This is an exceptional property. A few rooms and villas were built on the riverside property of a minor Thai princess, who lives part of the year in a mansion on the property with her children. The pool was nice and the grounds were beautiful. The service was top-notch, thanks to the property manager Ohm - a true gem. Arranged everything we requested, including having a long-tail boat pick us up at the property's private pier to tour the canals. And the waterfront dining room has an extraordinary view across the river to the Wat Arun.

The room was rather small and not well lighted.

What a little piece of paradise in the heart of Bangkok: when the gates open youenter a completely different part of Bangkok. We are not part people, and certainly don't like the big highrise buildings many people stay at in Bangkok. We chose this hotel for its boutique look, green surroundings, views over the river and the close proximity to the Grand Palace, and it certainly didn't disappoint. The staff is incredibly hospitable, the room (Mali) very comfortable and decorated with much care to detail, and the breakfast so yummy: I don't think we've ever eaten better fresh croissants anywhere, not even in France. In fact, we enjoyed our stay so much we've already booked our room again for next year. We're looking forward to be back!

When driving up to the gates you have no idea what's behind them but that once you step into the grounds of Chakrabongse you can feel that your stay here is going to be special and unique experience. There's a rich history, the grounds are immaculately kept and the pool is so relaxing to wade in at night; it is a picturesque place to unwind with the sound of crashing waves completing the experience. Breakfast is served on a pier overlooking the water. The servings are generous, choices plenty and all was presented well, fresh and very tasty. The staff were all very professional and polite. The room had a magical feel to it; from the moment you unlock the big wooden doors and you step into your room you feel like you're a world away. The colours, the decor, the furniture - the lamps and lights amazing. The toiletries smelt divine too!.

Whilst the lamps and lighting fixtures were very attractive at times the lighting was too dim to read or to look for items etc.

Fantastic property - you feel like you have walked away from the hubbub of Bangkok and into a serene oasis the moment you ring the bell for the gates to open. Sitting directly on the river, and with fantastic grounds to walk through. And the restaurant was superb. Probably the best Thai we have ever had. It is not cheap - but it is amazing. We spent 2 nights having dinner there out of our 3 at Chakrabongse, and the food was simply amazing - as was breakfast. And the staff are all so friendly and helpful. A delight to engage with.

Probably the only thing is that we were in one of the standard rooms, and the coffee and tea were out on the landing serving three rooms. It would have been far better to have tea and coffee facilities in every room.

This is an outstanding oasis amid the bustle of Bangkok. Laid back and peaceful. Great rooms and service. Fabulous staff. Nothing is too much trouble. The degustation dinner was superb. Nat the chef and Atom were outstanding. We recommend the sunset speed boat ride up the river also. Something different. Fabulous breakfasts. Great attention to detail.

The TV in our room failed in a thunder storm. But we didn't care really. Perhaps put another set of steps at the shallow end of the pool!

Very friendly personnel. I had lost my wallet in the cab and without their help I would have never gotten it back. The location itself is a green oasis amidst the buzzing street life, right between Wat Pho and Wat Arun. The rooms are orientally decorated and very cosy. The restaurant is amazing, right at the river with splendid views of Wat Arun and incredible food. I can only highly recommend the location.

staying in a traditional Thai villa compound makes a lovely change from the big luxury hotels, however sumptuous they may be. our suite had its own entrance and was on an upper level, tastefully furnished all in teakwood with a spacious bathroom and a very large terrace with daybed, sun loungers and umbrella, dining table and chairs. we had a view over the lovely gardens and the Chao Praya, where Wat Arun provides a spectacular vista; the ideal spot for breakfast. it’s brilliantly located, very tranquil (we felt we were the only guests, even if that was not the case). the staff are very attentive and courteous and prompt with any request.

I assume that the lack of business due to COVID has stretched their means and so the property is not in the tip-top condition it deserves.

Fantastic staff. Ohm and Atom were wonderful hosts. the location is absolutely amazing with Wat Pho, The Grand Palace, the textile museum, and China Town all within a quick walk. Wat Arun is a 5baht boat ride away. Dinner there was also incredible with a top notch chef and an unbeatable view. Breakfasts were also served there and that view just doesn’t get old.

This was a wonderful property in a wonderful place. I can’t imagine finding fault with any of it.

This place is great ! It has a five star service and location yet it feels very intimate. Even the smaller rooms are quite spacious and very confortable. The location in front of Wat Arun is breathtaking. The gardens and pool area are beautiful and well kept. The breakfast is delicious and personalized.

Lovely boutique hotel on the river which was quiet and peaceful with an authentic Thai feel and excellent attentive staff. We had a pool view suite which was perfect. Staff arranged a very early pickup from the hotel at 5am on our departure day but also made sure there were staff available to help with our bags. Great advice about local massages, meals and entertainment. Tranquil pool which was nice and warm.
