exploring. AC worked well. Staff was friendly. They even waited for us around 1AM because our flight got delayed.

The only downside I would say is finding the property when you first arrive. Hard to see in the middle of the night, but they did answer my phone call which made it easier to find! Its on the street where “Began Vegan” is and the “Blue ATM’s” are located!

Excellent location. Small hotel with few rooms. Next to The Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Wat Arun and right in front of the river. There are many restaurants and local shops in the area. The staff were 5 stars. Very attentive, always available and friendly. We stayed in a room with a view of the river and Wat Arun. Amazing view. Great size room. Good hotel if you want to stay in this area of the city close to the main monuments, the river and with a nice view.

Common areas should be better maintained and clean. There is no elevator and the stairs are used to access the rooms but also for customers going to the rooftop restaurant/bar. The reception area and breakfast room were very disorganized, confusing and could have been tidier and cleaner. The price is a little excessive for the general quality but it is worth it for the location and view.
