The staffs were very friendly and helpful like many other Turkish people and hospitality. I was with my daughter on a short break. They gave me a cake as a surprise for my birthday, they saw my birthdate on my passport ( requirement for tourist registration). The room is quite small but very clean, breakfast on roof terrace, location is good, near to most tourist attractions.

The hotel is small and cosy, specially the breakfast area in the terrace. I was not expecting it, but when I arrived pretty early in the morning the staff allowed my early check-in and also that I could occupy my room. That was very nice! I enjoyed my stay very much.

Sometimes you ask something in the reception and they don't give you the information, then you have to figure out by yourself. For example, I asked about the location of a Vodafone shop and they answered that they would sell me a SIM card, which was not I was planning; the same about an exchange office.

I like that the location was good..near camberlitas station in Sultanahmet area. The grand bazaar and both the blue and pink mosques are all within a walking distance. The location of the hotel is on a hill so when you leave the hotel, its quite a climb uphill on cobble stone Street. The location is next to a beautiful local mosque, hammam on the left and it has a nice rooftop restaurant. Hotel breakfast is also served at the rooftop and the morning view is spectacular in its self. The front desk guy, Orhan is fantastic, soft spoken and caring. The area is quiet except very early morning when you can listen to the seagulls fighting at the crack of dawn. If you don't mind it, its just nature's music. All in all, its a good enough hotel ..simple, no fuss, no frills and has enough basic amenities ( soap, shampoo, hot water, heater, heated flooring, slippers & hair drier) and has a surprisingly very good bed. I took a single room and usually in other places, the beds are not as good. But Dara Old City Hotel has a good bed. The wifi was also good so I could work well. They also have loads of brochures for sightseeing. It costed me 380 Turkish Lira to get to the hotel from the new Istanbul Airport on a yellow taxi. Journey took 1 hour 30 minutes.

The lobby was a bit dark, it would be great if its lit up a bit. And a welcome warm drink wouldn't hurt especially in autumn/ winter. It would also be great if they have a map of the area. Otherwise, with the price that I paid, the hotel is just wonderful and just enough.

The hotel is completely renovated, clean and location is excellent. The staff on the reception was really kind and helpful.

The rooms can be really small, depending on the type of the room you choose. Some of the bigger rooms have veeery small, close to non-existing window, so maybe for some guests it's better to choose smaller room. It has more daylight. The variety of the food for breakfast, as well as the quality of the food could be better, but considering the price, it is good value for money.

Small new hotel at Sultanahmet location. Just few minutes from the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia or Basilica Cistern. Cleanliness at a highest level. There is a nice rooftop terrace with an amazing view. Best of all is wonderful staff who delighted us with their kindness and attention (especially Azerbaijani), also providing free tea and cakes at the rooftop terrace. Great value for the money.

Rooms are much smaller than stated. Some of 4 rooms did not have window at all (or had something that cannot be called a window because it is tiny and looks into the wall) and therefore no daylight in the room at all, although it is stated that all rooms have a view. Therefore, information provided by the hotel regarding the room size, windows and view is misleading and should be corrected for each individual room.

Me and my son had a one day stop over in Istanbul beginning of June. starting from booking far in advance and guiding forward until arrival to Dara Old City hotel we felt great support and guidance from the Personnel of the hotel and personally Orhan bey! this is very precious and important, especially when you are tired of travelling between the cities.

The location, 5 minutes walking to the main attractions. The top roof restaurant view is amazing. Staff are very kind and helpful

No kettle, mug or glass in the room Very small room Breakfast can be better. Improving the breakfast options and add a wider variety of dishes to create a more fulfilling experience of the famous Turkish breakfast.

Dara Old City Hotel is ideally situated in Istanbul whether you are traveling for Leisure or Business. Bus and Tram Stations are at 5 minutes walk. Restaurants are around the corner. Food is similar at all the outlets. Just identify a cool one for all your lunches and dinners.

Istanbul is cold. The hotel is centrally heated but as soon as you move outside, you must be well dressed

The location was great, very convenient. The hotel has a very nice rooftop terrace with a nice view. The breakfast was nice too if you came early. On the terrace is also a restaurant, and the prices are okey. Everything was great! clean rooms, central location, warm and welcoming people, whatever we asked for, the staff was at our disposal at any time!

The staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly. We were contacted prior to arrival, and they helped get us transport from/to the airport. Orhan was very helpful in directing us to appropriate tours in the short time we had in Istanbul. Our luggage was delayed in Frankfurt, and Orhan spent a lot of time trying to get it to us.
