Aurum was the perfect place for a first time trip to Bangkok and Thailand. The hotel sends you a print out to give to the taxi at the airport, or can even arrange a pick up for you. Once at the hotel, you’re in the middle of the main tourist sites. It’s a very quick walk to the Grand Palace and Wat Pho, the 24h flower market is right there. If you’re lucky enough to book early enough and get a river view, you’ll see Wat Arun perfectly. Breakfast is RIGHT on the water and was delicious. I loved the butterfly juice. The receptionist — and everyone says this! — is so kind. She was very funny and helpful. There’s a metro entrance right there, too — maybe a 5 minute walk, which is helpful to explore the rest of Bangkok.

As others mentioned, staffs are so friendly and helpful. I forgot to ask her name but the lady at the front desk is so sweet and nice. We were able to check in really early as our rooms were available at the time we arrived. Traveling with my 67 and 73 years old parents and 2 little kids, Aurum The River Place made my stay in Bangkok so much easier for so many reasons: comfort stay, close to everything, 5 minutes walk to Wat Pho, you can see Wat Arun from the hotel, Grand Palace just 1km away, for old parents that can’t walk that far under the heat you can take tuk tuk there, just 5 minutes ride and super cheap, super fun. Staff is always there, happily answer all of your questions and give you all the information/advice you need. Definitely will be back ;)

Hotel located right at Wat Po temple and the Palace. Rooms are quiet as the hotel sits in a small alley right at the riverbank. Rooms were spacious for two but facilities are slightly outdated. Excellent breakfast with choices for Western or Thai menus. Staff was very friendly and helpful, thanks in particular to Mrs Pan!

Neighborhood is touristy; restaurants, massage salons or souvenir shops are a little bit too commercial. Especially Wat Po is over commercializing the brand for its famed massages; staff at one of the premises was unfriendly and indifferent to customers. Beware of the usual group of youngsters around the temple and palace trying to sell services to visitors.

I was a return customer. Great as the other time i went. Pam is the loveliest staff you will know, and the breakfast (I recommend getting the Thai breakfast) by the river overviewing Wat Arum is very relaxing. I think it is the best region to stay in Bangkok, is very relaxed and it feels very local. At night is a bit empty, but I felt safe at all times. Besides some great food options near (suppaniga restaurant close by has a great view of the river and a very cool vibe, I recommend you get the appetizer plater). Also the street stand by the 7-11 is very good (accompanied by a cold singha)

The bathroom has a little step by the door, just make sure to watch out for it.

Breakfast was at an adjacent café with great view on the river. No buffet, but a set meal you opted for the day before.

Our room with double bed was not ready. The hotel offered to sleep in a twin bed, which we did not want. We insisted and they offered to pay a supplement for a upgraded room with a double bed. After some discussions, we were given a room with double bed without extra payment. Was very unkind as we arrived late evening and we found no room ready. For this price, I'd expect a better service.

Location by the river, views and proximity to the temples. Taking breakfast by the river is lovely. All the staff were super helpful and friendly.

By international standards this is not a 4 star hotel, for a number of reasons. 1: I can’t recall having to pre choose breakfast the night before. 2: The hotel does not have its own bar or restaurant, you share space of a riverside coffee shop. You will notice we still gave a 10/10 score based on the star rating we thought should have been applied.

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely boutique hotel. The staff were all amazing, especially the lady working during the days on the front desk; so pleasant and so helpful. Breakfast was served at the coffee shop next-door right on the river, which was the perfect setting to start your day. The property was easily accessible to all the things you wanted to do and kept spotlessly clean. Excellent boutique hotel.

There was nothing about the place we didn’t like

Pam at the reception made us feel at home. The hotel is in a great location, a walking distance from 3 main temples in Bangkok: wat arum, wat pho and grand palace. The neighbourhood is very calm and you don't feel the rush of downtown Bangkok. The breakfast was in vivi cafe with a really nice view to the river, which was a very chill experience.

The hotel is a bit far from downtown. At night not a lot of open places (suppaniga is a very good option)

Fabulous location! Centrally placed in walking distance from all mayor attractions, ferry and metro. Rooms are spacious, bright and clean with enough shelving to store all belongings. Comfortable beds; modern, renovated bathroom. Pam and the staff were always there, ready to help, always smiling. The entire hotel give up a very relaxed Parisian vibe. Overall I can wholeheartedly recommend this accommodation.

Breakfast was delicious and freshly made to order but lacked some more choices if you were staying longer.

Beautiful little boutique style hotel right on the Chaophraya River. The staff are all so kind and helpful! They also stored our luggage for us while we toured around. Location was excellent all so close to the top attractions but also peaceful at night away from the hustle and bustle. Rooms were clean and well equipped. The breakfast overlooking the river was a bonus. Definitely recommend!
