This is a lovely hotel, situated in the suburbs of Chiang Mai, but with everything in walking distance or by very cheap Tuk Tuk. We stayed at the hotel twice during our 4 weeks in Thailand, and we sampled all three room types on offer. All were nice, clean, comfortable and spacious, with a large bath and separate shower. TV has Netflix. Beds are very comfy, room fridge very handy, staff are lovely (including Michael, who everyone comments on). Limited but very nice breakfast on offer. Swimming pool very large and clean, Koi pond amazing, as is resident cat. Standard (deluxe) rooms are in the basement, so lack of natural light and a bit humid down there, but still nice, with a little private courtyard attached, although no furniture to sit outside. Executive room, on top floor, very nice with balcony, so good view of pool. Poolside (swim up) rooms are the nicest…you can access a small pool directly from your balcony…although it’s easier to get in the pool than it is to get back out!

The photos on the website are out of date…the hotel is a little tired and rough around the edges…and is in need of some maintenance, e.g., rotting wood on balconies, tiles missing in pool, sun loungers missing cushions etc. Also, there is no Spa, no massage facilities (although they will book a local massage person to come to your room), no bar, no cocktails, no evening meals, so you need to go out for everything.

Superquiet location great for sleep and relax by the awesome and big clean pool but not far from hustle and bustle of the city. The whole building is very unique built in a fusion of traditional and modern way. The staff is the top of the cake crowned by Mr. Michael ;)

The view and the fact that in my room which was located beneath the swimming pool water surface and just infront of the swimming pool wall the window can not be opened and view is basically nil. I realize the room I stayed at is the cheapest room style available therefore I have no problem with that but some people may not like this style. However I have to point out that since those rooms are somehow "disconnected" from the world outside, they are absolutely fantastic for great sleep and in the morning I woke up superbly refreshed.

It was a lovely place, with comfortable large rooms, two pools, and brilliant staff- Michael in particular really helped make our stay enjoyable, having advised on places we might like to visit and good places to eat, as well as investing time, going the extra mile, to sort out a problem we’d created for ourselves.

The hotel was a bit further out of town than ideal for us, but the taxis aren’t expensive and just took 10 minutes to get to the centre.

Our second visit to the chaya. Michael is an exceptional host and made us feel very welcome. He is ably supported by Niu and Mem who are always happy and helpful. Breakfast was very good. The pool is really nice. Our room was always kept very clean by the cleaners

The pool area could do with some shade - maybe some umbrellas. The cushions could do with a good clean.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at a hotel where we were fortunate enough to encounter a very kind and thoughtful man named Michael. From the moment we arrived, Michael went above and beyond to make sure that our stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. One of the things we appreciated most about Michael was his attention to detail. He provided us with many useful tips and recommendations for things to do and see in the area. We were also touched by Michael's thoughtfulness. He remembered our names and went out of his way to make small talk with us, which made us feel truly welcomed. He also went out of his way to make special arrangements for us, such as providing me with a late check-out so that I could enjoy my last day without feeling rushed. In addition to his great customer service, Michael also made sure that the hotel itself was a great place to stay. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the amenities were top-notch. The swimming pool was lovely and clean. Overall, our stay at this hotel was a true pleasure, and it was largely due to the kindness and thoughtfulness of Michael. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in the area, and I would like to express my gratitude to Michael for making my stay so wonderful.

We had a room which went straight out to the pool and this was such a great addition! The room size was good, the bathroom was amazing, the hotel was quiet and the staff very friendly. I had read some bad reviews but I thought the whole stay was great. It's not high end luxury but then the price reflects that. For us, it was really perfect and we were sad to leave.

I booked two nights here for Christmas and it was absolutely perfect! It’s a beautiful hotel without being too fancy and it felt so peaceful there as I hardly saw many other guests around even though most rooms looked taken! Michael on reception made the stay extra special as he was just so lovely and helpful with everything!

Absolutely nothing although I did think the breakfast could have been a little more exciting for a 4* hotel.. maybe some pastries and fresh fruit available would be nice as I’m veggie and could only really have scrambled eggs with toast.

Perfect hotel for us situated between the Nimmans area (Maya Centre is 30 min walk) and Suan Dok old town gate (20 min walk). Our room was very good size, shower was good. Everything very clean. Pool was very good and superb for cooling off The breakfast was really nice. The staff were exceptional, kind and very helpful. Michael, Ying, Khartun, Tui, New and Kon treated like family and their smiling happy faces will stay with us.

The staff is super nice, Michael is super friendly to all travellers and comfortable with different languages (at least with Thai, Eng, Mandarin, Cantonese!) The staff tried their best to satisfy our needs and so caring~ The room looks same with the official picture and it’s clean. All facilities works well and in good condition. The room is located near to restaurant, coffee shops. travellers can use Bolt and Grab to travel around the city.

so perfect that i cannot think of any cons.

The receptionist/manager was super helpful and polite. Having a room with direct access to the swimming pool was lovely.

Breakfast was disappointing. Limited choice of food. Had to wait for plates and cutlery on the 2 days i ate there. The hotel is directly under the flight path so there is quite a lot of noise in the early morning and late evening. The room and hotel were very nice but i do not think it was value for money.
