Great location - just across the road is a lively road full of restaurants, bars and street food. Further up from Sawasdee house are lots of clothing and bag stalls. The room was clean and water was provided. When we arrived we were able to check in early which was much appreciated after a very long flight. Also, we used the pool located just over the road multiple times during our short stay. It is a quiet pool, perfect to relax and get away from the hustle of Bangkok.

The reception area smelt quite bad and one night some other guests had returned from a night out at about 4am and were shouting for about 20 minutes in which time no staff did anything to move them on - if I was a solo traveller I would have been worried to be in a room on my own with a group of men shouting outside my room.

Location - super easy to get to restaurants, grand Palace, wat arun, wat pho. Room - ample space, very comfortable bed, good shower and bathroom. Staff - mostly very helpful, even through the broken english. Wifi - you need a separate login for every device which is a bit awkward and long winded, but I dont remember having any problem with the wifi itself. I would stay here again.

On our last evening I asked for late checkout the next day, and the women just said 'no we're full'. Luckily, I wasnt convinced by this, and tried again the next morning, and I was able to get it. I understand allowing late checkout is something that usually needs to be asked the morning of, but then just say that, dont tell me you're full when you're not. Also, breakfast was fine but nothing more.

Personally, I think this is the best area to stay in Bangkok. It's quaint but lively. A fascinating area to explore without the feeling of high rise hotels and alleys with massage parlours. It's not far from the China town and river. Ram Butri is a great street if you like watching life go by. Sawsdee House is perfect in my opinion. It has the basics you want – clean, comfortable bed, it's not noisy (I was on the 4th floor though, so maybe this makes a difference? Doubt it), it has air-con, a safe, a modern bathroom (with window on the streets and view of the temple next door). The door was secure and the staff were great.

Nothing is perfect! But there's nothing that really bothered me here. If I had mobility issues, the lack of lift would have been a problem. The internet was a bit shaky at times - maybe because I was on the 4th floor? I suppose that would have been the main improvement I would suggest. Oh, and the area isn't near the train line which could be annoying, but you get to take a tuk tuk instead!

Nice clean room with hot shower and comfy bed. Very helpful friendly staff. The young lady at the reception desk very willingly helped me to extend my stay for half a day due to a late departure at the airport despite the occupancy of the hotel. Thank you so much. Fantastic location walking distance to everything places what you need. Not so far from Khao San road. This was my repeated stay here and I believe it will not be the last :o) I recommend stay here

The reception were very helpful and friendly. Very easy process. Room was exactly what my 8 year old and I needed for one night after flying in from uk. No frills, but clean and easy, exactly what we were hoping for. A/C a relief in the city! The best part is the street it’s located in is leafy, away from the smell and noise of KSR, but close enough if that’s you’re vibe. The restaurant was open all night so great for our delayed check in and was a great place to spend our down time the next day. Location very close to the river for a quick trip to Wat Arun before we caught our night train the next evening. The let us leave our bags too, which was super helpful. Very happy with the entire experience 🥰

Hotel location is really good! Close to khao san road without being too close to the noise! Hotel room was spacious and clean & the beds were comfy! Staff are super helpful & restaurant next door is nice. The pool located a two minute walk down the road is also quite nice & has a pool table too!

No complaints, we did have to ask for our room to be cleaned even after leaving the sign up but once we asked at reception it was seen to!

I have loved staying here for many years. The location is incredible and the staff are really fantastic - it’s had some recent renovations - which I don’t think it even needed, the rooms are more modern, but have not lost their charm. Close enough to the crazy Kao Sahn road action without actually being on it. Perfect 👌

Prices seem to have gone up. It’s not the budget accommodation it once was.

Staff were really friendly, helped us print off visa and gave directions. Pool was really nice and not too busy. Great location and aircon works well and quickly.

Mold above toilet and some ants in our room. Nothing too bad, just made the room a little less enjoyable.

Located near the hustle and buzzle of the Koasan Road, but on a much quieter street with fab restaurants, and cocktail bars, this gem of a hotel was conveniently located, clean and had all that we needed for a couple of days in Bangkok. Furthermore, my friend had an issue with their Vietnamese Visa and the staff went above and beyond to help her get it sorted! Thank you so much!

It's near Kao San Road but off of a quieter street down the block. It was safe and private and relatively quiet. Restaurant downstairs was ok, but overall the staff were friendly and I enjoyed my stay.

There was a fly issue in my room. I get it, it's Bangkok. But I was swatting a lot of flies that seemed to go away after about 3 days. Not a big deal honestly, maybe it was just my room.
